Sentori giustamente improntati, profumi inebrianti e sapori vellutati che, morbidamente, restituiscono all’uomo le sensazioni di un territorio. È nella metamorfosi dell’uva in vino che risiede il significato dei vini Casal Thaulero. Il nome di questa prestigiosa Cantina trae origine dalla località “Casal Thaulero”, luogo ove risiedeva la nobile famiglia dei Thaulero, che si stabilì nel territorio abruzzese sin dal 16° secolo. Traccia della loro presenza viene trovata in un contratto matrimoniale datato 9 marzo 1738 nel quale venivano descritti i beni dati in dote ad Angela Thaulero, figlia di Don Gianfrancesco Thaulero. Alla fine del 1800 il Duca Giovanni Thaulero (1880/1905) avviò un’opera di bonifica dei suoi possedimenti, piantando vitigni moderni e costruì una grande cantina, all’avanguardia per quei tempi. Nel 1961 alcuni vignaioli locali si associarono per imbottigliare la loro produzione e per produrre Vini di alta qualità a Denominazione di Origine Controllata, i primi in Abruzzo. Fu così che vollero dedicare il nome di questa nuova Cantina a Casal Thaulero, in onore della famiglia Thaulero, precursori della moderna viticoltura. Dalla sua fondazione ad oggi, Casal Thaulero non ha mai tradito questa sua innata vocazione per la qualità ed ancora oggi si pone all’apice della produzione enologica abruzzese.

Intoxicating flavours and sensual tastes softly remind us of the sensations of a given Country. It is in the metamorphosis from grapes into wine that lays the quality and pleasure of the Casal Thaulero wines. The name of this prestigious Winery is originated from “Casal Thaulero”, the village where the Thauleros used to live, a noble family established in Abruzzo since the sixteenth century. Their residence in the territory is proven by a marriage contractdated 9th March 1738. This contract describes the properties brought as dowry by Angela Thaulero, Don Gianfranco Thaulero’s daughter. During the end of the nineteenth century the Duke Giovanni Thaulero (1880-1905) reclaimed his lands. He planted modern vineyards and created a huge winery, in a design modern for these times. In 1961 local winegrowers created a joint venture to bottle their wines and produce a high quality wine. This association was the first in Abruzzo to produce DOC wine and was called Casal Thaulero, in honour of the Thauleros, who were forerunners in the modern winemaking process. Since its foundation, Casal Thaulero has never betrayed its passion for quality. Today as in the past Casal Thaulero is at the top of the Abbruzzo winegrower’s community.
