NAME : Jacqueline COUNTY : Prince George’s AGE OF ARRIVAL: 14 years old Jackie came to the United States when she was 14-years-old, from El Salvador, alone with her 9 year-old younger sister to reunite with their mother. Since her arrival she and her family have struggled to make ends meet while attending school and overcoming language barriers. Despite these obstacles and the odds Jacqueline has managed to transform into an outstanding high school student. She has a 3.5 GPAand was recently chosen to represent her school as a member of the National Honor Society. A senior in high school, Jacqueline will be the first in her family to go to college. She wishes to become a
psychologist focusing on young women. She is very active in her community and sets an inspiring example for her younger sister and her peers. “If you have a DREAM then you better ACT! Help my wish come true by passing the MD Dream.�
