Voglio raccontarvi una storia! Per questo nuovo numero di Book Moda Bambini sono partita proprio da qui. È una storia che si dipana attraverso il susseguirsi delle pagine, nelle persone, nei luoghi e naturalmente nelle collezioni che, insieme alla redazione, ho selezionato per voi. È un percorso che abbiamo intrapreso un po’ diverso da quello a cui vi abbiamo abituato finora, come scoprirete sfogliando il magazine. Ci piace sperimentare, provare cose diverse, perché in fondo è così che si cresce. E ci piace fare le nostre regole, perché in fondo è così che nascono le nuove tendenze.
A tenere insieme il tutto è la bellezza. Pura e semplice. Che come un fil rouge ha guidato le nostre scelte. Facile parlarne se si tratta di bambini direte voi. Tuttavia, il risultato non è affatto scontato… E le interpretazioni possono essere infinite… Quanta bellezza c’è nell’essere bimbi, nella spensieratezza dell’infanzia. Praticare sport all’aria aperta insieme ai propri amici o divertirsi a prendere in prestito i vestiti di papà. Karl Lagerfeld diceva: “Non mi piace la bellezza di serie. Non c’è bellezza senza qualche stranezza”. Abbiamo voluto rendere omaggio a questa idea, aggiungendo anche che non c’è bellezza senza inclusione. Questo è l’obbiettivo che ci siamo posti di rispettare. Più una piccola sfida. Quella di proporvi un editoriale beauty dedicato al mondo kids. Sperando di avervi incuriosito e “ingolosito” abbastanza, ecco a voi il nuovo numero di Book Moda Bambini. Buona lettura
Let me tell you a story! This is where I started for this new issue of Book Moda Bambini. It is a story that unfolds through the succession of pages, in people, places and of course in the collections that I have selected for you with the editorial staff. It’s a path we have taken that is slightly different from the one you were used to, and you will discover it as you flip over the pages of the magazine. We like to experiment, try different things and this is how we grow up. And we like to make our own rules, because this is how new trends are born. What holds it all together is beauty. Pure and simple. It has guided our choices like a com-
mon thread. Easy to talk about when it comes to children, you may think. However, the result is by no means a foregone conclusion... and the interpretations can be endless... There is so much beauty in being a child, in the carefreeness of childhood. Playing outdoor sports with your friends or having fun borrowing daddy’s clothes. Karl Lagerfeld used to say: “I don’t like serial beauty. There is no beauty without some strangeness.” We wanted to pay tribute to this idea, also adding that there is no beauty without inclusion. This is the goal we set ourselves to respect. And a small challenge too. That of proposing a beauty editorial dedicated to the world of kids. Hoping to have intrigued and “enticed” you enough, here is the new issue of Book Moda Bambini. Enjoy reading.

Vive e lavora a Legnano, provincia di Milano, con i suoi gatti e tre pesci rossi, illustratrice di professione, da poco in libreria con Memorie di uno spirito felino, il suo primo racconto illustrato auto prodotto e con un calendario per il 2020, Marga Biazzi - sincera e diretta, cosa rara - dei suoi personaggi dice che si sviluppano in maniera non programmata, di pagina in pagina assumono la propria personalitĂ , mentre lei si limita solo a cercare di mantenerne la coerenza durante la storia. Marga Biazzi lives and works in Legnano, in the province of Milan, with her cats and three gold-fish. A professional illustrator and now in bookshops with Memorie di uno spirito felino (Memoirs of a feline spirit), her first self-produced illustrated story and with a calendar for 2020 - sincere and direct, a rare quality - of her characters she says that they develop in an unplanned way and take on their own personality page after page while she just tries to maintain consistency throughout the story. 36

Come e quando nasce la tua passione per il disegno? Si è sviluppata con il tempo o fin da bambina eri già indirizzata su questa strada? La versione più “classica”, sin da bambina. Mia madre è mestra di scuola elementare, quindi, in casa mia non sono mai mancati libri: sfogliavo e risfogliavo quelli illustrati per ore e quando ho capito che fare i disegni per essi era un vero lavoro, ho iniziato a percorrere quella strada. Quando, poi, da adolescente ho scoperto i fumetti, ho aggiunto anche quelli alle cose del “vorrei fare”, anche se poi ho messo mano ad essi solo da pochi anni. Oggi questa tua passione è diventata anche un lavoro. Qual è il progetto che hai seguito che ti ha entusiasmato di più? Non ce n’è uno oppure tutti. Essendo una persona molto pigra, l’entusiasmo non è proprio tra le prime cose che si attivano in me la mattina appena sveglia. Faccio un sacco di cose, le mie giornate sono estremamente intense... ma mi lamento sempre e dico che vorrei cambiare vita e avere dei ritmi tranquilli, pure annoiarmi magari. Quindi l’entusiasmo arriva solo a progetto finito, mai durante la lavorazione, con il risultato finale della faticaccia e dei mal di schiena per le troppe ore al pc. Tra tutti i progetti che ho fatto, sono sicuramente molto soddisfatta delle Piccole ballate crudeli, nate come auto produzione e ora sotto l’etichetta della casa editrice Shockdom, e di Memorie di uno spirito felino, il mio primo racconto illustrato lungo, auto prodotto, con dei personaggi ai quali mi sono molto affezionata!

tanto disegnare quanto odio colorare, quindi, la colorazione digitale mi permette di ottenere un risultato gradevole senza farmi pesare troppo questa fase della lavorazione. Posso inoltre cambiare i colori, decidendoli al momento e facendo prove sugli accostamenti migliori, correggere le atmosfere a illustrazione finita... tante comodità che le tecniche tradizionali non consentono. Rimango molto affezionata però alla matita: a parte le tavole dei fumetti, che realizzo direttamente in digitale per questione di tempistiche, tutti gli altri bozzetti li realizzo con foglio di carta e matita.
How and when was your passion for drawing born? Has it developed over time or were you already directed along this path since childhood? The most “classic” version, since childhood. My mother is a primary school teacher and this meant we always had books at home: I used to flip through and through the illustrated ones for hours and when I realised that drawing for them was a real job, I started to go down that road. As a teenager, I discovered comics and added them to the “I’d like to do” list even if I only started working on them a few years ago.
Come nascono i tuoi personaggi? In maniera assolutamente non programmata. Dall’idea di partenza, che visualizzo con uno storyboard brutto (è veramente brutto!), la storia e i personaggi si sviluppano di pagina in pagina al momento, acquisiscono la propria personalità in modo autonomo e il mio ruolo è giusto quello di garantire la loro coerenza per tutta la durata della storia.
Today this passion of yours is now your job. Which project you followed has thrilled you the most? There isn’t one or all of them. Being a very lazy person, enthusiasm is not really one of the first things that come into play in me when I wake up in the morning. I do a lot of things, my days are extremely intense... but I am always complaining and saying I would like to change my life and live at a calmer pace, maybe even get bored. So, the enthusiasm comes only at the end of the project, never during the working process, resulting in fatigue and backache due to the too many hours sitting at the computer. Of all the projects I’ve done, I’m certainly very satisfied with the Piccole ballate crudeli (Little cruel ballads), born as a self-production and now under Shockdom’s label, the pub-lishing house, and
L’ultimo tuo progetto è quello per un calendario illustrato per il 2020. Qual è il tuo mese preferito? Mmmh, non ne ho uno in particolare, mi piace abbracciare la filosofia giapponese che ogni mese e stagione sono speciali per gli aspetti propri che li caratterizzano. Simpatizzo molto per novembre però: amo l’autunno e i colori che la natura assume in quella stagione, soprattutto in quel mese.
Che tipo di tecniche utilizzi per i tuoi disegni? Lavoro in digitale e, solo se costretta, ad acquerello: amo
What kind of techniques do you use for your drawings? I work in digital and watercolour only if I am forced to: I love drawing as much as I hate colouring, therefore, digital colouring allows me to obtain a pleasant result without having to work too much during this phase. I can also change the colours, deciding them there and then and test the best combinations, correct the atmospheres when the illustration is finished... so many comforts that tradi-tional techniques do not allow. However, I continue to be very fond of the pencil: apart from the comic tables that I make directly in digital for timing reasons, all the other sketches are made using pencil and paper. How are your characters born? Unplanned. From the initial idea that I display on an ugly storyboard (it’s really ugly!), the story and characters develop from page to page there and then, they acquire their own personality independ-ently and my role is just that of ensuring their consistency throughout the story. Your latest project is an illustrated calendar for 2020. What is your favourite month? Uhm…. I don’t have one in particular, I like to embrace the Japanese philosophy for which every month and season are special because of the aspects that characterise them. I really like November though: I love autumn and the colours of nature takes in that season, especially in that month.

Chi sono il tuo attore e la tua attrice preferiti? Sono fan di Emma Watson in Harry Potter. E anche di Robin Williams in Patch Adams, mi ha fatto molto ridere, l’ho trovato toccante.
Who are your favourite actor and actress? I’m a fan of Emma Watson in Harry Potter. And also, Robin Williams in Patch Adams, it made me laugh a lot, for me it was touching.

C’è qualcuno a cui ti sei ispirata per il tuo ruolo ne La vérité? È difficile rispondere a questa domanda. Il regista voleva che io fossi naturale e spontanea. Non avevo testi da imparare, ogni giorno mi spiegava cosa dovessi fare e dire in scena.
Is there anyone that inspired you for your role in La vérité? This is a hard question to answer. The director wanted me to be natural and spontaneous. I didn’t have any lines to learn, he explained what I had to do and say on set every day.
E a proposito della moda? Abiti a Parigi che è una delle città più importanti per questo settore, ci sono boutique bellissime e atelier di alta sartoria… Abito a Parigi, città che reputo molto bella e che amo molto. Una parte della mia famiglia vive qui e qui ci sono la mia scuola e i miei amici. Adoro fare shopping con i miei genitori, ma non mi rendo ancora troppo conto dell’importanza di Parigi nel settore. Prima di questa domanda pensavo che fosse Milano la capitale della moda!
And what about fashion? You live in Paris that is one of the most important cities for this sector, there are beautiful boutiques and haute couture ateliers... I live in Paris, a city that for me is very beautiful and that I love very much. Part of my family lives here and here are my school and friends. I love shopping with my parents, but I still don’t realise the importance of Paris in the industry. Before this question I thought Milan was the capital of fashion!
Come definiresti il tuo stile nel vestire? Sei più sportiva o ti piacciono anche gli abiti eleganti? Mi sento a mio agio in abiti sportivi, così come in quelli eleganti, a patto che non prudano, che siano comodi e adatti alle mie attività.
How would you define your style? Are you more a sporty girl or do you like elegant clothes too? I feel comfortable in sportswear, as well as in elegant clothes, as long as they are not itchy, and are comfortable and suit my activities.
Ti sei divertita a fare da modella per le foto di questo servizio fotografico? È stato meraviglioso, mi sono divertita molto! Ho trovato che l’equipe del servizio fotografico fosse molto simpatica e ho adorato la scenografia. Per non parlare dei vestiti, del trucco e dell’acconciatura!
Did you enjoy modelling for this photo shoot? It was wonderful, I had a lot of fun! The photo shoot team was very nice, and I loved the set design. Not to mention the clothes, makeup and hairstyle!
Raccontaci qualcosa di te, quali sono le tue passioni, i tuoi hobby? Ci sono molte cose che amo fare. Sono fan dell’equitazione, amo la musica, vado a scuola di flauto traverso da tre anni. Adoro anche le attività manuali, quando ho un po’ di tempo faccio bricolage, fabbrico bijoux, vestiti e mi piace fare esperimenti scientifici. Guardo molti video su YouTube per imparare a fabbricare ciò che più mi piace.
Tell us something about yourself, what are your passions, your hobbies? There are many things I love doing. I’m a fan of horseback riding, I love music, I’ve been going to flute classes for three years. I also love manual activities, when I have some time, I enjoy DIY, I make jewellery, clothes and I like doing scientific experiments. I watch a lot of videos on YouTube to learn how to make what I like best. 70

Costa Rica, meta paradisiaca per vacanze in famiglia. Preparate la valigia e liberate la mente per andare alla scoperta di questa meravigliosa terra “green”. E i motivi per cui è considerata così sono due. Il primo riguarda la mission che si è prefissata di raggiungere entro il 2050: diventare il primo Paese al mondo a emissioni zero. Spazio quindi all’ecoturismo, al turismo consapevole, per preservare le bellezze naturali del territorio. Il secondo è legato alla sua posizione geografica. Situata nell’America Centrale, la Costa Rica è attraversata dalla foresta pluviale che si affaccia sul mar dei Caraibi e sull’oceano Pacifico. E circa un quarto della sua superficie è costituita da giungla protetta, in cui vivono animali selvatici di ogni genere. Questo la rende la meta prediletta dagli amanti della natura, ma non solo! Perché la sua capitale, San José, è sede di istituzioni culturali. E allora pronti, partenza, via per questo viaggio alla scoperta della Costa Rica!
Che inizia con una curiosità che fa comprendere realmente il perché la Costa Rica sia una meta adatta alla famiglia. Situato in una vecchia prigione presenta più di 40 reperti, che spaziano dal mondo dell’archeologia allo studio dell’universo. E, sempre a San José, si trova anche la National Gallery. Per i bimbi e i genitori che desiderano andare alla scoperta delle straordinarie meraviglie naturali che la Costa Rica è in grado di offrire, è bene sapere che il Paese custodisce il 6% della biodiversità mondiale, oltre 500mila specie di flora e fauna. Uno degli aspetti più entusiasmanti è infatti la possibilità di vedere a distanza ravvicinata animali in libertà. Nel loro habitat naturale.
Per vivere a 360 gradi questa atmosfera “wild” in Costa Rica è possibile praticare un’ampia varietà di attività, come lo snorkeling in piccole “piscine” naturali, le camminate nella natura, le passeggiate a cavallo o quelle in bicicletta per gli amanti del ciclismo. Ma non solo. Tra le tante attività, il surf è la più praticata, per via del facile accesso agli oceani. E in questo caso, le zone consigliate sono la costa caraibica e le coste del nord, centro e sud del Pacifico. Poi, ci sono il rafting, e qui le aree più gettonate sono la Reventazón, il Peñas Blancas nell’Arenal, il Río Corobicí a Guanacaste o la frazione di Sarapiquí-Chilamate, e il canopy, un’attività perfetta per tutta la famiglia, un’esperienza di immersione nella natura che regala il brivido di “volare” scivolando con una carrucola lungo un cavo, affiancati da una guida esperta. E, ancora, il tubling, che permette di ammirare la natura circostante su un comodo gommone. Il windsurf, il kayaking, stand up padding, pesca subacquea e golf.

So, there is a lot of ecotourism, conscious tourism, to preserve the natural beauty of the territory. The second is linked to its geographical position. Located in Central America, Costa Rica is crossed by the rainforest that overlooks the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean. And about a quarter of its surface consists in a protected jungle, where of all kinds of wild animals live. It starts with a curiosity that really makes you understand why Costa Rica is a family-friendly destination. It is customary that the various generations of the same family live under the same roof and public services are reserved to women with children, in many cases. For children who would like to dedicate a few hours of their day to culture, a visit to the Children’s Museum in San José is the place to go to. Located in an old prison, it counts over 40 exhibits, ranging from the world of archaeology to the study of the universe. And the National Gallery is also located in San José. For children and parents who want to discover the extraordinary natural wonders that Costa Rica has to offer, it is good to know that the Country has 6% of the world’s biodiversity, over 500,000 species of flora and fauna. One of the most exciting things is indeed the possibility to see wild animals close up in their natural
habitat. This “wild” atmosphere in Costa Rica can be enjoyed doing a wide variety of activities like snorkelling in small natural “pools”, nature walks, horseback riding, or cycling. And there is much more. Among the many activities, surfing is the most practiced one because of the easy access to the oceans. And, in this case, the recommended areas are the Caribbean and the North, Central and South Pacific coasts. Then, there are rafting, and the most popular areas are Reventazón, Peñas Blancas in the Arenal, Río Corobicí in Guanacaste or the hamlet of Sarapiquí-Chilamate, and canopy, a perfect activity for the whole family.
