Che l’area collinare Teramana goda di condizioni pedoclimatiche particolarmente favorevoli è stato recentemente riconosciuto anche dal fatto che la sottozona “Colline Teramane” ha avuto il prestigioso riconoscimento della D.O.C.G. e proprio in questa zona opera con riconosciuto ruolo di avanguardia l’azienda di Camillo Montori. Oggi le antiche masserie sono divenute una moderna azienda agricola con la necessaria fisionomia imprenditoriale ma che non ha mai rinnegato le proprie tradizioni e la propria storia. Alla vecchia casa colonica, ristrutturata per farposto agli uffici, simbolo della nuova gestione imprenditoriale, si aggiungono altri corpi che accolgono il locale esposizione, la sala degustazione, il locale imbottigliamento, la cantina d’invecchiamento. La forte motivazione e il desiderio di qualificare la propria produzione hanno caratterizzato sin dagli inizi il percorso di Camillo Montori, consentendo vendemmia dopo vendemmia di farsi riconoscere oltre ai confini regionali. Tra “tradizione e innovazione” la bella bottaia e i nuovi impianti tecnologici ben riflettono questa filosofia produttiva. Cosi accanto alle tradizionali botti di Slavonia si può vedere una moderna torre di vinificazione in acciaio inox. Camillo Montori ha maturato la convinzione che soltanto il legame che coinvolge la storia, il sapere contadino, le condizioni ambientali, il vitigno e gli uomini può permettere al vino del territorio di esprimere originalità, naturalità e fascino. L’azienda propone non solo le tipiche DOC Abruzzesi, ma anche vini ottenuti conuve autoctone, che sottolineano la tipicita del territorio ed esaltono i forti legami con la tradizioine vitivinicola.

The hills of the northern province are known for their terroir ideally suited to wine production. This was granted D.O.C.G. status, a prestigious legal designation for italy’s highest-quality wines. It is precisely the zone of the Camillo Montori Estate, whose ground-breaking work is widely recognised. Actually the old sharecropping was transformed into a modern estate for the production of fine wines but this transformation hasn’t ever denied the origin and the history of actual Montori Estate. The old farmhouse was renovated to provide space for the offices, symbol of the new entrepreneurial managament style, while other buildings were added to accomodate the showroom, the tasting room, the bottling room and the ageing cellar. The owners’s great enthusiasm and his firm intent to focus on quality were, from the very beginning, the foundations on which the estate’s progress was built. Harvest after harvest, these characteristics made the estate know outside its home region. “Bringing together tradition and innovation” the attractive barrel hall and the new high-tech plant crucial to modern winemaking are evidence of the estate’s production philosophy. Thus, in addition to traditional oak Slavonian barrels rthere is a modern, innovative fermentation tower. Camillo Montori has come to believe that only where there is a bound linking the history of the area, the knowledge of the country people, the environmental condition, the vine and the human element can a wine express originality, naturalness and appeal. The estate offers not just the typical Abuzzo’s D.O.C. but it includes wines made with Italian Native Vines which are underlining the typicality of our terroir and enhancing the strong ties with our winemaking tradition.
