COSMETIC SURGERY ISO COMPLIANCE LEVELS ACHIEVED USING CAMFIL AIR CLEANERS IN ORDER TO MEET STRINGENT REQUIREMENTS, A SMALL COSMETIC SURGERY PRACTICE IN A NEW MEDICAL FACILITY WAS FORCED TO REPORT WHAT ISO LEVEL THEY WERE CARRYING OUT THEIR PROCEDURES AT. The facility was well equipped with HVAC and appropriate filters however particle counts revealed that only ISO 8 was achievable due to various building design issues. Surgery at this facility requires IS0 7 levels so no dramatic redesign was required.
SOLUTION Based upon the space and layout of the facility, Camfil recommended the installation of the standalone air cleaners equipped with H.13 Hepa Filters. After installation, the air cleaners successfully reduced the particles to ISO 6 at rest conditions in the room which satisfied the authorities that ISO 7 would be achieved during surgery when further measures were taken.
As a result, the facility can now also be used for some skin cancer treatment procedures.
