CAST & CREW COLLIN CONWAY TEVYE, THE MILKMAN Collin Conway is proud to be taking on the role of Tevye in Fiddler On the Roof. This is the most dynamic character he has ever played, and the most profound show he has been in. These past few months he’s worked with an infinitely talented group of thespians who all took on the arduous task of putting together this show and carrying it on their shoulders. He’d like to thank his father as well as Connie Cairo, Adam Ishaq and the amazing Bobby Scruggs. He hopes that you find the show a grand piece of entertainment, and looks forward to seeing you next year.

MAYA ERICKSON | GOLDE Maya Erickson is a senior at San Clemente High School. She has been participating in the drama program since she was a freshman, and she loves the thrill of performing. Maya is grateful to be playing Golde in Fiddler On the Roof; this will be the third time she has been Collin Conway’s onstage wife. She was recently seen as Elphaba in a summer theater workshop, Jessica Cranshaw in Curtains, and Meg March in Little Women. Maya is in SCHS Madrigals, and has participated in numerous vocal competitions, such as Stars of Tomorrow. She will be majoring in voice at a university next year. Maya would like to thank Mrs. K, Ms. Dietsche, Tod, and Bob for putting together a wonderful show. She would also like to thank her fellow cast mates for all their work, and her friends and family for their support. Maya hopes you all enjoy the show!

KAYLA STEPHENS | TZEITEL Kayla is delighted to be participating in San Clemente High School’s production of Fiddler On the Roof this spring. As a junior, this is the sixth production she has been involved with. She is thrilled to have the opportunity to work with such wonderful people. Kayla would like to thank Mrs. K, Tod Kubo, and all of the supportive parents for their hard work and constant dedication. She would also like to thank her amazing friends, including the seniors in Drama who will be dearly missed. Enjoy the show!

LAUREN SCUDDER | HODEL Lauren is a junior and is thrilled to be in her third performance on the Triton Stage as Hodel. Lauren is in the SCHS Madrigals choir and is part of the school’s theater department. Some of her main roles include Amy in Little Women, and Egeus in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, along with winning 4th place at this year’s Stars of Tomorrow. She has performed in productions of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat, Anything Goes, and Cinderella, as well as done numerous solos and duets over the years. Lauren hopes to continue on her journey through theater and performing.

CASSIDY BURNS | CHAVA This is Cassidy’s seventh and final production on the Triton stage. She is ecstatic to be playing the role of Chava in Fiddler On the Roof! Some of her favorite roles at San Clemente include Nikki Harris in last spring’s Curtains, Carol in Museum, and one of Reno’s angels in Anything Goes. Her participation in the SCHS Theater Arts Program, although challenging at times, has been a gift that has enriched her high school experience and life in so many ways. Seeing

3

her brothers in productions when they were in high school inspired her and she thanks them for coming home from college and their jobs to come support her. Special thanks to Connie Cairo, her amazing voice teacher. She also thanks her parents for their constant love and support. Finally, Cassidy wants to thank Mrs. K for teaching her so much, always believing in her and giving her so many opportunities the past four years! Enjoy the show!

SYDNEY ADAMS | YENTE Sydney is a junior and is absolutely thrilled to be playing the part of Yente in Fiddler On the Roof. This is her sixth show on the Triton Stage and she can’t wait to perform for you. She would like to thank Mrs. K for her amazing vision and for going the extra mile to help her, Tod for his tireless work on the choreography, Bob for his hours of direction, her vocal teacher, Ms. Connie Cairo. A big hug and thank you to SCHS Drama alum sisters Tina Klatt and Ms. Bernadette. Special thanks to all the other fantastic parents who donate so much time and energy to this show. She wants you to know how much it is appreciated by all the kids. Thanks also to Connie Cairo. To all her friends and audience; she hopes you enjoy the show. Mazel tov!

NATHAN CORBETT | MOTEL Nathan is a junior and has been performing on the Triton stage since he started at San Clemente High School. You last saw him brawl his way through A Midsummer Night’s Dream as the charmingly confused Demetrius. What Nathan loves about theater is its transcendent ability to move beyond time and place, transporting the audience (and the actors) into another reality – that and the fact that he usually gets to kiss a very pretty girl at some point in the production. Nathan is grateful for his parents’ ability to put up with his rehearsal schedule, Mrs. K’s and Bob’s trust and guidance and his friends’ tolerance while he refined his Yiddish accent.

SCOTT PENNINGTON | PERCHIK Scott Pennington is now a senior at SCHS. Music is his greatest passion by far, and he hopes for it to be a part of his post-school career. This will be his first production with a lead role, but sadly, his last production with SCHS Drama. He would like to thank Ms. Jocelyn Dietsche, the SCHS choir director, and Constance Cairo, his vocal trainer, as well as Bob Burns for all their support and faith in him. Hope you enjoy the show!

MAX MORRIS | FYEDKA Well, here we are. Fiddler On the Roof, spring musical 2011. This is Max’s fourth and final production at San Clemente, and he couldn’t be more excited to conclude with such a brilliant show. Previously, Max has taken on roles such as the flamboyant Robert Lamb in Museum, and the slightly less flamboyant Peter Quince in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. There have been some real memorable moments. With this cast – Mrs. K almost tripping over a box, and hearing Tod scream when “The Rat” showed up – however the real treasure found within the walls of the Triton center is the honor gained by working alongside such lovely individuals. Max has learned so much and has gained so many new friends these past few years. He wants to avoid being cheesy and saying that he’ll miss everyone, but secretly, he’ll miss you. So goodbye, everybody, enjoy the show!

MITCHELL MCDUFF LAZAR WOLF THE BUTCHER Mitchell is a senior and this is his eighth and last SCHS Drama production. He is filled with a great mixture of contradictory feelings to finally be leaving the cafetorium and its quaint little stage held together by nothing more than paper clips and bubble gum. Over the years he has made many memories and has portrayed a vast array of characters ranging from the purser in Any-

thing Goes, to Michael Wall in Museum, to Nick Bottom in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. He couldn’t picture his high school years any differently and would like to thank the faithful audiences over the years for their amazing support and being there with him as he grew up in this linoleum-filled home. He would also like to thank his fellow cast members. That goes as well for those who shared the stage with him in previous years. “Super seniors, you guys helped make these the best years of my life so far, and I am both anxious and hesitant to join you.” A shout out goes out to his family and friends for enriching the rest of his life. Finally, last but not least he thanks the crew and direction team for working behind the scenes. Without them none of this would be possible, and yet they get next to no recognition. Mitchell challenges every audience member to thank at least one crew member. (The black shirt and headset is a dead giveaway). The whole world’s a stage. Go out there and break a leg!

SAM BROWN | SASHA Sam is a new actor to the SCHS theater program. Since he is a freshman, he has three more years to look forward to being on stage. Sam feels so welcomed into this family of actors and wishes the best for this year’s departing seniors. Since this is Sam’s first show, he would like to stretch out a very big “Thank You” to the very talented Mrs. K and also to his wonderful family for supporting him in the role of Sasha. He is looking forward to a wonderful show and opening night!

AMY FREER FRUMA SARAH, DANCER & VILLAGER Self-expression and creativity are near and dear to Amy’s heart. They have led to her passion for singing, art, and dance. This year, it has challenged her to take to the stage. Her involvement in last summer’s Theater Intensive inspired her to try out for A Midsummer Night’s Dream, in which she was a fairy and a wedding guest. She is very grateful for this new opportunity in both a supporting role and part of the chorus/dancers. She would also like to thank friends and family, who always support her. Also, she would like to give a special shout out to all the peo-

4

ple in Madrigals who make every fourth period extremely entertaining.

LAURA BETH ST. CLAIR FRUMA SARAH, DANCER & VILLAGER Laura Beth is ecstatic to be a part of her second San Clemente High School production! (She moved to California from Tennessee this past summer) She most recently played the role of Egeus in A Midsummer Night’s Dream this fall. She lives and breathes theatre! She wishes to thank Mrs. K for giving her all of these wonderful opportunities along with the cast a crew for so much hospitality and support. “I regard the theatre as the greatest of all art forms, the most immediate way in which a human being can share with another the sense of what it is to be a human being.” - Oscar Wilde

MEGHAN CAPPON GRANDMA TZEITEL & VILLAGER Meghan is a sophomore here at San Clemente High School and is so excited to be a part of this year’s production of Fiddler On the Roof. She has been involved with the Drama program since she was a freshman and would like to thank her parents for their patience, ever-lasting support, and always being there to take her to and from rehearsals, her friends for supporting her through everything and putting up with her tiredness at school, as well as Mrs. K, Bob Burns and Tod Kubo for all the time and energy that they have put into making this show a great one! Hope you enjoy the show!

AMY NORDBERG GRANDMA TZEITEL & VILLAGER Amy cannot believe this is her last show at SCHS ... and she gets to do Fiddler On the Roof!! You may have previously seen her as Puck in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, one of her favorite roles, but this time she gets to be a dead grandmother and she could not

be more excited! Amy is so incredibly thankful for all her awesome years in the drama program, and she owes a huge thank you to Mrs. K for these amazing shows. And lastly, she wants to thank you for coming tonight! Enjoy the show.

DIMITRI GARAUD CONSTABLE, VILLAGER & ASSISTANT STAGE MANAGER Dimitri is a student who came from France three years ago and has been in every production since he arrived at San Clemente High. This is Dimitri’s last show at San Clemente and he is very excited to say that being under the direction of Mrs. K helped him grow as an actor and as an individual. He wants to thank his family for giving him the opportunity to be here in California; and also everybody in drama for making high school the best years of his life.

BOBBY SCRUGGS MORDCHA THE INNKEEPER & VILLAGER This is Bobby’s third SCHS musical and sadly his last in high school. He has been onstage since sophomore year and has loved all of it, from Anything Goes, Museum, Curtains and A Midsummer Night’s Dream to Fiddler On the Roof. It couldn’t have been done without the support of his parents, friends and girlfriend. In this show, he plays Mordcha, who runs the inn and is one of the supporting characters. It was one of the more difficult shows, but everyone pulled through, and he is glad that everyone involved enjoyed it as much as he did. It was the best experience in high school.

CARL JONES | RABBI & VILLAGER This is Carl’s fourth appearance on the Triton Stage, and he’s thrilled to be back! He’s ecstatic to be working alongside the cast, crew and director that brought Museum, Curtains, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream to life since fall 2009. A junior, Carl will be

playing the rabbi of the little village of Anatevka, and he’s so grateful to his friends, sister and parents for being so supportive. He hopes you enjoy the show!

MASON BURT | MENDEL & VILLAGER Mason Burt is an energetic, excited young freshman who is very honored to be placed in SCHS’s production of Fiddler On the Roof. Mason has been in only one play at SCHS and some other plays while in middle school. His favorite play so far has been A Midsummer Night’s Dream. He is very thankful for all those who have been getting him to and from rehearsals, and his friends and family who have been supportive and loving. He is looking forward to seeing all the people at opening night.

CHRISTIAN STRAUS AVRAM THE BOOKSELLER & VILLAGER Christian loves improvisation and has been in a play entirely based on improv called Awesome ’80s Prom. He has also been in Voices of the High School. He has been doing theater for three years and loves it to this day. He continues for the love and memory of a friend who has passed away. She introduced him to the theater and if it wasn’t for her, he wouldn’t be here today. This is Christian’s first musical.

EMILY CZAJA SHAINDEL & VILLAGER Emily is thrilled to be a part of Fiddler On the Roof. Previous shows at SCHS include Museum, A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Backstage Crew for Curtains. She would like to thank her parents for driving her to rehearsals. She hopes that everyone enjoys the show. Mazel tov to everyone who worked on the show!

Although this is Ryan’s first year, he is more than thankful to have received a role as Jedediah, the Fisherman in Fiddler On the Roof and is eagerly awaiting for his chance to share the stage with the other actors involved.

Much love to her family, Dad, Mom, Hilary and Jameson.

This is Marley’s first production at the high school and she loves being with the big kids! Marley loves acting, singing, dancing and also playing club soccer for SC United. Marley has been following her big sister’s lead in theater locally since she was 3 and plans on continuing to do so in hopes that one day she will be back on this stage as a student at SCHS.

Kristen is so happy to be a part of her first production at San Clemente High! She absolutely loves to sing and dance, and cannot wait to do it on stage in front of an audience. Working to make this a great show has been a great experience, and all of the people in the cast make doing the show a lot of fun even though its serious and is a lot of hard work. Kristen thinks this is an incredible and very moving show, and thanks Mrs. K for letting her be a part of it.

SEAN BUTLER | THE FIDDLER This is Sean’s first theatrical role, but he is not a stranger to performing on stage. In addition to being a member of the SCHS Chamber Orchestra, he is also a member of La Primavera with the Four Seasons Youth Orchestra. He continues preparing for public recitals by performing solos and in small ensembles with Ashley B. Violin Studios and has, in the past, performed with the Community Youth Orchestra of Southern California. He is thrilled to have the chance to play the role of the fiddler here at SCHS, and he wishes to thank the cast and crew and everyone involved in helping him with this opportunity, especially Mrs. K and Mr. Soto.

LAUREN BROOKINS DANCER & VILLAGER Lauren’s first show at SCHS was last year with Curtains – she had the role of a dancer and absolutely loved it. This year she has also enjoyed the entire process of preparing Fiddler On the Roof. She auditioned last year because of a friend’s recommendation. She had no idea what she was getting herself into, but loved it so much that she couldn’t wait until this year’s show. She would like to thank her parents and boyfriend, Noah, for all the support and understanding of her now-hectic schedule. She hopes you enjoy the show.

bACKSTAGE & TECHniCAl CREW mAnAGERS WILLIE PORTER STAGE MANAGER

SHANNON CHRISTNER HEAD OF COSTUME CREW

Willie is a junior and this is her fifth production at San Clemente High School – and her second as Stage Manager. She couldn’t be more thrilled to be working with the talented cast of Fiddler On the Roof – or more grateful for all the hard work of the amazing Anna Klevit and the rehearsal assistants who help her stay sane. Willie is so happy to be working with her old friends in the cast and excited to welcome all the newcomers. She couldn’t get through the day without her best friends, Kayla and Megan, and sends a heartfelt hug to the seniors taking their last bow on the Triton Stage. Willie could never forget to thank her wonderful parents (especially for letting her drive to rehearsal and feeding her!) and Mrs. K for trusting her, one more time, with this incredible opportunity.

This is Shannon’s fifth production in the Drama Program. Ever since she was a sophomore she has been on Costume Crew and has enjoyed every bit of it. This is her third time as head of crew and she is so excited for another memorable experience. As a senior, this will be her last drama production, and she will miss it greatly. Shannon thanks everyone who has been in the productions for being so amazing and for giving her so many laughs. She also thanks Mrs. K for the opportunity to be a part of the challenging yet wonderful process of the Drama productions. Enjoy the show!

ANNA KLEVIT ASSISTANT STAGE MANAGER Anna is very excited to be a part of her first musical on the Triton Stage! Theater has always been a huge part of her life and she would like to thank Mrs. K for giving her the opportunity to pursue it in high school. After her first experience in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Anna knew that her heart belonged to the theater and did not want to lose the great feeling she got when the show was completed. So many great friendships have come out of this process and Anna feels very lucky to be a part of them. She would like to thank the wonderful Willie Porter for being so encouraging and such a great stage manager! Anna would also like to thank Andie, Christie, Ivy, and Dimitri for helping out during the rehearsals. This experience is greater than anything Anna could have ever imagined, and she thanks her parents for pushing her to get involved in Drama in high school and driving her back and forth in the late hours of the night. Drama has lightened her life!

ALEX DIFANTE HEAD OF SOUND CREW Alex is so excited to be working on his fourth drama production at San Clemente High School. Alex got into audio engineering as a freshman. Since then he has worked on other productions, the dance concerts, Triton Idol, choral and instrumental concerts, as well as other various shows around the community. Alex would like to thank all the kind and knowledgeable people he has worked with.

MCKENNA HUGHES HEAD OF LIGHTING CREW This is McKenna Hughes’ eighth and final drama production on Lighting Crew at SCHS. It’s been a long, hard road, but her four years is up. She can look back at her time in this beaten down cafeteria and know that there will always be a place in her heart for the dinosaur-esque lighting equipment sitting in the back of Triton Center and for Gaddie and all the lampies through the years that have made the stress that is drama

production worth it. She would like to thank her parents who automatically bring her tea when she comes home at midnight after a rehearsal and heads straight to homework; she loves you guys. Adieu for the final time, my supporting and amazing audience.

CONNOR HUTCHESON HEAD OF BACKSTAGE CREW This is Connor’s eight and final production at San Clemente High School. He is keeping up his streak on Backstage Crew, bringing that total to six productions as he takes on the role of head of crew. He is enjoying his senior year and will miss his many friends in Drama. Lastly, he’d like to give a shout-out to any family or friends at the show.

NADIA KURIHARA HEAD OF HOUSE STAFF Nadia is a freshman and is thrilled to work on crew for Fiddler On the Roof! She previously worked on House Staff for A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Nadia loves playing double bass, singing, and participating in color guard. She is happy that she can take part in the production of such a classic musical and she is incredible thankful to everyone for being so incredibly MUSICAL!!!!!

CHRISTIE McCAULEY HEAD OF PROP CREW This is Christie’s third production at San Clemente High School. With one show as a member of the Prop Crew and one show as a walkon, she is excited to be head of crew for Fiddler On the Roof. She wants to thank her friends and family for their support and, of course, the cast, and fellow crew members for all their hard work and dedication.

PRODuCTiOn CREWS ANDIE NIEDERECKER HEAD OF REHEARSAL ASSISTANTS This is Andie’s second time on crew for the Drama Department at San Clemente High School. Her first time was in last semester’s play, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, when she was part of Prop Crew. Andie is very grateful to be part of Drama, for it has been her one of her dreams to be part of plays and musicals.

AnD SPECiAl THAnKS TO ... It takes many hands to bring a show to life. I am so thankful to all of the parent volunteers without whose tireless efforts our show would not be possible. I want to thank each of you for your contributions of time and talent. I hope you have enjoyed the experience as much as I have enjoyed working with your children. – Mrs. K

[

Bob & Sandra Burns: Truly the end of an era! I feel so honored and fortunate to have worked with both of you for a total of 20 shows. More than I can express, thank you for not only the loan of Crosby, Noah and Cassidy, but for your tireless efforts and steadfast loyalty to the Drama program. Bob, on behalf of the countless students you have literally dragged, threatened and coerced into auditioning, and for your work as assistant director, handling dance cleaning and audition workshops, thank you. Sandra, thank you from the bottom of my heart for literally doing anything and everything, for years and years; I’m sure you could write a book on the experience! I will especially miss your calm presence (and quick wit) in the midst of seat reservation madness. (I think we’ll just leave your number on the “reserved seat” letter!) Linda Fry >> Set Artistic Director and Triton Center Signs: Thank you for another amazing set and many years of Triton Center signs. I am in awe of your artistic vision and talent. Deb Adams >> Drama Booster President and Props Adviser: I am so grateful for your talent, unflagging commitment and scrupulous attention to detail, all of which make a huge difference to the outcome of every show. Jan McDuff >> Costumes: Thank you for all the years of incredible work, first as our Booster treasurer and then three years as Head of Costuming. Your calm presence and talent for organization completely revolutionized costuming. I will miss having a McDuff boy in our shows, as well as your supportive family in the audience. Thank you to sewing assistants Hether Cook, Patti Difante and Hilary Perry. Pam Marshak >> Program design and layout: For your creative vision and professional eye that make our programs the best. Thank you for assuming command of this time-consuming, detail-oriented responsibility, we are lucky to have you with us. ... and Tom Porter, for assisting Pam in such a patient and cheerful manner. Thank you for shooting our crews, for all the assistance with our printed publicity posters and (also Pam) for giving us Willie. Another thank you to to Karen Oliver, for all her careful proofreading. Leah & John Stephens: Publicity done to perfection! Posters at school, around town, middle schools; you leave no stone unturned and are a key part of the success of our shows. Thank you also to publicity assistants, Connie Cairo, Greg & Lyn Hall, Melissa Shea and Lisa Stanley. Ally Morris: For your beautiful, artistic design and decoration of our Triton Cases. Tina Klatt >> Wig and Makeup Design: What an enormous job in a show like Fiddler! Thank you, Tina, for your years with us and your hard work and devotion to our program. We miss Hilary, but look forward to many years ahead with Jameson and Jillian. Thank you also to assistants Debbie Cappon and Vicki Corbett. Sherri McCarroll >> Makeup Design: Thank you for another superb job in a very challenging show. Paul Turney >> Head of Set Construction: The man we literally could not do without.
