This hybrid play weaves a bittersweet tale of one man’s lengthy – and we do mean lengthy – struggle in New York. His send-ups on his family, career, childhood and misbegotten lovelife are as warm and poignant as they are hysterical. For Zimmerman, it’s been worth the wait as the show is being seen by audiences nationwide. His career now includes opening for the late George Carlin and being Joan Rivers’ opening act going on eight years. “I’ve had three great opening acts in my lifetime: Billy Crystal, Garry Shandling and Brad Zimmerman,” Rivers said. He’s also worked with Dennis Miller, Julio Iglasias and Brad Garrett, and he played Johnny Sack’s lawyer in “The Sopranos.”

Through February 2nd at The Herberger Theater Brad Zimmerman waited tables for 29 years while chasing a career in acting and comedy, so waiting until his mid-50s to perform on stage seems so logical. Zimmerman will tell his hilarious and sometimes-poignant story when “My Son the Waiter: A Jewish Tragedy” comes to the Herberger Theater Center now through February 2, 2014. Produced by the same group behind “My Mother’s Italian, My Father’s Jewish & I’m In Therapy,” “RESPECT: A Musical Journey of Women” and “A Jew Grows in Brooklyn,” Zimmerman’s story combines his training as an actor with years on the standup comedy circuit. If you’ve ever longed for something; if you ever desired it with all your heart; if you were willing to wait tables for 29 years to pursue your dream, My Son the Waiter will give meaning to your life!

The show has generated much buzz while delivering an inspirational message: if you can find something in your life that you truly love, that gives your life meaning, and you don’t give up under any circumstances, it can make for a meaningful and rich life, no matter the outcome. “My Son the Waiter” is a performance for anyone who aspires to get the most out of their talents and is willing to stay the course. Performances are scheduled at 2 and 7 p.m. on Wednesdays, 7 p.m. Thursdays, 8 p.m. on Fridays, 2 and 8 p.m. on Saturdays and 2 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Sundays. Ticket prices are $39.50-$49.50 and can be purchased online at www. herbertheater.org, at the Herberger Theater Box Office, 222 E. Monroe, or by calling (602) 252-8497. ROLLER DISCO AND GREEK MYTHOLOGY COLLIDE IN OUTLANDISH BROADWAY MUSICAL XANADU Presented by Arizona Theatre Company Arizona Theatre Company brings the tongue-in-cheek, award-winning hit Broadway musical Xanadu to the Herberger Theater Center, 222 E. Monroe, in Phoenix from Dec. 31 – Jan. 19. In this hilarious Broadway musical featuring classic ELO and John Farrar hit songs, the beautiful Greek goddess Clio, disguised as the Australian-accented mortal Kira, is sent by Zeus on a quest from the heavens to inspire the young beach-boy artist Sonny Malone to achieve his roller skate-fueled obsession to open a roller disco. Based on the famous 1980 movie starring Olivia Newton-John and Gene Kelly, their disco-driven rolling adventure is surrounded by popular hits from the ‘80s like “Magic,” “I’m Alive,” “Evil Woman” and, of course, “Xanadu.” Directed by Arizona Theatre Company Artistic Director David Ira Goldstein and featuring real-life husband-wife team Jessica Skerritt as Kira, the magical Greek muse, and Dane Stokinger as Sonny, the Venice Beach street artist, Xanadu has earned consistently rave

reviews during its current run in Seattle, where it is a co-production with Village Theatre in Issaquah and Everett. Skerritt and Stokinger are making their ATC debuts. “Xanadu is about roller skates, mirror balls, muses with unpronounceable names, the peculiarities of Southern California beach culture, and just plain fun,” ATC’s Goldstein said. “But at its heart it is a valentine to the power of love and its ability to inspire invention in our lives. Playwright Douglas Carter Beane and his talented collaborators, who treated Xanadu the movie as their own muse, have creatively transformed cinematic straw into Broadway gold by adding an actual plot, inventing new characters and situations, stirring in a few extra ELO/Olivia Newton-John hits, adding a knowing wink and barrels of humor, while inventing freely around the basic outline of the movie.”

“The Purge,” which could effectively be categorized as a “what-if white knuckler,” is as thought provoking as it is hair-raising. Inciting questions about everything from mankind’s necessity for release of pent-up anger to society’s desire for economic equilibrium, it leaves viewers unsettled and uncertain about civilization’s foreboding future.

Overlooked, Must-See Films of 2013 (Alphabetical) Most of these quietly came and went from theatres, which is highly unfortunate. It is amazing how a director and cast with little to no budget can create such deep and memorable cinematic experiences. Despite their worthiness, mass audiences choose slapstick humor and comic book hero action over thought provoking dramas and foreign language films. For those looking for an experience outside the Hollywood box, these ten are sure to please. ‘The Hunt’ is an engrossing drama, while ‘Frances Ha’ is a modern day comedy. ‘Short Term 12’ is a prime example of effective indie cinema. 1. their themes of love, fear, heartache and enchantment and simply being emotionally and intellectually open to their delineated rides, these will be the films with which I associate the past year.

12. ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’ “The Wolf of Wall Street” is epic in every conceivable way, coming across as some sort of crazy party during which revelers go through every experience imaginable. In fact, it is easily and without a doubt director Martin Scorsese’s best work to date, featuring a performance that runs the gamut by star Leonardo DiCaprio.

Any given movie speaks to each and every person differently. The way that they do is often dictated by all of the experiences he or she has had in life leading up to that precise moment in time that they see that particular motion picture. Granted, sometimes entertainment value alone rules the day but even that is entirely subjective, governed by an individual’s background and, in many cases, immediate mood.

“Nebraska” is an extremely simple but exceptionally special feature film, rewarding patient viewers with an enjoyable journey that includes a vociferously hilarious misunderstanding involving an air compressor and an emotionally resonant destination that delivers one of the most life-affirming movie moments of the year.

Whatever the circumstances, these are the 12 movies that meant the most to me in 2013. In some way, shape or form, they spoke to me. Again, they may or may not affect you but, between identifying with

8. ‘Before Midnight’ “Before Midnight” is deep, meaningful and realistically romantic. The melancholic insights and revelations about time’s impact on true love are devastating, hitting viewers in their guts like a ton of bricks. But because they are reflections of reality rather than some fairy tale, they culminate in this franchise’s most emboldened ending yet.

7. ‘Inside Llewyn Davis’

11. ‘Nebraska’

Joseph J. Airdo’s Top Twelve Movies of 2013

“Disconnect” is deeply disturbing, packing a punch that is so powerful that viewers may be unnerved enough to essentially do exactly what the title insinuates as it says something strikingly significant about alienation in a way that will leave you incredibly captivated and extremely engaged from beginning to end.

Moving viewers through melancholy, the Coen brothers’ latest effort “Inside Llewyn Davis” is not only a poetic observation of how struggle inspires art but also an extremely entertaining satire of folk music history, filled with wry laughs and a soundtrack that you will want to own the moment that you leave the movie theater.

6. ‘Captain Phillips’ “Captain Phillips’s” relentless intensity causes you to dig your fingernails

5. ‘Snitch’ “Snitch” provokes intellectual thought while also stimulating extremely sharp. It exhilarates viewers not with action but with cleverly calculated suspense. You will not emerge with your nerves unfrayed from this tension, your spirit unbroken by this social injustice or your heart unaffected by this father’s defiant dedication to his son.

4. ‘Blancanieves’ “Blancanieves” is a celebration of cinema, Spanish culture and the fairy tales that shaped not only our childhood but also the fine art of storytelling in general. It keeps you enthralled, enchanted and entranced. It is bold, it is beautiful and it is a bona fide masterpiece of a motion picture that will take your breath away.

3. ‘You’re Next’ “You’re Next” will not only scare the living daylights out of you but it will also afford you one of the most frighteningly fun times that you will have while watching a movie all year. It does so by geniusly toying with the horror genre’s contrivances (of which there are many). The end-result is a uniquely engaging experience.

2. ‘Frozen’ “Frozen” is fantastic. In fact, Disney’s new film is not only the best animated adventure of the year but also a remarkably triumphant return to form for the studio as it stuns with breathtakingly beautiful visuals, magnificent musical numbers, wonderfully fun characters and a simple-yet-engaging story with a universally meaningful message.

By Santino Defranco Here in print, I am incapable of producing a video that can transcend mediums, which is why you aren’t seeing an Internet GIF of a head exploding—the only appropriate way to adequately explain my feelings for St. Francis Restaurant, in central Phoenix. You will just have to take my word for the amazement that is St. Francis, then immediately take your entire paycheck and deposit it into some sort of debit fund that you can deduct purchases from St. Francis’ tantalizing menu. Upon entering the swank eatery just east of Central Ave. on Camelback Rd. you will notice the indoor/outdoor bar, offering patrons a taste of the beautiful December weather Phoenix is known for while drinking Mimosas or Bellinis. Inside there are stainless steel tables that sit next to the exposed red brick walls and bright colored murals on the wall. And, what’s that…a live jazzy scat band playing music midmorning on a Sunday during brunch? Why yes.

Yes it is. That said, this place could be a cardboard box in Maryvale next to police tape from a triple homicide and it would still be the gem it is. For the food: exquisite! My wife had the Tomato Baked Eggs with tomato sauce, crispy fingerling potatoes, cheese blend, and herbs—served with toast; I had the Pork Belly and Squash Risotto with parmesan, rosemary & orange blossom honey; and my children had the Iron Skillet Pancakes that had chocolate chips inside, and may possibly be the best pancake I have ever tasted, oh yeah, their meals were free as children 10 and under always eat free at St. Francis. Every single thing we ordered was beyond humanly delicious. The staff: fantastic! My risotto came out without the changes I asked for and our waitress immediately took the food back, comp’d the risotto, and brought out a cinnamon roll with caramel sauce for me to eat (free of charge, of course) while I waited for my risotto. And, even

oll Rock n R

with all of that, I haven’t even gotten to the best part. Jokingly, when our waitress asked if I needed anything else after they brought my risotto back, I said, “You don’t have any toys to play with for our children that have pretty much had their fill, do you?” Her response, “We actually keep an entire box of toys that we disinfect after each use. I’ll go grab you a few.” Now that’s service from people that understand the hardships of taking your children out to eat!

WORDS FROM THE WISE

We spend January 1 walking through our lives, room by room, drawing up a list of work to be done, cracks to be patched. Maybe this year we ought to walk through the rooms of our lives... not looking for flaws, but for potential. Ellen Goodman

Drop the last year into the silent limbo of the past. Let it go, for it was imperfect, and thank God that it can go. Brooks Atkinson

Cheers to a New Year and another chance for us to get it right. Oprah Winfrey Setting goals for the New Year is the first step in turning the invisible into the visible. Anthony Robbins

Tomorrow is the first blank page of a 365 page book. Write a good one. Brad Paisley

When the effective leader is finished with his work, the people say it happened naturally. Lao Tzu

We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called Opportunity and its first chapter is New Year’s Day. Edith Lovejoy Pierce Introducing the first verbal coupon site for local daily deals.

1 p.m. on FS1

A musician/singer and a songwriter combine their talents, but adventure is always soon to follow.

It’s not that the initial horror film needed a second chapter, but the kind of box-office success it had usually spells “sequel.” Patrick Wilson and Rose Byrne are back for director James Wan — who also guided Wilson in “The Conjuring” — as the couple who face torment from otherworldly forces again. Solid performances by the cast, also including fellow returnees Barbara Hershey and Leigh Whannell (who’s the screenwriter here as well), help.

A SUREFIRE WINNER Scottsdale’s Starfire Golf Club is worth the trip every time By Teresa Gardner There’s a lot to like about Starfire Golf Club. The scenery, challenging yet conquerable holes, price, convenience and all those trees (I’ll explain later) make playing Starfire a pleasant golf experience. It may not be the finest course you’ve ever played, but you’d be hard-pressed to find a better course for a better price … anywhere. Situated in north central Scottsdale, Starfire features three 9-hole courses with plenty of variety — thanks to Arnold Palmer, who designed the “King” course in 1988 and redesigned the “Hawk” and “Squire” courses to give golfers more water and sand to negotiate. You can’t be bothered by water when you play Starfire. On “King” alone, six of the nine holes have some configuration of water — some bordering on island-type

greens. A favorite is the par-3 fourth with a beautiful view of the McDowell Mountains looming above the waterscaped green. While the course is manageable in terms of length (I played from the women’s tees on “King” and “Hawk,” which totaled 5,084 yards; 5,630 from the whites), the par 3s were uncharacteristically long and a bit challenging. Three of the par 3s measure 203, 197 and 232 yards. Starfire, overall, is short enough to be a very comfortable course, especially for women, who are not big hitters. Some big bashers could almost drive the green on “Hawk’s” third and seventh par-4 holes where distances range from 288 yards for women to 319 for men. The course is mostly level and has gently rolling terrain with wellmaintained fairways and smooth putting surfaces. Some holes are extremely scenic; however, the “King”

course, in particular, is spread out and you’ll cross roads through some neighborhoods with traffic noise from major roads nearby for part of the game. On all par 4s and 5s, there are 150-yard stakes to mark distance and direction. Four sets of tees are available on each hole. The tee boxes and greens at Starfire are in particularly good shape. Now, about those trees. The course is lined with mature eucalyptus, pine and cottonwood trees. While trees normally present problems for golfers, the fairways at Starfire are not so narrow that the abundance of trees wreaks havoc on the scorecard. On the contrary, the trees are welcome relief along the way providing shade from the hot desert sun. (Although playing in 100-plus-degree temps, we never felt hot — thanks to the trees that seemed to be positioned perfectly for shade every time we parked the golf cart.) Starfire is more than just a golf course. It’s a full-service clubhouse with a pro shop, meeting and banquet rooms, an outdoor terrace, and the Scottsdale Grille restaurant/lounge offers full menus for breakfast and lunch. We

ordered huevos rancheros and the Classic Breakfast accompanied by fresh-squeezed orange juice. Delish!

Scottsdale Grille supports local farmers, producers and artisans. This summer, Scottsdale Grille offers Pasta Night every Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. for $15.95; featuring all the pasta you can eat with a free glass of wine. Starfire Golf Club offers more play for your pay than other courses in the Valley and it’s convenient. From the 101, take Shea Boulevard to North Hayden Road. Drive a quarter-mile north on Hayden and enter the golf club on the west side of the road. Starfire Golf Club offers a stellar golf experience with variety, challenging yet confidencebuilding holes, easy-toget-to facilities, scenic mountains and trees (with lots of cottontail rabbits) for a price that won’t pester your pocketbook. If you can swing it … Starfire Golf Club is worth your time — every time. For more great sports and lifestyle info, read AZ Sports & Lifestyle Magazine. www.AZSAL.com

I feel that I am pre-disposed by nature to great expectations. Throughout my life, no matter how troubling or challenging the circumstances, somehow I always expected things to work out well. Even during the days when as a teenager, I was living on the very mean streets of Chicago, Illinois…enduring the cold winter days and nights and the summer nights not much better with the heat, mosquitoes and leeches. Even though I was living in gas station restrooms, abandoned cars and vacant lots… I never felt it was permanent. So, I was not surprised by my eventual success. Even then, I expected it, in a way. I mean, I never really expected anything else. I didn’t know HOW it would happen, certainly I didn’t know WHEN it would happen, but I sincerely expected it TO happen. I thought of this recently while being visited by an old friend and my former boss from my first real job. I was excited about Bob’s visit because we had lost contact and hadn’t seen each other or even spoken in over 30 years. Because I had always looked up to and respected Bob, I was eager for his response to the person I’d turned out to be. I asked him the inevitable question, “Are you surprised to see the things I’ve accomplished?” Bob replied, “Well…I’ll tell you, I just never expected anything else from you, so there is really no surprise at all.” I guess a part of me wanted him to be surprised, but his answer was also no surprise. Yes, no surprise at all excepting the miracle of great expectations… having positive expectations is a way of setting up miracles to happen and anyone can do it.

Expectations are a feeling. When you get the right feeling prior to any event it actually generates the energy, the attributes and qualities needed to attain the desired result. In a way, you are always acting as a fortune-teller for your life by the way you talk and act about how you expect things to work out. Most of the successful men and women I know have attitudes of confident, positive self-expectancy. They expect to be successful, they expect to be liked, they expect to be happy, they expect to be healthy and they are seldom disappointed. As my old friend and former boss, Bob said, “All I ever expected from you, Mack, was for you to always be you and I knew good things would happen.” I further believe that great expectations are the servant of a persons’ will. There, waiting to do your bidding. Waiting to create a miracle. Available at any point in time to carry you to a higher plane of accomplishment. I realize that this is far from explaining the entire nature of it, nor does it explain why some people appear more motivated or serious about their lives than others. Maybe it’s because some have a deep-rooted sense of the reward related to it and possibly the joy that will ultimately come from meeting the challenge of whatever the goal is. Some say, “I expect nothing out of life one way or the other.” Wow! That is one heck of an expectation! It kind of explains why so many people are left looking back over their lives wondering what happened and how it ended up like this. Writer and motivational speaker, Brian Tracy loves to say that you don’t get what you want out of life, you get what you expect. It’s so true! When I was in high school, I wanted A’s and B’s but I expected to get C’s. If I opened up my course book and saw an A, I was always surprised, wondering how did that happen? But, if I saw a C…no surprise there… that’s what I expected. I expect a GREAT 2014…what about you? THE THREE TIER SYSTEM One of the most misunderstood things in the beer industry is the three tier system. The system dates back to the repeal of Prohibition in 1933. For those of you who weren’t around in 1933, let us take a quick refresher course. In 1919 as a result of a vocal movement by a relatively small minority, heavily based on a female population who had just won the right to vote and were exercising their new found freedom, congress passed and the states ratified the 18th Amendment. This amendment prohibited production and sale of alcoholic beverages in the United States. Thirteen years later the 21st Amendment was ratified

which repealed the 18th Amendment. The result of Prohibition, or the Noble Experiment as it was sometimes called, was exactly the opposite of what was hoped for. Crime ran rampant; more people than ever were drinking as a result of illegal bootlegging operations, many of them controlled by organized crime…The Mob if you will. Poverty increased and by the end of the 1920’s we had seen the stock market crash and the beginning of the Great Depression. During the period of Prohibition it is estimated that the United States lost $11,000,000,000 in tax revenue from the sale of alcohol and spent another $500,000,000 in

enforcement of Prohibition…and back in that time a billion dollars was real money. In 1932, Franklin D. Roosevelt was elected president, partly because the impoverished American public would no longer accept Herbert Hoover as their president and Roosevelt promised a “New Deal”. He also promised to end Prohibition. He did that swiftly; within months of his inauguration beer was once again flowing as a result of the Cullen-Harrison Act and on December 5th 1933, Utah voted to ratify the 21st Amendment ending Prohibition. Thus, with 75% of the states having

voted to ratify, Prohibition was over. As with anything political, the opposition had to be given some concessions in order to move this vote along, and such was the case with the 21st. One of the things put in place was the Three Tier System for distribution of alcoholic beverages. The system was designed for several purposes. One was to allow states the ability to control their liquor laws, including who could sell and distribute, and to collect taxes due. Another purpose was to prevent “tied houses” where a retail establishment is either owned or controlled by a supplier thereby eliminating CONTINUED ON 42...

...Continued from page 40 competition in that establishment and effectively killing off any opportunity small brands have to get a foothold in a bar or restaurant.

as regards certain state laws or enforcement. Many of them actually have nothing to do with the three tier system but it all gets tied in with that.

The three tiers are simple. There is the producer, or supplier…the brewery, winery, distillery, meadery or other entity that controls the production of the beverage. Importers also fall into this category since they are the business in the United States that first handles the product. The second tier is the distribution or wholesale tier which purchases the product from the supplier and in turn distributes it to the third tier, the retailer. A retailer is a state licensed (or state owned in some states) business that is permitted to sell alcoholic beverages directly to the end consumer, also known as you folks out there reading this.

Briefly, here is what a distributor does – for simplicity sake, I am using a beer distributor since we are in the beer section. A distributor contracts with a supplier to buy beer in bulk for distribution in a specific geographic territory. As part of that agreement the distributor will ship the beer (sometimes the supplier handles that), warehouse the beer, sell the beer, deliver the beer, maintain the beer (stock rotation, install draft handles, even clean tap lines as permitted by law), execute marketing programs and special events, pay state taxes on the beer, serve as a local point of contact for the supplier, ensure quality standards are met and much more.

The supplier and the retailer tier are pretty simple to understand, so there is not much need to spend time on them. It is the middle tier, the wholesaler, which creates confusion and sometimes controversy. It becomes apparent that many of the arguments against the three tier system in general are specious. Most are specific

So, how do they do all this? They purchase or lease a warehouse, buy or lease trucks, hire salespeople, warehouse people, administrative people, drivers, merchandisers, accountants, HR, invest in an infrastructure that allows them to do everything they have to do as effectively as possible. Different

size distributors make different size investments, but they all need the same basic tools to do the job. The investment is large and the ones that do it right spend what they have to in order to bring the best possible beers to your favorite restaurant, bar or liquor store. There are arguments against the middle tier; most common are increased costs and decreased variety. Neither of these arguments makes sense. Let’s address the cost issue first, and, as you will see, that naturally dovetails with the variety issue. Of course distributors tack on an added cost over the prices they pay from the brewery, but is it more expensive with a distributor? In Arizona, we get Bell’s beer despite being about 1900 miles away from the brewery. In Philadelphia they get Russian River despite the 2900 miles between the locations. It goes on and on. Let’s assume Bell’s had to sell and deliver all the beer they sold in Arizona. Now they need a fleet of trucks, they need salespeople, they need people to monitor the stores the beer is sold in to ensure quality, and they need a substantial increase in their current expenses to cover the added costs of selling to the retailers across the country. And, unless they intend to ship everything directly to the retailer, they need warehouses located throughout the country to store product in, all at a great expense. What about the direct ship option. To ship a full keg of beer from Michigan to Arizona would cost almost $140 and take seven days; to ship a case of beer would cost about $38. In other words, shipping alone would add approximately $1.15 to every pint of beer from the keg, or $9.50 to every six-pack. Clearly direct shipping to the retailer would not work, so we are back to building an infrastructure at substantial cost increase. The net effect is that it will cost far too much for breweries to operate in all states so the logical assumption is that they will limit their distribution as much as possible. A brewery like The Bruery is not going to ship beer to the East Coast if they have no way to monitor quality, so they will limit their area of distribution to the areas surrounding their location in Placentia, California. There are very few breweries that

could afford to distribute to the territories they are now selling to if they had to provide all of the service that their local distributor does. The other thing that will discourage far reaching distribution is the inability of a remote shipping brewery to confirm local licensing and laws pertaining to alcohol which are outside of the three tier system. Things like taxes, licensing, marketing restrictions would all have to be handled locally. And if you think about how that would impact craft beer, imagine trying to get a high end Belgian import without the three-tier system. What are some of the other things that distributors do? They employ about 100,000 people nationally so they contribute to their local economy. They handle all of the legalities of distribution, including (most importantly to the states) the collection and payment of state and local taxes. The clear chain of custody that is maintained by a locally based distributor handling the product directly from the supplier to the retailer under a licensed and accountable system protects the consumer. There are numerous instances of counterfeit spirits in other countries, some of which just impact the cost, others which have actually killed people. Just recently, Americans have fallen victim to fake bottles of Cantillon being sold on eBay. So as you can see there are numerous advantages to the current three-tier system. Are there things that need to be fixed? Of course there are. Many of them are state specific issues and would require fine tuning at that level. On the whole, the three-tier system works. Beer gets where it needs to be, the proper taxes get paid, and, most importantly, quality standards are maintained. If there is another system that works better, I can’t think of it.

EXPANSION AND NEW 2014 PRODUCTION FACILITY FOR THE GRAND CANYON BREWING COMPANY

Simply put, we need to produce more beer - that’s how John Peasley, owner of the Grand Canyon Brewing Company sees it, “Now that we’ve expanded into the Nevada market and have started increasing our retail presence, we need to make more beer on an annual basis to meet demand.” Since opening in 2007, the Grand Canyon Brewing Company has grown from a little neighborhood pub to brewing just under 6,000 bbl (barrels of beer) in 2013, – all accomplished in a

6,000 sq. ft. brewing space located along historic Route 66 in Williams, AZ. The new production facility is 27,000 sq. feet with 20,000 sq. feet of that space dedicated to brewing in a 40 barrel brewing system capable of producing an estimated 40,000 bbl – the state limit – once fully developed. The new facility is located at 301 N Seventh Street, Williams, AZ. With an investment of nearly $2.7M, the facility will allow the Grand

Canyon Brewing Company to meet current demand, increase their retail market and to expand into new states including California, New Mexico and Colorado. Brewing is expected to begin in May, 2014. Additionally, Peasley plans to hire at least one more full-time brewer, two cellar men and two deck mates to staff the production facility. As for the existing brewery, it will be outfitted with

a new nano-brewing system for testing out new flavor combinations and brewing methods. Also, a tasting room, bar, pool tables, and large screen tv’s will be added. For more information about the Grand Canyon Brewing Company, visit them online at www.grandcanyonbrewery. com and be sure to “like” them on Facebook at www.facebook.com/ grandcanyonbrewery.
