Coaching Courses CYSA "PRE F" Introductory Course This course will cover the fundamentals of organizing the team, working with parents, establishing a practice regimen, selecting a coaching methodology. This course is free or at a minimal cost and is hosted by the Districts. The course is a must for new coaches, full of useful practical information for coaching a youth team. Parents and/or Coaches wishing to take this course should contact their local league coaching coordinator. Course objectives:  To provide the new individual joining the coaching ranks of CYSA with the most modern soccer coaching methodology available.  To develop an awareness of the need for a soccer education and promote an active participation in the future CYSA workshops and coaching courses.  To make you aware if local CYSA resources that can help you in this exciting venture.  To provide you with general coaching requirements that will make this an enjoyable experience for you and your players. 

Coverage extends to teaching the skills for the First Attacker and First Defender. This is a 9 hour course that combines field and classroom instruction. All hours must be attended for course completion. Coaches wishing to take this course should log on to the CYSA Coaching Course Calendar and follow the instructions to sign-up. Topics:   

This course includes methods of teaching and coaching the goalkeeper, goalkeeper’s responsibilities and The Laws of the Game with respect to the goalkeeping position. Coaches wishing to take this course should log on to the CYSA Coaching Course Calendar and follow the instructions to signup. Topics:   

Introduction/you and your goalkeeper Methods of Coaching/Teaching Basic Goalkeeping skills The Game (Goalkeeper responsibilities) and age appropriate training
