Governor’s Newsletter District A-12 District Governor Len Day

My A-12 Lions Family There is lots of work going on in the district. We are working on the new Collingwood Lions Club and the Global Membership Team is doing a great job assisting in this extension work. It really is a team effort. Just think of all the people we can help with this new club. Lots of people are learning about what Lions do and the skills we are developing can be shared in other areas to help increase our service. Planning for the Lions Learning Weekend on April 7 and 8 is well under way and all the sessions have great leaders presenting the curriculum. Thank you to 1st VDG Randy and PDG Chris for all the work that their team has been doing to make this another successful training event. If you have not registered yet, please do so today. The A12 Convention is taking shape thanks to PDG Barb and PDG Dave and the great team working to revamp our convention. Our International guest will be ID William Phillipi from Marysville, Kansas. We are also confirming a comedian to entertain us in the evening. Please ensure you are registered for the convention today if you have not already and remember that all hotel bookings are done directly with the Holiday Inn. A special rate is in effect before March 30 the code is LEO, the Toll Free Reservations number is (877) 728-6191. Plan to come out, learn and celebrate our successes. The Lions A12 Day of service is Saturday, May 6. I hope that we can get every club to do a service project on this date this year. May 6 is a day we want every Lions Club every Lioness Club and every LEO club providing service to their community. The service projects we do are what makes Lions the leaders in our communities. As I have been saying all year the Lions give people a Hand Up in Life. We make sure people get the help they need when they need it. I am asking 2nd VDG Bryon to take the lead on the Day of Service so please let 2ndVDG Bryon know what your club is doing for this District Event. I have been asked by the MDA convention committee to ask if you plan to attend the MDA convention to book you rooms ASAP as a national Volleyball tournament is also in Kitchener the same weekend and they are looking for rooms. The MDA conventions rooms will be released at the end of March. The Camp Huronda Project is getting good support around the District with lots of donations coming in. Please if you plan to make a donation to help rebuild the Camp Huronda Waterfront send your donation to CT Sheila Webb and in the memo line state Camp Huronda Governor’s project. This helps cover 3 of our Centennial Projects as this is going to engage our youth, protect the environment and possibly eliminate preventable vision loss. Let's give the kids that attend this camp a hand up in their life. Let's give the kids a memory that last a lifetime. Thank you all for the work that you are doing as we climb the New Mountains.

we would get a cut on our hydro rate does that mean it's only on 75% if the time? I just hooked up my exercise bike to the tv. If I peddle fast enough I can catch the last few minutes of Young and Restless. Oh let's all have a power failure as everyone is coming home. Rush hour smash up derby time. It never fails. I'm rewiring my new Denon receiver to my home theatre system. 7 speakers. Re configure everything to cut down on spaghetti all over the back of the unit. 2 hours and ready to test ..... no power. Night all! Send help. I can't get out of my chair. Note to self never buy a power lazy boy chair again. Happy Women’s Day. I must say I enjoy it more when a girl asks me out. To me, there's nothing more attractive than that high level of confidence, initiative, and poor judgment. My wife just opened a jar of pickles by herself and I can't help but think that my days around here are numbered... Life Lesson: Never ever, ever do anything you wouldn't want to explain to a nurse in a busy ER. I wish I could feel as happy as an adult, as I felt as a kid when the teacher wheeled in the TV during class. You know what I hate? People who answer their own questions. The human body is roughly 60% water. I'm not fat, I'm flooded. What are the strongest days of the week? Saturday and Sunday. The rest are weekdays. A guy just busted down my door and claimed to be a Bounty Hunter. I said, "You won't take me alive!" He looked at me as if I had two heads, then stole my paper towels. In the first year of marriage, the man speaks and the woman listens. In the second year, the woman speaks and the man listens. In the third year, they both speak and the neighbours listen. My wife sent me a “Get Better Soon” card. I’m not sick, just not very good at sex. "Spring Ahead" this past weekend for Daylight Saving Time proves there is a much quicker way than Facebook to lose an hour in your life.... Daylight Saving Time: I say start it on a Monday at 5 pm. You wouldn't lose the hour on Sunday, and it would shorten Monday.
