CLP Main Branch Library
This is the flagship library for the Chicago Public Library system. It’s position at the center of the city and the intersection of various transportation systems presents an opportunity to create a new kind of viable library in the internet age. While still preforming the traditional function of the physical library, this project proposes to draw in new audiences with “fetish” nodes. These are spaces scattered throughout the building to allow for intensive, maybe obsessive study in one field. “Fetishists” attracted to these nodes (aided by convenient access) would engage the rest of the library and other fetishists as well.
