A IBRIEF HISTORY OF BCB started… In 1854 when Dr Brown invented a cough medicine. It was very successful as it contained a lot of morphine. (Sorry we stopped making it 50 years ago). It was issued to the British troops fighting in the Crimea War. So successful was it that a company was set up in 1914 named BCB Ltd., after Browns Cough Bottle. Though we were originally a medical company just after World War II BCB started innovating life saving gear for the marine industry. Our survival kits can still be found in most merchant vessel lifeboats and life rafts around the world. Dr Brown invented Browns Cough Bottle (BCB) for the British troops in the Crimean War.

Browns Cough Bottle was sold to the public in the UK. Developed shark repellent for the U.S. Navy

First ever medical kit for life boats and rafts were designed and manufactured.
