Name: Lydia County: Baltimore City Age of Arrival: 10 Lydia came to the United States with her mother and sister when she was ten years old from the Dominican Republic. Her mother was able to get her citizenship in time for her to go to college and pay in-state tuition. However, her sister and other family members were not so lucky and could not afford college becausethey did not get their citizenship in time. Lydia plays softball for Morgan State University and is studying to be an immigration lawyer, so she can help others with the issuesthat her own families suffered as a result of not being citizens.
