your life with your daughter, Bebelle? GG | I’m combining two apartments to make a space that my daughter can really grow up in. It feels like a beautiful, quiet treehouse in the middle of the most insane city in the world. It’s how I give her and myself some balance and peace. I wanted a space that could house lots of kids, outdoor space so my daughter isn’t an alien to nature, and space for family to hibernate so people can visit more often. Beyond that, [I’m excited about] my kitchen. If I weren’t a designer, I would be a chef. I spend an incredible amount of time in this space and it’s gonna be dope!

which is now her desk. I think it’s important to include ancestral pieces in children’s rooms. I want her to know what old wood and good craftsmanship feels like, sounds like and looks like. You also have a new digital magazine app coming out, Real Genevieve! Talk to us about how you came up with the idea. GG | I do! This spring, I’m launching my own magazine as well; I thought it was time. There is a lot to say and show that doesn’t fit into 22 minutes of TV. I can speak more specifically to design, design needs, trends, and break into a broader platform of lifestyle. It’s pretty exciting.

We’re certain Bebelle must have some input in designing these new spaces! If she had it her way, what would we see in your home? GG | She did have it her way! It’s pink, but a beautiful pink that I wouldn’t hesitate to put in any home. I think children’s imaginations should always lead, especially in their spaces. It’s our job to introduce them to elegance, history and balance.

How did you design your daughter’s new space? GG | There is a big swing in the middle of her room— why not? It cost about $20 to make and it’s the showpiece. Her great grandma’s bed has been refinished and is now hers, as well as her great-great grandma’s vanity

Moms must learn to juggle, especially when they’re filming a show, renovating a home, and keeping up with a little one! How do you manage to stay chic on the go? GG | I’ve been a dust ball this last year, but that can be chic too— not kidding! I think I got more complements on my dressed-
