Statement of Intent Rationale I have written briefs to match my interests. I want to design logos, create and use my appropriately designed typefaces, advance my packaging skills and push my dexterity in book making. I want to become more confident in each of these areas; some more than others, and I want to succeed in the outcomes I create.

Statement of Intent I will produce a range of advertisements for brand of sports shoes, which will be targeted indirectly towards to the elderly through their close relations. I will create posters which would be placed throughout the town centre, ad shells, and a range of postcards which would be practical although would still deliver the actual message. In order for me to design and create my proposed ideas, I will use a variety of media to ensure I get the best possible outcome.

BRIEFS

I have used my summer experiences to help me write some of my briefs. I have also used past briefs to influence both my outcome and brief topic choices. 3.

RESEARCH

As I have used my own experiences during the summer to write my briefs, I already have various pieces of research. I can talk to not only new people, but also the people who shared my experiences. As it stands, I have a fair amount of primary research, which will help influence design direction. I have various contacts, photographs, websites, leaflets and an assortment of objects, which will aid most of my briefs. 4.

PRACTICAL DEVELOPMENT

Although I have an interest in photography, I’m not 100% sure about using the settings. I will have to make sure I take advantage of the lecturers of technicians to help me understand as much as possible so I can take high quality photographs. I will be taking advantage of the mac suit during the entirety of this brief. The digital dungeon will be the main place to print the final outcomes to ensure they come out in the best quality possible.

RECORDING, DOCUMENTATION & EVALUATION

I take my digital camera everywhere I go in case I want to document something; I feel secure knowing it’s with me. It has come in very handy this summer during visits I have taken. Taking photographs of the simplest things can inspire me to design and create something big later on.
