Fire Dragon Fire Dragon is a lightweight, environmentally friendly and waterproof solid cooking and fire lighting fuel. It is used by the military and outdoor enthusiasts alike to light fires, cook food, and boil water in all weather conditions. The solid fuel blocks are quick and easy to ignite even when wet, and are also odourless and non-toxic with a clean burn. Fire Dragon is a world first. There is no other fuel like it on the market. Whether in driving rain, the freezing arctic or searing heat, the fuel will perform in extreme conditions.
Why Fire Dragon? UK soldiers have for many years been commenting on their need for a fuel that can be used quickly in combat situations, that is easy to light, safe to carry, and can be used in confined spaces. Whilst the current generation of hexamine blocks used by the military offer an air transportable option, their overall quality is far from what is expected of modern military grade products. Problems with hexamine blocks include formation of toxic gases when used, and large variations in the burning performance of the blocks. Born out of the natural fiery passion of South Wales and its coal mining heritage, Fire Dragon, is the product to fix these problems. Through its tradition of in-house development and collaboration with Cardiff University, BCB International is pleased to offer a truly unique and technically advanced solid fuel.

Key features Fire Dragon is made from UK sourced ethanol which can be used in multi-fuel outdoor cooking stoves, barbecues as well as indoor ethanol fireplaces. We formulated and developed Fire Dragon to help military personnel cook their rations and boil their brews quickly, safeguard their health, whilst protecting the environment.
All weather
Our fuel is non-toxic, weatherproof and made from 100% natural ingredients including ethanol sourced from UK grown grain stocks. It is easy to light, burns cleanly, has low luminosity, is air transportable and our research shows that it boils quicker than Hexamine and other solid cooking fuels.
Fast boil & long burn
Rain, snow, extreme cold, searing heat, Fire Dragon performs in the most extreme weather conditions.
Performance varies depending on cooker and weather conditions, however a block of Fire Dragon burns for approximately 8 minutes (2 blocks - 12 minutes) and boils 500 ml of water in as quickly as just 5 minutes.

Other fuels By basing Fire Dragon on ethanol, a fuel that is more sustainable than traditional solid fuels, we have produced a safer fuel for both the user and the environment. We have also created a product that outperforms similar solid fuels. If the list of Fire Dragon’s features wasn’t impressive enough, our extensive research and testing has shown that Fire Dragon solid fuel offers the fastest water boil time of any solid fuel we have currently tested. Performance varies depending on cooker and weather conditions, however a block of Fire Dragon burns for approximately 8 minutes (2 blocks - 12 minutes) and boils 500 ml of water as quickly as just 5 minutes. Fire Dragon can boil 500 ml of water in 5 minutes. This is over 2 minutes faster than the second best performing fuel. Meths boiled the same amount of water in 7 minutes, hexamine in 7.5 minutes and liquid ethanol gel in 7.75 minutes. That’s a massive 2.75 minutes longer than Fire Dragon.

The system packs neatly into itself for easy transportation and includes a Water bottle, Cooking cup, Cooker, Pouch, Cup lid and Flint & Striker. This high grade stainless steel cup and hard anodised aluminium cooker system fits neatly around the 950 ml (32oz) Canteen Bottle, and then neatly away into a pouch. It is shaped to fit around your body.
