Delivery

-Bulls that are picked up sale day will receive a $100 discount.

-For bulls returning to the seller’s farm we suggest that the bulls be insured. Each animal becomes the responsibility of the buyer as soon as sold

-Deliveries will start around April 1, at the seller’s convenience.

-Bulls will be delivered free of charge to central points across B.C, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. We do our best to deliver your bull to your yard.

-Bulls traveling to the eastern provinces and for export will have trucking arranged at cost; unless other arrangements are made.

USA & Mexico Export

The buyer will arrange for all tests and paper work required to export their purchases. Transportation will also be arranged at cost. We usually use Knill H S to send bulls to the USA and Mexico.

Purchasing breeding stock is a major part of raising livestock. Photos and videos are great tools but don’t always tell the whole truth. If there are any questions on sires, dams, CE , WW, milk, etc please don’t hesitate to give us a call. We can help narrow your search or point you to a bull that suits your needs.

Sight Unseen Purchases

If you need a bull or heifers but don’t have the time to come to the sale we can help. Kuzio Farms and Ty-D Livestock are both family run operations. We are the guys that do the foot work in our operations from the feeding to the breeding. Call ahead of the sale and we can discuss what you need or want in your next herd sire. We will select a bull that will fit your operation, at your price point. The saying with us is “We rather keep our buyers happy than look for new ones each year.”

Sale Group Guarantee

All bulls are guaranteed to be satisfactory breeders in accordance with the Simmental association guidelines. We stand behind our product, Should a problem occur please contact us and we will make it right. A replacement bull (of equal quality), a credit or reimbursement will be given at our digression. Any physical injury or mismanagement of the bull(s), will void any reimbursement.

Volume Discount

We really appreciate are customers and for buyers needing several bulls this spring, we are offering a volume discount. Any buyers purchasing 3 or more bulls will receive a 3% discount. There is no minimum limit on price of bulls.

Bull-Breeding Soundness

All bulls will be semen tested before the sale. Bulls are tested for Sperm motility, morphology and are also subjected to a physical exam. They are checked for any scrotal, penis and other physical problems that would affect their ability to breed. Any bulls failing these tests will not be at the sale. Any semen deferred bulls have been tested and have been deemed by the vet to mostly likely pass a semen test at a later date. These bulls usually fail do to age or weather problems.

Heifers-Breeding Soundness

These heifers have all been palpated before the sale. Heifers that are found to be sexually underdeveloped or free martin will have been shipped.

Health

All bulls will be vet checked, scrotal measured, weighed and semen tested. All sale cattle are on a full heath program. Any questions on feeding or exact health protocols please contact Kuzio Farms or Ty-D Livestock..

Polled Testing

A select number of bulls will be Homo Polled tested. Homo polled = no horns on any Calves Hetro polled = 50% polled calves on horned cows

Colour Testing

Some black bulls will be tested for colour expression. Homo black bulls will not sire any red calves. The fullbloods and a select few red bulls will be diluter tested. Bulls testing diluter free can be crossed with black cows and will not give you any grey calves.

Semen Reserve

We reserve the right to draw semen for in herd use on any bull in the sale offering. Semen will be drawn at seller’s expense and buyer’s convenience.

EPDs

Epd`s are basically a Mathematical estimation of a animals genetic value. There not always right but they can help in choosing your breeding stock. Below is a list of the epd`s and what they stand for.

We are very excited to introduce our bull offering for the 2nd annual Kuzio Farms and Ty-D Livestock Bull Sale! It’s been an eventful year as we are still recovering from the drought in 2021 and we hope 2023 brings moisture, plentiful crops, and big calves for everyone!

Chasing after a wild toddler has been fun to say the least and we are so thankful he enjoys the ranch life just as much as we do! This year’s offering is even more quiet than usual after a winter of Lawson helping feed bulls, walk through the pens, and trying to pet anything that will let him!

We stand by the longevity of our bulls and herd health is extremely important to us. Calves receive Nasalgen a week after birth, Pyramid 5 and Vision 8 with Somnus when they go to pasture, and again upon weaning as well as injectable Bimectin. The bulls are fed a bull developer pellet with free choice hay and mineral.

“Westy” 76G is a soggy, big boned, big nutted, lead off Westerdale son we purchased from Westway Farms 2020 bull offering. His first daughters are calving this year and every one of them have dropped great udders, great feet, and incredible dispositions. His sons top the pen for productivity and he never fails to throw the most docile calves.

Blitz is a bull we have been using on heifers and cows for a couple of years. He is directly out of the famous Elegant Force cow whose progeny have been extremely successful in the industry, including two daughters valued over $100,000, one of them being a ¾ sibling to Blitz. Blitz throws his smooth shoulder, soft pastern and stylish look we so love him for.

Superior was a bull urchased by Malcolm Nowosad in 2021. He was our pick of the bulls and had to keep his genetics! His mother is one of our best red cows with an incredible udder and flawless, sturdy feet. She added the power to Epic and together they made one of our favourite red bulls we have raised.

We walked 113H for a short while when we ran into some bull trouble two years ago. Our good friends at Lazy HE Ranch sent us this power bull they purchased from Johnson Ranching to use on some of the angus cows. We sure like the F1 cross calves we got off of him!

In the fall of 2021 we campaigned a bred heifer who gathered more banners than we had wall space and she finished off the year as National Reserve Champion Simmental Female at Agribition. An accomplishment we are incredibly proud of! A few weeks later we sold half interest on that female for $54,000 to Longview Cattle Co and Double Bar D Farms.

This brick shithouse is that baby she was carrying that fall. Rip is moderate framed and is so attractive in his front end with a hell of a nice haircoat, soft foot, stout body, big middle, and those “Elle ears” that catch a lot of eyes. His pedigree is stacked, he’s halter broke, and he has everything he needs to be a great herd bull to sire show females and stout sons!

Our only blaze face purebred bull to offer this year. His maternal brothers were our high sellers last year and this guy has been a favourite of ours all year. His mother is a Poker Face daughter out of our donor Beech Bro Western Star. This guy is the full package. Stout, soggy, and extremely docile. His mother has a beautiful udder and throws the perfect blaze baby every year. If you want a bull to throw you some colour, this is a good one!

He had a nice moderate birthweight coming out of a moderate heifer, and when he hit the ground, he did nothing but grow. 1K is a great option if you’re looking for a bull to cover your young females whose calves will still push the scales at weaning. On paper, this bull also has fantastic EPD’s!

She came bred to Tycoon and this big hipped, dark red, good lookin’ son of a gun was the result. If you’re in the market for a dark red cow bull, he’s your dude!

Our youngest bull of the offering and he’s had no problem keeping up! He’s soggy, stout, good haired, and ready to go to work.

Heifer bull! Sired by Epic, out of a first calf heifer, and hit the ground running at 68lbs! This fella is looking for a group of young females to cover! Epic is notorious for calving easy and growing like bad weeds, which is exactly what this guy did.

We really love this bull! Not only does he have a white face, but he might just be the stoutest simangus bull in the pen. He has frame, he has hair, he’s big middled and big hipped. If you’re looking for an F1 cow bull to throw some white faces, 45K will do the job! His mother is a sweet cow with a high-quality udder.

400K is a percentage bull we wish we would have gotten ready for the percentage shows during the fall. He is FLASHY! Another bull with a moderate birthweight out of a first calf heifer. His mother is a moderate heifer who did a whale of a job on this one. She is a commercial simmental female who is high percentage simmental. Her mother was always one of our favourite no miss females in the commercial herd with an awesome udder and great feet that 400K’s mother is showing promise to as well.

37K is another one in the simangus pen who we have always liked a lot. His mother was a beautiful SAV Bismarck daughter who we sadly lost this spring. She was a mature cow with a nice udder and great feet.

24K is another good bull out of a first calf angus heifer. This guy came with a moderate birthweight and held his own growing with the simmy calves! He is a bull we would expect to work on both heifers and cows.

A calving ease combination with no lack of growth. 81lb birthweight out of a first calf purebred black angus heifer from a Dateline cow family and now hits the top of the simangus bull pen. The young cow dropped a wonderful udder while raising this good bull calf.

Another heifer bull prospect! We have used Blitz successfully on heifers and 17K’s mother is a first calf purebred black angus heifer. 17K came at a nice weight of 75lbs. 17K is a moderate, soft-made package with the ability to throw some white faces on his calves.

Firstly, we’d like to thank our 2022 bull buyers! It was great to have repeat buyers and new buyers select bulls from us and we would love to see you all for lunch again on sale day!

We didn’t offer up many females for sale this past year, but we did sell half interest on a heifer we think highly of. Ty-D’s Don’t Look Ethel sold for $10,000 for half to Westgold farms! We look forward to working with Ken on this outstanding female!

Our prospect steer division isn’t large in numbers but we sure have fun every year getting a couple ready to sell for junior projects! This year we only had one to offer but he was a good one. Thank you once again to the Mitchell Family of Kitscoty, AB for your continued support in our prospect division. We wish the boys the best of luck exhibiting this good steer!

We would also like to thank Brian McCarthy and family of Spring Creek Simmentals who were kind enough to donate a very sweet heifer to the Saskatchewan Simmental Association Scholarship Fund to be raffled off during Agribition. Lawson was lucky enough to win this heifer and she sure is a dandy! We look forward to seeing where this female takes Lawson’s growing program. He picks her out in the pen every day knows Lisa is his extra special heifer! So be sure to look for her progeny in the future!

We also owe a big thank you to our friend and business partner, Darlene Scriber, who will drop what she’s doing to lend us a hand whenever needed, doing chores, gathering, sorting, and everything else I’m forgetting! And to Ty’s mom, Susan, for doing chores when we leave and watching Lawson when we need to get big jobs done. Jayden helps us with basically everything it takes to get our cattle show ready, and more! Her and her family are family to us! Her sister Delta has been seen on the halter of some of our critters as well and also lends us a big hand at home and at shows. Jayden and Delta’s family own and operate The Lloydminster Pet Pad where we get all of our Sullivan products. The amount of appreciation and love we have for these girls in indescribable and we just can’t thank them enough for what they do for us!
