There’s something sexy about watching people get down on the dance floor to the rhythmic beats of Brazilian samba and seeing them sway and rock to island reggae. It’s even sexier when a funky live band is playing and setting the tone for the entire venue, creating an atmosphere not unlike an urban makeshift dance party being held in the streets of some exotic location like New Orleans. Her body begins to lightly pulse with each hollow tap of the drum, forcing her hips to strike from one side to the next in an attempt to move with the sound waves rushing through the air. Her arms slowly lift to the sky, allowing her fingers to swirl the notes floating through the crowded room like an orchestra conductor waving his baton. She is joined by others. Everyone is rocking, grooving to each instrument’s flavorful tone, each body contributing to an overall chilltastic vibe. You could be her. We could be them. All of us who live for music, culture, rhythm, and dancing should check out Delta Nove at The Sail Inn this Thursday in Tempe. Delta Nove is known for their rock-reggae-samba-funk music and has been touring the country for over ten years. Thankfully, The Sail Inn is known for hosting local and indie bands like them, giving Mill Avenue goers the option of seeing live music performing on a stage instead of on the street. Thursday, February 9th. 9 pm – 12 am on the outside stage. 26 S. Farmer Ave, Tempe. Ages 21+ Arizona Blues Showdown at The Rhythm Room It’s that time again.
