CA4S-ATHENSART SHORT CV CA4S-AthensArt is a non-commercial and non-profitable International Artists and Art Lovers Community. There are no fees either for inscription or participation in all Events, in Greece and abroad. Our philosophy is based on the “Positive Side of Life”, as well as in the “Power of Friendship” that can change through Art the World peacefully. For the last 30 years, the Centre of Arts 4 Seasons (CA4S) created various cultural Events like “Kavafia”, “IaponiaJapan-Japon”, “Multispectacle 4 Seasons”, “Multispectacle Aristophanes Androgyne”, Philanthropic Art Exhibitions in Greece and abroad, published books and produced CDs, organized numerous Conferences, etc. In the year 2010 we realized our first International Arts Festival AthensArt, in collaboration with the Cultural Organization “Technopolis” and under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and the City of Athens, with the theme “The Positive side of Life” and “Friendship through Art can change the World”, and participation of 300 artists from 5 Continents and 65 countries of the World. During 2011 AthensArt has been present in Monterrey/Mexico with Prints for Peace, in London/UK to support victims of HIV in Tanzania and to assist children in Zambia, in Vienna/Austria with a philanthropic exhibition for the victims of Earthquake-Tsunami in Japan, in Piraeus/Greece in collaboration with UNESCO’s Association for Peace, in Rostov Region/Russia with our International Arts Festival and in Ubá/Brazil. In Greece, besides our Syntagma Square exhibition and participation in the Egyptian Cultural Week dedicated to Naguib Mahfouz in Athens, we started our AthensArt Odysseia in “Ambelonas” Corfu, making a second stop in the “House of Culture” of Rethymno /Crete. For 2012 we were present in the State Picture Gallery of Izmail/Ukraine and in the 2nd Egyptian Cultural Week in Athens, dedicated to the 10th Anniversary of Bibliotheca Alexandrina, in collaboration with the Embassy of Egypt. Our AthensArt Odysseia continued its journey in Greece in Naxos in the Former Ursuline School and in Corfu in the Patio of Corfu’s Psychiatric Hospital. On 2013 we have been in Gallery Apartment No 10 of Odessa/Ukraine, and have postponed our invitation from Bibliotheca Alexandria/Egypt for next year, due to political situation. On 2014 we have already been on May in Bispgården/Sweden, on August in Vienna/Austria and on October we will be in Rostov on Don/Russia.

CA4S ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS Our journey to Monterrey/Mexico, started with the enthusiasm of our good Friend and Representative in Mexico, Guadalupe Victorica, to organize, in collaboration with Arte Desarrollo Humano, Prints for Peace México and Centro Cultural Loyola de Monterrey, an AthensArt International Philanthropic Exhibition, from 25/9/2014 - 25/10/2014. All artworks, after the exhibition, will be donated to the Children Public Hospital, Hospital Universitario. The theme of the exhibition is “La joie de la vie”, that’s why all artworks are joyous, inspiring children, parents and doctors in their healing process. The exhibition also hosts local artists. The Administration’s Council of the Centre of Arts 4 Seasons CA4S-AthensArt would like to thank all for their participation. We thank, also, our good Friends Farah and Panos for their contribution in preparing our e-catalogue, in collaboration with the head of our AthensArt Designers’ Group. For 2015 we are already officially invited from Finland, remaining open our official invitation from Bibliotheca Alexandrina of Alexandria/Egypt. Further on, we are in discussions with Dayton/Ohio USA, Albania, Russia, Mexico and Brazil and we plan to renew our presence in Athens and Thessaloniki. Finally, we would like to invite all our Friends for 2015 to our next AthensArt International Arts Festivals and AthensArt Odysseys, continuing in these troubled times, to spread our idea of FRIENDSHIP through Art... Litsa Marandi, CA4S-AthensArt Secretary

HEALING THROUGH ART...

Dearest Friends in Mexico, In AthensArt we feel really honored to be able, through our artworks, to support the needs of a Children Hospital in Mexico, and thank our good Friend Guadalupe for offering us this unique opportunity, spreading our message that Friendship through Art can change the World peacefully… We think that the artist of today has to underline the barbarity of our societies not anymore in a cruel and violent way, but in a satiric and humoristic one, in particular when his audience are children... What is important too, we consider, is to describe with our brushes and colors the friendly societies, we wish to live and share among us with our children... Of course people need money to survive, to have a place to stay, to eat, to be healed, etc, means to fulfill their real needs… But money is not an end in itself… People can find ways to live a full Life, and be happy, without money... But they can never find ways to live without Love and Friendship, they become tense, anxious, sick and die… I often remember the words of Albert Einstein: "If you want your children to be intelligent, read them fairy tales. If you want them to be more intelligent, read them more fairy tales." What are fairy tales? As far as we know, they open our minds, they make us free, that’s why, Freedom can be experienced only by those, who are really Free, through imagination, fairy tales and dreams... Freedom does not

depend on nationality, religion, social class, genre or possessions... Freedom is exclusively a state of Mind... A state of Mind that has overcome fear and anger... A state of Mind that has achieved full Understanding... A state of Mind ruled by Beauty... We wish you all the best in your endeavor‌ Always with Love and Friendship, yours, Prof. Dr. Takis Alexiou, CA4S-AthensArt Chairman

MONTERREY/MEXICO 2014

Last year I was fortunate enough to donate two of my paintings to a Low Socio Economic Hospital and to a Public School in a low SES area of Monterrey. This was made possible to the vision of an artist friend Lolys Cabriales that has been a volunteer for many years at hospitals. I feel happy just to imagine that my paintings are inspiring and comforting people in need. When I shared this painting with my friends of Athens Art, Professor Takis Alexiou liked the idea and decided to cooperate with this project. I was only a means for this exhibit – donation to happen. Arte Desarrollo Humano organizes 6 exhibits a year about printmaking and the themes are peace and human rights. I had never organized something like this and I was nervous. Professor Takis was always supportive, reassured me of the process and was enthusiastic about the outcome. I am glad I believed in his enthusiasm. I am so inspired by the answer and generosity of all artists members of Athens Art. We received all works of art ready to be hanged. I would like for this philanthropic exhibitions and donations to Hospitals to take place in other countries and I will happily donate my art work also. A significant component of my “self” deals with lines, colors, and movements. Colors should embody harmony; for the viewer they should arouse agreeable feelings. With my lines, I would like to show a high level of accuracy contrasting the photo-gram-movements that mirror autonomy. My art serves realization, not entertainment, transfiguration or the play.

HENGAMEH FARAHMAND Hengameh Farahmand was born in Shiraz (Iran) 1962. She lives and works in Hamburg (Germany). The most striking element in Hengameh’s paintings is her passion for vivid colours and oriental motives, which she explores through the use of a wide range of unique mixed media techniques. She often explores themes of love, aspiration, dreams and compassion, often blurring the boundaries between imagination and reality. The surfaces of her paintings are also a very important aspect of her work; the marks and textures and the play of light onto metallic surfaces brings a third dimension to works which often leave viewers transfixed. Hengameh has exhibited her works widely with a prominent exhibition at the Open Air Gallery in Berlin, followed by several international exhibitions around the globe such as, Athens (AthensArt-2010), Vienna Travel Gallery, the Acquire Artsgallery in London, Grekof Museum Rostov on Don/Russia, Veakio open air Theater of Piraeus in Athens dedicated to PEACE and other group exhibitions in Crete, Chora of Naxos and Corfu, International Prints for Peace in Mexico and International Arts Festival Bispgürden in Sweden. Her last work can be seen in seventh international prints for peace in Monterey in Mexico.

BORIS GANTSELEVICH Boris Gantselevich, a sports press photographer, was born in 1952 in Krasnoyarsk. He’s been living in Israel since 1999. Boris has got a collage degree in geography and biology from Krasnoyarsk Teacher’s training college. His photos were published in Krasnoyarsk newspapers and magazines on a regular basis. I am interested in speleology, rock-climbing, traveling and sports. At university I was fond of both – professional photography, mountains and speleology. After this I was also keen on rock-climbing and mountaineering, but I was not quite fit for these kinds of sports neither in terms of health, nor abilities. Since 1974 sledge sports has been getting more and more popular in Krasnoyarsk. The rock-climbers, speleologists and mountain-climbers were those people who promoted it. I became the judge of a republican category in sledge sports, in many competitions. I was also interested in bandy and many other things my life. I began seriously engaged in photography being a college student. But later my hobby has developed into a lifetime hobby. After graduating from college my professional activity has been connected with taking photos and sports. In Krasnoyarsk I worked at the School for Olympic Reserve, and at the Sports Complex/Club for Development of Higher Sports Skills. I also supervised over the children’s club of photo travelers “Light”. Unfortunately, I didn’t have much opportunity to work as a sports photographer in Israel. I had to work very little. There was no work available, and I have got a few other interests. Anyway the passion to creativity is still there. I dream to ride a bicycle from Israel to Russia back home and take a series pictures while traveling.

Making the invisible visible is important for me in my paintings as well as in my seminars and publications. I am very inspired by human beings and their deepest emotions and want to transfer their emotional messages into my artworks. A language which usually remains invisible. I love strong colours, especially red as the blood of life and paint in series on issues that affect me. My paintings do not have any title, because: “The less we are determined from outside, the stronger one’s perception.” is my mayor concern. My favourite material is Oil & Acrylic, Coal, Oilpastels on canvas, paper, wood.

CHILD WITH SPHERES Oil on canvas, 35x45cm, 2013

DEV UDAIYAN Dev Udaiyan My art is figurative, conceptual and abstract – i.e. it is Fabtual and I am an exponent of Fabtualism. My main role is a facilitator between the philosophical works of Deleuze and Guattari, semiotic theory, the bridge between syllogistic logic and symbolic logic and modality as per the self defined axioms of my own artistic confines. So in other words I am a bridge, ‘a neutral’ between syllogisms and symbolisms, between vernacular art and conceptual art (as practised by Sol de Witt, On Kawara and Joseph Kosuth in the late 60-70s). I am currently extending this bridge to capture the theorems outlined by Edgeworth Johnstone’s and Charles Thomson’s figurative paintings. So in other words, you can refer to me as 'The Neutralist' or my art as Neutralic in nature. Coupled with these various dyadic or binary relations, the media I use also has a dualistic/multiplistic nature. I used to be a pure oil painter but I am shifting my technique and consciousness in parallel with the theorems that I am engaging in on a daily basis. I am mixing digital art, traditional art, oil/acrylic/pigment painting and modern curatorial and archival practise to disseminate a series of dualisms or neutral standpoints that I am attempting to question. So Neutralic Tradigitalism could be a word you'll be hearing in the near future.
