Il recupero e restauro del castello Caldora di Ortona formato da strutture medievali e quattrocentesche, rimaneggiate ed ampliate nell’ottocento e nel novecento, è un operazione che nasce da una strategia di marketing della società di accrescere la propria visibilità ed il proprio prestigio dotandosi di una sede antica. I pregiati vini Farnese, frutto delle migliori uve provenienti dalla tenuta di Farneto Valley e da altri rilevanti impianti abruzzesi, completano il loro percorso di crescita anche nelle splendide cantine del Castello Caldora, struttura di cui abbiamo curato il recupero ed il restauro nell’ottica di garantire continuità ad una tradizione vinicola e storica vitale per il territorio di Ortona, assicurando così ai vini Farnese un invecchiamento adeguato al prestigio che li vuole leader sui mercati internazionali. I vigneti sono situati nelle alture della provincia di Chieti e Teramo e sia per la parte di proprietà che per quella di affitto, sono costantemente monitorati da due agronomi che ne curano tutte le fasi di lavorazione per ottenere uve di qualità eccelsa. Le rese per ettaro mai superano quelle stabilite dai disciplinari di produzione ed in molti casi, vengono abbassate con opportuni diradamenti per permettere di ottenere uve di grande concentrazione.

The recovering and the restoraton of castle Caldora in Ortona, made up by medioeval and fifteenth-century strucutures, enlarged and adjusted in the nineteenth and twentieth century, is a choice born from a marketing strategy of the Farnese Vini, aimed to enlarge its prestige with an ancient residence. The prestigious Farnese wines, made from the best grapes of the Farneto Valley estate and other prestigious vineyards from Abruzzo, at their final stage of growth may also reach the splendid cellars of Caldora Castle, a structure that we cared to restore and restructure in order to carry on the wine and history tradition that is vital for Ortona and to make sure the wines are aged in a way that is suitable to the prestige that makes them leaders on the international markets. Our vineyards are situated among the hills in the provinces of Chieti and Teramo and both the part we own and the part we have on lease are constantly monitored by two agronomist that take care of every single step of the cultivation in order to obtain the highest quality. The yields per hectare never exceed those fixed by the production regulations but are often reduced by appropriate pruning so as to have grapes with a high concentration.
