CATEXOL A.E. 260 increases concrete’s durability, making it more resistant to the damaging effects of freezing and thawing, while improving workability and reducing bleeding. CATEXOL A.E. 260 is carefully formulated and subjected to stringent quality control in order to guarantee superior results in both the plastic and hardened concrete.
CATEXOL A.E. 260 is effective in increasing the workability of the concrete, especially in lean or harsh mixes.
CATEXOL A.E. 260 is an aqueous solution of a unique, synthetically manufactured surfactant for the air entrainment of concrete. CATEXOL A.E. 260’s patented formula provides superior controllability of the air content and finishability in air-entrained concrete.

CATEXOL A.E. 260 is designed for use in exterior concrete such as highway paving, curb and gutters, sidewalks, driveways, slabs, walls, or other areas needing protection from freezethaw damage or the harmful effect of de-icing salts.
Dosage
The recommended dosage range for CATEXOL A.E. 260 is 0.1 to 6.0 ounces per 100 lbs. (7 to 400 ml/100kg) of cementitious material. Various concrete materials, slump, ambient air temperature, additions of pozzolanic materials, mixing time, and type and brand of cement will affect dosage rates. It is suggested that trial mixes be conducted in order to determine the required dosage to obtain the required percentage of entrained air. In addition, a regular program of air tests should be instituted in order to adjust the dosage to changing conditions.
Directions For Use
CATEXOL A.E. 260 can be dispensed into any of the concrete materials except cement, slag or fly ash. Preferably, CATEXOL A.E. 260 is dispensed into the sand. CATEXOL A.E. 260 is compatible with other Axim admixtures. However, each admixture should be added separately to the mix.

CATEXOL A.E. 260 meets or exceeds the requirements of ASTM C 260 and AASHTO M 154.

CATEXOL A.E. 260 is supplied in either 55-gallon (200L) drums, 265-gallon (1000L) totes or bulk delivery.

CATEXOL A.E. 260 should be kept above 3ºC (38ºF). If product drops below 3ºC (38ºF), DO NOT USE and immediately contact our Technical Department. DO NOT USE PRESSURIZED AIR FOR AGITATION.
Warranty Axim warrants its products to be free of manufacturing defects and that they will meet Axim’s current published physical properties when applied in accordance with Axim’s directions and tested in accordance with ASTM and Axim standards. Axim makes no warranty or guarantee, express or implied, including warranties of fitness for a particular purpose or merchantability, respecting its products, and Axim shall have no other liability with respect thereto. Any claim regarding product defect must be received in writing within one (1) year from the date of shipment. No claim will be considered without such written notice or after the specified time interval. User shall determine the suitability of the products for the intended use and assume all risks and liability in connection therewith.

SECTION 2. HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION This product is a brown liquid with no odor. EMERGENCY OVERVIEW WARNING! Causes eye irritation. May cause skin and respiratory irritation. Inhalation of vapors may cause headache, dizziness, and nausea. Ingestion may cause mouth, throat, and gastrointestinal irritation. Repeated exposure may cause liver and kidney damage. SECTION 4. FIRST AID MEASURES Eye: Immediately flush eyes with large quantities of water for at least 15 minutes, holding the eyelids apart. Get medical attention if irritation persists. Skin: Remove contaminated clothing. Immediately wash skin thoroughly with water for 15 minutes. If irritation develops or persists, get medical attention. Launder clothing before re-use. Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting unless directed to do so my medical personnel. If conscious, rinse mouth with water and give one glass of water. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious or convulsing person. Get immediate medical attention. Inhalation: Immediately remove to fresh air. Get medical attention if symptoms persist.

SECTION 5. FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES Extinguishing Media: This product is not combustible but residue will burn after the water has evaporated. Use any media that is appropriate for the surrounding fire. Special Fire Fighting Procedure: Firefighters should wear positive-pressure self-contained breathing apparatus and full protective clothing for all fires involving chemicals. Unusual Fire and Explosion Hazards: None known. Hazardous Combustion Products: Burning of residue may release oxides of carbon, nitrogen, and sulfur. SECTION 6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES Wear appropriate protective clothing as described in Section 8. Contain and collect liquid with an inert absorbent and place into container. Wash spill area with water and collect water for proper disposal. Report releases as required by local, state and federal authorities. SECTION 7. HANDLING AND STORAGE Handling: Avoid contact with the eyes, skin and clothing. Avoid breathing vapors or mists. Use with adequate ventilation. Wear appropriate protective clothing and equipment. Wash thoroughly with soap and water after handling. Keep containers closed when not in use. Do not reuse un-approved containers. Empty containers retain product residues can be hazardous. Engineering Controls: Use with adequate general or local exhaust ventilation to maintain concentrations below the occupational exposure limits. Respiratory Protection: If exposure levels are exceeded, a NIOSH approved organic vapor/ particulate respirator should be worn. For higher exposures, a supplied air respirator may be required. Selection and use of respiratory equipment must be in accordance with OSHA 1910.134, 1910.1048, CSA Standard Z94.4-02 and good industrial hygiene practice.
