THE PARK AT AUBURN

is a dynamic hub of innovation and discovery immediately adjacent to the main campus of Auburn University and only 90 minutes from Atlanta’s Hartsfield Jackson Airport. Established by Auburn University, the City of Auburn and the Auburn Research and Technology Foundation, The Park’s more than 170 acres form a convergence zone where Auburn faculty and students connect with business expertise to bring knowledge-based solutions to market in a setting that encourages engagement, partnership and entrepreneurial endeavors. An ever-growing number of research and mixed-use facilities call The Park home. The Park’s buildings include laboratory and executive office spaces as well as the Via College of Osteopathic Medicine, the Auburn University MRI Research Center, Big Blue Marble Academy (child development center) and the East Alabama Health Auburn Medical Pavilion. The built-environment includes more than 480,000 square feet representing a total investment of over $220 million and employing nearly 1,000 full-time employees.

A COMMUNITY OF INNOVATION The Park is a collaborative environment rich with talent and innovative ideas. Here are just a few of the facilities and programs at the center of this vibrant community of innovation. THE RESEARCH AND INNOVATION CENTER The Park’s 105,000 square foot Research and Innovation Center opened in September 2020 as the centerpiece for its innovation ecosystem. This unique commercial and academic research mixed-use facility is home to the Office of the Vice President for Research and Economic Development, the New Venture Accelerator, FullSteam Solutions and Corner Office, as well as a state-of-the-art event center, 540 at The Park. New tenants are slated to come online in the coming months. THE NEW VENTURE ACCELERATOR (NVA) The New Venture Accelerator is roughly 7,000 square feet of custom-designed training, collaboration and new company spaces within The Park’s Research and Innovation Center. The NVA is housed with a team of resident experts who guide startups on how to create business models, identify go-to-market strategies and pitch to investors. This space, where business plans are crafted and dreams are realized, is jointly led by the Harbert College of Business and Auburn Research and Technology Foundation. CENTER FOR ADVANCED SCIENCE, INNOVATION, AND COMMERCE (CASIC) The 82,000 square foot LEED Gold Certified research building includes 21 lab spaces along with shared support areas that house research groups from agriculture; engineering; science and mathematics; forestry and wildlife sciences; and architecture, design and construction. Research clusters include food safety, aquaculture development and sustainability, drug discovery, water and environmental quality, information science and biofuel/bioenergy technologies. THE IP EXCHANGE (IPX) IPX works with university inventors to advance intellectual property (IP) to market. IPX attracts industry partners interested in Auburn innovation and negotiates related licenses and other intellectual property agreements. Additionally, IPX assists faculty members along the path to forming startup companies that move research to market, making science-based solutions available to the citizens of our state, region and beyond.
