Renowned as the Heart of the Shuswap, this region offers a relaxed lifestyle with a great variety of recreational choices and accommodation properties. The area is conveniently located on Highway 1, along the southern shores of Shuswap Lake. Magnificent mountain vistas and great views of the lake, together with many boat launches and beaches, make this region a favourite with lake enthusiasts. The region also offers great dining and a burgeoning cultural scene bursting with music, art, and artisans. The South Shuswap is home to organic farms, an organic brewery, and renowned wineries that welcome visitors to come in and taste the Shuswap’s award-winning cool climate wines. There are winter activities too, in the South Shuswap’s moderate climate: crosscountry skiing, snowshoeing, sleigh rides, and great ice fishing.

There’s loads to discover here – from preserved railway-era buildings and waterfront dining to enchanting cliffs, creeks, and waterfalls. Each of the South Shuswap’s communities - Blind Bay, Eagle Bay, Notch Hill, Skimikin, Sorrento, Sunnybrae, Tappen, Carlin, White Lake, and Wild Rose Bay - are unique. Some are rich in history and others are relatively new settlements. They all have a warm welcome for you!
