Port of West Sacramento
The Port of West Sacramento serves as the international deep-water gateway for Northern California agriculture, and industrial bulk industries, with approximately 1,000,000 tons moving through the facilities annually. The Port is 79 nautical miles northeast of San Francisco, California, with passage up the Sacramento River and the Sacramento deep-water channel from San Francisco Bay. The Port is located at the crossroads of an excellent transportation network. Direct road access is available to Interstates 5 and 80, and Highways 99 and 50. Major transcontinental rail lines connect with the Port, providing rail service throughout the United States. The Port has a 150-acre operating terminal with a 22,000-ton capacity bulk rice elevator, a 30,000-ton capacity bulk grain elevator, 220,000-ton capacity closed bulk storage, and 650,000-ton capacity open bulk storage. The Port handles bulk rice, wheat, saower, fertilizer, cement aggregates, animal feed and minerals at these facilities. 301,200 square feet of closed storage space for break-bulk, neo-bulk, and project cargo is also available.
