Desserts themselves are also trendy. What is the hottest dessert to have on your table in Australia? The cake pop is still popular in Australia—although I am a big fan of the cookie version which I find simpler to make. Desserts on sticks or in jars are the big thing now. Cute packaging is also really popular. How much should an invitation direct a party in theme and color? An invitation is a huge influence on a party – it sets the scene for what is to come and allows you to really extend the theme from beginning to end. What are some of your favorite ways to add spice to party décor? Backdrops and props are a great way to add something extra to your party – they don’t have to be things that stand out but they really help to tie things together. DIY projects in parties make everything so much more personal. What DIY projects are popular in Australia? I have become a little obsessed with stamping words on cutlery or labels to add a personalized touch. A little spoon with the birthday person’s name on it looks just fabulous and every child loves to see their name in lights. Other great DIY projects involve scouting around for great backdrops – whether it be a fabric/ribbon backdrop or making bunting.
