Dear Participants, We are very pleased to welcome you to the first South Tyrolean co-production meeting INCONTRI #1. This event is also the first international industry event hosted by the Business Location Südtirol – Alto Adige (BLS), which in 2011 was given the task of administering the new South Tyrolean Film Fund. But at the same time, this event is the newest piece of the puzzle of a great and long tradition that has developed around film here in the region. This tradition began early on and is closely connected to the South Tyrolean Luis Trenker. It has been carried on in the work of the Film Association South Tyrol (FAS), the commitment of the Bozen Documentary Film School ZeLIG, and of course in the phenomenon that is the Bozen Film Days, which are celebrating their 25th anniversary this year. In the 25 years of its existence, this festival has become an integral part of the local film industry. For this reason, it was a given that our INCONTRI were planned to coincide with the Bozen Film Days, an event which attracts an illustrious professional audience year for year. The potential of South Tyrol as a film location has been tapped, but is by no means depleted. The possibilities are great, not only because of the gorgeous landscape, but also due to the stable weather conditions, the bilinguality of the population, and the advantageous geographical location between two different cultural areas – aspects which make South Tyrol predestined to take on a connecting and bridging role in the film industry. This idea of connecting and building bridges was the impetus for this meeting, which intends to bring the film markets in Italy, Germany and Austria closer together. The fact that South Tyrol now also has its own film fund is proof of how important the film industry is to us. With the help of this film fund, we now have the outstanding possibility to not only financially support interesting projects, but also to offer our know-how and active assistance. We would be thrilled for you to discover South Tyrol as a shooting location for your productions and wish you an inspiring stay here in our region. Thomas Widmann Provincial Counsellor

Hansi Felder President of the Administrative Board BLS

Welcome to the first BLS co-production meeting INCONTRI #1 with the motto “3 countries, 2 languages, 1 summit”. We are very pleased that so many top-class guests accepted our invitation. Business Location Südtirol – Alto Adige (BLS) is the location agency for South Tyrol. Our tasks include the promotion of South Tyrol as a film location and the support of film production companies by way of a professional all-around service offering. Since the beginning of this year, BLS also administers the new South Tyrolean Film Fund. The embedding of film within the BLS guarantees the best conditions for a successful cooperation: excellent relations to decision makers in the area and to all potential partners of the film industry from the various sectors within the industry. An important goal of our work results from South Tyrol’s strategic location, nestled between northern and southern Europe, and the bilinguality of the population. From this bridging position, it is our aim to support creative networking beyond the state and language boundaries and to encourage increased cooperation with and between the film production centers in the north and the south, cooperations which, in times of dwindling budgets, are becoming ever more important. As a result, the film fund places particular importance on co-productions between the German and Italian language markets. The INCONTRI are the first active step in this direction, with the intention of becoming a regular event during the Bozen Film Days. Whoever is interested in entering into a cooperation needs to find the right partners and collect information about these potential new partners, know how their markets work – and all that at just the right time, namely during the development phase of a project. The program of our meeting is based on this knowledge. Producers and funders from three countries will come together here to gather up-to-date information about production and financing conditions, exchange ideas and experiences, and develop new perspectives for future cooperations. Beyond that, case studies on current film and television coproductions, pitchings for theatrical, television and documentary film projects, and one-toone meetings will be offered in a relaxed atmosphere. The BLS INCONTRI are meant to offer a comprehensive lineup of information and to support an exchange of information. The best proof of the success of our meeting would be the development of co-productions which we could then support in their further development or production. On this note, we would like to wish you all relaxed, informative and fruitful days here in South Tyrol. Ulrich Stofner Director BLS

Christiana Wertz Head of Film Fund & Commission BLS

Company profile & filmography

Cattleya was originally founded by Riccardo Tozzi in 1997, while he was Head of Production at European TV giant, Mediaset. The following year the company produced two notably successful films: Cristina Comencini’s local comedy Matrimoni and Franco Zeffirelli’s Tea with Mussolini , the latter a worldwide success, distributed by Medusa Film in Italy, MGM in the U.S. and Universal throughout the rest of the world. In 1999 two new partners joined the company: Giovanni Stabilini – former Executive Vice President of Mediaset – and Marco Chimenz – Executive Vice President of Medusa Film. The three partners initiated the expansion of the company’s domestic and international film production slate and began television production activities. This plan was boosted in late 2000 as the publishing and media group De Agostini and the financial group of SanPaolo IMI Private Equity joined Cattleya as minority partners. Capitalizing on the partners’ varied and complementary backgrounds in addition to their close relationships with many of the most significant international co-producers, distributors and financiers, Cattleya has earned its status as Italy’s leading independent producer. It has also cemented its profile as the only Italian production company to offer a more industrial than boutique approach to its core business. To this end Cattleya ensures the efficiency and workmanship of its staff while guaranteeing a creative work environment in constant development. Over the last two years the company has created strong ties with a numerous group of talent boasting elevated artistic and commercial potential. Cattleya’s goal is to achieve and maintain an annual level of production of six to eight new film and television projects featuring the company’s unique blend of attention to quality and broad public appeal. The company, therefore, has recently consolidated and reinforced its television production department, which is now under the management of Maurizio Tini, who, with his depth of experience as an independent television producer, shall enrich Cattleya’s profile in this sector. In addition to affirming its role as a strategic partner to the principal Italian distributors and networks – namely Medusa Film, Rai Cinema and Mediaset – and as a further and fundamental step towards achieving its goals, Cattleya is also particularly focused on productions with international appeal. 20

In 1998 Luigi Musini and Roberto Cicutto, joined Cinemaundici, offering an important contribution to the artistic and dimensional development of the company, also thanks to their relevant experience in the field and to their strong relationships with leading co-producers and distributors. The attention paid to quality by Cinemaundici in the following years is demonstrated by the national and international appreciation of its production. The most important project realized in 2009 is certainly “La Bellezza del Somaro”. This movie, produced with the contribution of the Italian Ministry of “Cultural Heritage and Activities”, co-produced with Alien Produzioni Srl and distributed in Italy by Warner Bros. Pictures, has been written by Margaret Mazzantini and directed and played by Sergio Castellitto. It is a choral movie, sometimes hilarious, that faces a nasty topic as the generational fight with coloured characters and calm atmospheres following one another. Thanks to an exceptional cast and an extraordinary direction, the movie helped Cinemaundici to conjugate the quality of production with the depth of the theme, not to mention the commercial success, with a box office income of € 3.5 million. In 2010 Cinemaundici has finished the filming of “Il villaggio di cartone”, directed by Ermanno Olmi. The movie, not only emphasizes the popular problem of racial integration, but, coming back to a theme the author cares much about, shows how different religions, when free of the heaviness and rigidity of institutions, can meet and find a way to cooperate.

Company profile & filmography In 1992 Ettore Bernabei, former CEO of RAI, and a group of Italian entrepreneurs started Lux Vide with the clear objective to produce high-quality television programs, characterized by strong family and cultural values, to promote a positive message, avoid offensive and violent content, suitable for the widest audiences. To date, Lux Vide has produced over 400 hours of high-quality TV programming for prime-time television, orienting its production choices towards the international market and involving high-profile partners in Europe and in the United States. The company immediately achieved world renown for its “The Bible” series, consisting of 21 primetime nights, one of the largest TV series ever produced, sold in over 140 countries and coproduced with all major public and commercial broadcasters in the US and Europe. Over 24,000,000 viewers in the United States alone watched “Jesus” one of the miniseries of the BIBLE collection. JESUS was nominated for Best Mini-series at the Emmy Awards, while “Joseph” with Ben Kingsley won a Primetime Emmy for Best Mini-series and a Cable Ace for the Best Soundtrack for a TV program. Starting in the year 2000, LUXVIDE greenlit the “IMPERIUM” collection: 6 miniseries about the most significant figures and events of Imperial Rome, shot on location in Tunisia, where the company invested in a permanent “Roman” set. Simultaneously LUX VIDE also greenlit The XX Century collection - primetime miniseries about the most important personalities and events of the XX century: the first one, “Pope John”, broadcast by Rai Uno in April 2002, reached a record high TV rating (52%). “Mother Teresa”, the third in the collection, gained first position in the most viewed TV programs in Italy in the fall of 2003. Other projects of the series include “Soraya”, co-produced with France 2 and the German network ZDF (2003) and, in coproduction with France 2, “Callas Onassis”. In 2005 “John Paul II”, starring Jon Voight (nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Best Actor), was a huge success. The miniseries was co-produced with RAI UNO, the CBS network and the Polish public network TVP. In 2007, “War and Peace” (4x100’) , based on Russian author Lev Tolstoy’s classic, and directed by Robert Dornhelm, involved broadcasters from seven countries in the co-production (Spain, France, Germany, Austria, Poland, Russia, Italy) with 40,000,000 viewers across Europe. One of the partners, the Russian Canal Rossia network is the largest and most influential Russian broadcasterthey had never co-produced a TV series internationally before. More recently, LUX VIDE joined with Lifetime Networks in the US, France 2 and RAI UNO to co-produce COCO CHANEL directed by Christian Duguay. Coco Chanel was one of the most viewed programs for Lifetime, France 2 and RAI UNO. Later this spring, PINOCCHIO will be aired across Europe. PINOCCHIO is a coproduction between POWER in the UK, LUXVIDE and RAI UNO. Finally, LUXVIDE is a leader in the production of domestic TV long running series and miniseries (DON MATTEO and LOVE IN ACTION) with an average of 30% share. 26

synopsis

“You and I” is a novel of little more than a hundred pages, which tells the difficult life of a fourteen-year old from a wealthy family. So as to be introverted at times bad, not arousing great sympathy in the reader, Lorenzo pretends to be equal to its peers because it is easier to do so rather than seeing the unhappy mother and having to go to the psychologist. And in this life pretending Lorenzo invents a ski that will pass, instead of the “friends” (existing, but not unreal as friends), in the basement of his palace. For a week, hidden by all, he will finally avoid disputes, most of all with his parents worried for his yen for solitude and his inadequacy to teenage life. All goes well until the shelter of Lorenzo presents Olivia, his father’s first daughter who will help him to become an adult. Fausto Brizzi and Marco Martani have co-written five of Filmaur’s “Christmas movies” between 2002 and 2007, netting over 150.000 million euro at the box office. Offside has produced a number of feature films and documentaries over the years, while Wildre has gained a solid reputation on the Italian market for tv series for Fox, Fox Crime, La7 and Raitre.

LOGLINE Bella, famous television star and owner of an indebted clinic for cosmetic surgery, has a car accident. In collusion with her husband Bob, she pretends to be disfigured in order to collect the insurance money. Living this lie brings her the admiration of the media and the public, new friendships and a new love. But when she reveals the truth she will lose everything.

synopsis “Belle Vie” is a glamorous, fashionable clinic for cosmetic surgery lying in a valley in the north Italian Alps. It is run by Bob, a forty-year-old surgeon who is addicted to luxury and, in spite of his success, has accumulated countless debts and mortgages. His partner and accomplice is Bella, a beautiful television star in her late thirties. She hosts an enormously successful television show. One day Bella has a serious car accident caused by Mario, a young and handsome laborer who works for the clinic. Bella loses control of her car, loses consciousness and smashes against a tree. Mario pulls her out of the wreckage and seeks help. She is taken to the clinic and is convinced she is completely disfigured. Bob takes advantage of the situation by claiming damages from the insurance company for a large sum of money that would solve all his financial problems. When Bella secretly removes the bandages from her face she discovers that her beauty is intact. Her husband convinces her to go along with the fraud he has devised. Forced to keep her face bandaged, Bella finds herself living with the other patients at the clinic, where she makes new friends and is courted by Mario, who feels guilty for having caused her accident. The coming transformation of Bella’s features makes headlines everywhere, the clinic is stormed by the press. In order to escape the enormous, hysterical assault of the media, Bella accepts the invitation of her new friends to go on a short trip with them to Mario’s little hideaway up on the mountains. At this same time, scientists have predicted that an asteroid might fall onto the Earth. A snowstorm blocks the little group inside the mountain hut for several days and it is here that Bella discovers, thanks to the others, a new sense to her life, the real meaning of sincerity and honest sentiments. She and Mario become lovers and she finally reveals to them that she is not disfigured at all. But her honesty turns her new friends against her, they feel cheated by her. Even Mario distances himself and Bob is furious because his wife has sabotaged his possibility of saving himself and the clinic. Alone and abandoned by everyone, Bella flees the now deserted clinic. She gets into her car and while driving away a fragment of the asteroid that had supposedly bypassed the Earth suddenly lands on her windshield. She is the victim of another accident and this time she really is disfigured. Her new misfortune, however, brings everyone close to her again. Bob solves his financial problems, Mario loves her once more. And Bella resigns herself to getting a new face soon. 39

The twentieth century of Vincenzo Rabito, an illiterate Sicilian.

synopsis

The memoires of a humble Sicilian worker TERRA MATTA was written at the end of the nineteen seventies by Vincenzo Rabito in an ‘invented’ Italian. Even though illiterate, Vincenzo had a great narrative talent which has given us an extraordinary story of the last century. Born in 1899 Vincenzo crossed all of the main events of the century with its wars, its ideologies, the victories and the defeats, the enormous social and economical transformations. Always striving to survive he left the country and lived the dream of African colonization, he went to work in Germany under the allied bombs, he witnessed the arrival of the American troops in Sicily and finally in the sixties he managed to reach a relative welfare with his small family. His story is an individual story, one man against all odds, but also the story of many, all of those who never managed to express themselves in a whole life time. The film will follow his life with a great attention to the faces of the people (young kids living in the country side today, elders talking in the Sicilian piazzas, young and older women in their every day life) and the locations where Vincenzo was born and grew up. Archive images will play a very big role in the film. They will be coming from various different sources and years, from the public image archives and from the private, family heritage of the Sicilians.

The story of three young men going on an expedition across Greenland starts like a fun adventure and ends in a struggle between life and death.

synopsis

In the early 1980s, three young men from South Tyrol came up with an adventurous plan: they wanted to cross Greenland at its broadest point, using a route which appeared impossible. They intended to be heroes, to prove themselves stronger than nature itself. The weather, problems with equipment, mistaken calculations and arguments within the group transformed the venture into a struggle between life and death. This dramatic story, written by life itself and set in an incredible landscape calls for the big screen. We will shoot an adventure movie, full of personal drama, based on this true story. The author Christoph Mayr came across this true story some years ago. His first intention after getting us on board, was to meet those three guys, who were courageous and crazy enough to set out for such an adventure. What is it, that makes a man take such a risk? Patiently and respectfully Christoph Mayr gained the trust of the three men, and convinced them, to do interviews in front of the camera with him.

TWO SEAT ROCKET is a weird but very romantic fairy tale. It is another type of lovestory which is told with a lot of fiction and fantasy.

synopsis

Manuel is in love with his best friend Mia. She is the girl with whom he can be himself, with her he is having the most fun. Sounds easy, but he doesn’t want to disturb the friendship so he decides to keep it for himself. Head over heels Mia falls in love with another guy, a good-looking pilot. That is when Manuel is trying to win her back, but she is not interested anymore. When he thinks it is too late the self-help group of his friend is helping him out. Together they decide to fulfill Mia’s childhood dream. They are breaking into the Technical Museum to steel a rocket, so that Mia and Manuel can fly into space. The young South Tyrolian director Hans Hofer who is having a big affinity to Roberto Benigni, is telling the story in a fresh and unconventional way. The story is not a classical Austrian comedy but is set in a more general humor.

The greatest challenge lies within yourself.

synopsis

Reinold Minach, Leo Degaspari, Michael „Much“ Gratt – three mountaineers from South Tyrol cross Greenland at its widest point in the summer of 1983. With only minimal food provisions and no radio equipment. They are travelling on foot. 1400 kilometers. Each of them harnessed to their sleds. It’s an experiment – mainly a psychological one as it turns out. Only a few hours after the helicopter drops them off in a bay east of the island, the arguments begin. There will be no reconciliation for the rest of their journey. The dispute explodes into a hatred only possible on the tabula rasa of such a location, into hatred per se. After incredible exertions, they reach their destination. Today, at least one of the men believes that hatred was paramount to their survival.

Trying out to find out who killed his godchild Fausto, the old smuggler Cesare has to make a decision between the life of other people and his own existence.

synopsis

lntroverted widower Cesare, called “the German” by local villagers due to his childhood spent in Bavaria, finds the corpse of his Godchild, Fausto, in a secluded valley in South Tyrol. Over many years, Fausto and Cesare had helped African refuges over the border from ltaly to Germany, but from the moment Fausto started smuggling drugs, Cesare ceased all contact. Nevertheless, Cesare decides to cooperate with investigators and sets out to find Fausto’s assassin, but soon realises he too, is threatened. Meanwhile, Sergio, a farmer’s son, discovers that Fausto had not completed his last ‘smugglers job’ before he was murdered. A group of refugees are still hiding in a deserted mountain hut, waiting to be escorted over the border. Sergio goes to Cesare for help – not only to complete Fausto’s last job, but also to escape the boredom of village life. However, crossing the mountain border brings them into unexpected difficulties. Based on the novel by Davide Longo, ‘The Stone Eater’ tells a dark atmospheric tale full of secrets whose answers linger long beyond the end of the story.

Based on the bestselling book “Big and Little Secrets of the Art World” by Danièle Grant and Catherine Lamour (Editions Fayard February 2010 – 8 reprints)

synopsis

The art world has reached summits of immoderation. Even if it is creative, if it is funny, if it is festive, it has often a provocative side. Art has become today’s El Dorado, full of modern “art diggers,” just like the gold diggers in the early days of the gold rush. For many, art has become a new way to get rich quick. Together, the three of us – two journalists and a filmmaker – spent three years inside this closed universe, in order to penetrate its secrets. How it became the incestuous fruit of art and speculation? In 20 years, money has grabbed all the power, relegating esthetes and professionals to a secondary role, and putting financiers at the center of a genuine “Stock exchange of art”. It’s a phenomenon never seen before in the history of artistic creation. Despite its irrational side, the art world lives by one stunning fact: the total sum that changes hands on the market, by those shopping for a steal, is estimated at 50 billion euros. Who pulls the strings of this murky system, the last domain which escapes rules and usual laws of business? Far from being forbidden, the insider trading is even recommended there. In a pertinent and impertinent way, under the shape of a lived adventure, the film is going to tell how the new society of the art, that of the hyper-billionaires, is destroying the former.

His efforts, to get acceptance again get more and more embarrassing. Xari sees his last chance as the Bavarian minister of finance is in Winkl for his holidays. He promises the villagers to talk to him in order to get money for their long planned winter centre. But even this ends in a rejection. In his despair Xari goes skiing for the last time and pretends his death in the mountains. Swap Blackberry for real life or the father of the bride.

synopsis

Even when she was just a tiny baby in her father’s arms he knew that one day his enchanting little daughter would turn into a young woman. He would have to say goodbye to her in installments, ending up a distant observer as she walked off into a normal life on her own long legs. Which makes the shock even greater when reality serves up one hell of a surprise. Father and daughter seemed to be a winning team, with similar crises, attitudes towards life and concepts of happiness. It really looked as though she wanted a similar career to his. Until suddenly she announces she has found the man she wants to spend the rest of her life with. And instead of a fashionable BMW, this man drives a rattling tractor. This man isn’t interested at all in politics, art exhibitions or Blackberries... only in his cow, Annie, who is about to calf. So if the father doesn’t want to lose his daughter completely, he has to take a deep breath and dive into this curious world of alpine meadows, pig-sties and Sunday church: the whole village crap. It’s a complete nightmare! What can be going on in her mind? Actually, she’s dreaming of the family she never had, a fulfilled life, true values and a man who loves her just the way she is. And what does that mean for us, the viewers? The promise of a highly amusing culture clash, a touching father-daughter relationship, a love story that’s romantic despite the cowpats, and a father who comes to realise it actually makes sense to swap his Blackberry for real fruit.

Assasination at Stilfser Notch “But I did see it,” mumbled the shepherd, fiddling with his felt hat. “He pushed the lady into the gorge with his own hands.” It’s the year 1876. On July 15th, Henry and Madeleine Tourville arrive in Spondinig near Schluderns in Vinschgau from London. The married couple wants to enjoy nature and takes a trip to the Stilfser Notch the next day. But hours later, Henry returns alone. Obviously confused, he gets caught up in tangled explanations. His wife fell, he says at first. Later he claims that she tried to end her own life. Lies and deception, as was found out during the trial a year later in Bolzano. Just below the Franz Hill, as witnesses and evidence claim, Henry must have intentionally pushed his hapless wife to her death. An assassination – and not his first. The details that came to light during the trial in South Tyrolean capital were a true feast for criminologists. Henry Tourville, whose real name was actually Perreau, got rid of his first wife and her mother years ago in order to get his hands on their fortune. The international press descends upon Bolzano during the 10-day trial and creats South Tyrol’s first PR campaign. After Henry’s sentencing and death by hanging, many English tourists come with their wives to area, on holiday, to relax, to hike, and perhaps even for the spooky shiver effect.

A Village Drowns – The Tragedy at Reschensee Lake “Graun is on it last leg. Just like someone terminally ill, it is dying, limb by limb. Everyday the water is getting closer and closer, every day explosions are heard, and as soon as the smoke has cleared, another house collapses.” Graun in Vinschgau. Just after the Reschen Pass, a silent witness points out a tragedy which began in the 1920s. Passersby shudderingly look over to the church tower of St. Peter, which rises up out of the water of the Reschensee reservoir. A project which destroyed an entire village, the home and salvation of generations of South Tyroleans. In 1920 the Italian government grants the authorization to raise the water level in the Reschensee Lake some five meters – an endeavour that would supposedly pose no threat for the villages Reschen and Graun. But soon, a big company takes over the commission and the managers’ plans shock the local residents: the water level is to be raised 22 meters, which would result in the literal sinking of Graun. By way of a fraudulent misrepresentation, the residents are tricked into not raising any objections and, although illegal, the government in Rome empowers the company to carry on with its plans. But after the occupation of Northern Italy by the Germans, the plans are stalled and the residents hope that the project will fall victim to the confusion of Second World War. But in 1950, the company drowns out all the hope of the families of Graun, in the literal sense of the word. Despite international protest, despite scientific evaluations and even papal objections by the church, who supported the courageous village pastor Alfred Rieper. On July 16th at 8 o’clock in the evening, the bells in the tower of St. Peter in Graun ring for the last time. Three days later the residents remove the church bell which dates back to 1505. On July 23rd, a Sunday, the church is to be demolished, an attempt which was only partially successful. Like a donjon, silent and uninhabited, the tower still stands as a memorial to the village.

The Legend of King Laurin “Damned be the Rose Garden which betrayed me so shamelessly. May no one ever again see how lovely it blossoms!” The legend takes us back to times past. According to the legend, Laurin reigned over a diligent nation of dwarves. Deep in the Dolomites, they searched and dug for crystals, silver and gold. But not only treasures, also magic from another world came to the fore. A belt which bestowed the strength of 12 men upon its wearer, and a magic cap which made its wearer invisible. Soon, fate would give our little King the opportunity to utilize both. Similde, the beautiful daughter of the King on the Etsch, is to be married. Her father invites all suitors to his court, only Laurin is left uninformed. Insulted and hurt, he vows to attend the party as an invisible guest. Gripped by the beauty of the King’s daughter, he kidnaps her to his craggy empire at the Rose Garden. Dietrich von Bern, honorable Prince of Langobard, and other courageous soldiers suspected what happened. They followed Laurin and confronted him. Despite his magic belt, the little dwarf is threatened with defeat. But then he puts on his magic cap and disappears toward the Rose Garden – and into his own doom, for, although invisible, he comes into contact with the beautiful roses. The noblemen capture him and destroy his magic. Enraged, the Dwarf King curses the beautiful, thorny flowers. No one is to ever see the Rose Garden again, whether by day or night. But dusk ignores the little ruler. And to this day, the Rose Garden blossoms in all its glory everyday at sunset.

The Restless Ghost of Margarethe zu Taufers “It’s not appropriate to take the sentry as one’s husband, on top of it all, he’s from a lower class. But if you do, beware of what will happen to him.” Castle Taufers has a long and scary history. Since its construction at the beginning of the 13th century, countless story-tellers and filmmakers have found inspiration in its dark corridors and maze of chambers for long-lasting spinechilling tales. Probably the oldest of such tales is that of Margarethe. According to the legend, the castle lord’s daughter falls in love with the castle sentry at the end of the 15th century. With her father away on a crusade, she decides to marry her lover. She asserts her choice in marriage despite the fact that the prince-bishop of Brixen, her uncle and her guardian, is not at all happy with her decision. Directly before the wedding, the groom is shot with a poison arrow and dies in her arms. Immediately, Margarethe runs back to her chambers and locks herself in. For days, she stares into the woods, atop the snowy peaks, and across the wide green valleys in search of her lover. To this very day, according to the castle director, her ghost returns to the exact room that overlooks the valley and wanders restlessly throughout the very castle that her beloved groom protected from enemies. And in the chapel, the scene of his brutal death, her ghost pauses to pray.
