LINDY FURBY

Acrylic & mixed media

Collagraph & drypoint printing

James is a self-taught east coast artist with a love of colour in landscape. Over the last few years he has been experimenting with sunsets, soldiers and local scenery. This year sees him explore the woodland areas of Pitlochry.

Amanda loves experimenting with colour and aims to evoke a sense of nostalgia and energy in her work. Inspired by a love of nature, her work includes landscapes of favourite places, animals and figurative works. It’s an eclectic mix!

Karen’s mixed media images, inspired by the outdoors, are her emotional response to time and place. Repeated journeys in different circumstances inform the colour, texture and energy of each unique piece

Lindy travels around Scotland in her camper van, watercolour painting en plein air. Back in Edinburgh she makes her images into collagraph plates and prints them at Edinburgh Printmakers.

PATRICIA KANE

Mixed media

Mosaics

Acrylic & mixed media

Kirsten is a Scottish artist working in acrylics, watercolours and mixed media. She exhibits throughout the UK and has an online presence. Kirsten is artist in residence at Hangar Art and Framing at Fenton Barns.

Living in Prestonpans, Kerry loves to paint local scenes and people going about their daily lives. Kerry welcomes you to come and view her work of framed originals, signed, limited edition giclee prints and printed mugs.

Len is retired and living in Edinburgh. Ideas for his work come from the carved symbol stones of the Picts, Celtic art and cave paintings of the first artists.

Patricia’s work is divided between still life and landscape, and would probably be described as semiabstract. She loves colour & light and enjoys a bit of experimenting with collage and layering. She finds the whole process very satisfying.

KAREN ROGERS

JANET MCCRORIE

DAVID SMITH

Sterling silver jewellery

Acrylic & mixed media

Mixed media

Wood

Elfy is a range of elegant and unique silver jewellery.

Whatever Karen’s subject of interest, she uses collage and builds up different layers in mixed media. She is interested in the marks we leave on the landscape over time and in contextualizing the landscape.

Janet’s paintings are about movement. The flying tartan and colour of a ceilidh and the familiar shapes made when a dance or sport requires the body to move in a particular way. She wants participation from her audience.

Wood is a medium that has always fascinated David and his work involves turning and pyrography. Now retired, working from home suits him very well. There is so much to discover inside a piece of wood, different grains, colours and figuring.

Stunning designs made by hand and inspired by geometric and organic forms. Instagram: amyfindlay1482

QUINTIN YOUNG

ROBERT MCCOLL

REBECCA DOVER

KAREN CHAPMAN

Quintin was attracted to painting as an optional subject while studying Architecture in Glasgow School of Art in the 60’s. Always living in close proximity to the sea is reflected in his work i.e. East & West Scotland, travels in France, and Nova Scotia, Canada.

Pen and Ink

Acrylic on canvas

Acrylic

Robert is a self taught artist with an interest in the weird and wonderful. This year’s exhibit shall focus on single-line drawings of birds and various bird paintings to follow on from the crow theme of last year.

Rebecca paints large scale abstract East Lothian seascapes in acrylic on canvas using a combination of bold strokes and watery textures.

Karen is interested in the connection between exterior and, personal, interior landscape. Not the immediate image but the remembered – dreamed – changed – image. She hopes the viewer will gradually be drawn into a different world.

Claire’s life by the sea in Portobello is her inspiration, along with travels further afield. Her prints and paintings reflect these influences. Birds have been a focus but her work is now broadening out in its subject.

Donald is a landscape painter working mainly in acrylic. His work is semi abstract and seeks to evoke the atmosphere of the coastal, woodland area where he lives in East Lothian, though some is inspired by Mid Argyll where he come from originally.

Jon is a visual artist based in Leith. His practice mainly explores the urban landscape, narratives associated with past events and abstract compositions inspired by the world around him, working in a variety of media and techniques.

Andrew is a Haddington-based photographer with a love of East Lothian and particularly the coast. For this year’s exhibition he has however decided to exhibit images from his many trips to Italy.

IONA MOLLESON

EDINBURGH INKY FOX HELEN WYLLIE

LINDA LINCOLN

Acrylic on canvas

Pen and ink & watercolour

Print, digital

Original prints

Iona Molleson studied Drawing & Painting at Edinburgh College of Art. She enjoys painting outdoors to capture the light and colours of East Lothian, changing through the seasons, from direct observation and inspired by Robert Noble RA RSA.

Ink & watercolour works, cards, prints etc of the Inky Fox character having adventures around the city and coastline.

Growing up in East Lothian, Helen’s sense of home was about the three peaks (Bass, North Berwick and Traprain) that surrounded her, and it’s this geography that inspired her into illustration and keeps her creating. That, and her Bass Rock obsession!

This year Linda has been working mainly in black and white. She has a selection of Celtic inspired prints, both framed and unframed. Working without colour can be very satisfying and leads to striking and dramatic works on paper.
