If a four-year degree is your ultimate educational goal, BRCC is a great place to get started. You’ll save so much money and time by getting those first
two years of general education requirements under your belt before moving on. Nearly all four-year colleges and universities in Virginia, as well as some private institutions in the state, have transfer agreements with BRCC. Some, like ODU and JMU, even have degree specific articulation agreements with BRCC, so you can be assured that you’ll be admitted to the college of your choice, and that the courses taken here will transfer seamlessly there…wherever “there” happens to be! You’ll be encouraged to meet early and often with a transfer advisor to keep on track. Advisors from James Madison University, Eastern Mennonite University, Mary Baldwin College and Bridgewater College all have offices on the Weyers Cave campus for your convenience. BRCC’s transfer curricula are flexible by design and offer a variety of required and elective course options that can meet the needs of many schools and majors. You can earn an associate degree in: • general education • business administration • teacher education • science • computer science • engineering and be ready to transfer to the school of your choice! BRCC graduate D.J. Diehl had many options to consider after earning his degree here. He could have “hit the working world at full speed” with his associate’s degree, but he was persuaded to continue his education by transferring to Old Dominion. “Since Blue Ridge offers satellite courses from Old Dominion, I was able to meet with some of the ODU faculty without actually traveling to the school. The transfer process was a breeze, and two years later, I was graduating with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from ODU,” D.J. says.
