OBJECTIVES

The Conference aims to gather women leaders and advocates for women’s leadership from the Philippines, Asia Pacific, and Africa to present their work in the fields of peace building, disaster risk management and recovery, and sustainable development.

I. Women’s Leadership in Peacebuilding/ Resisting Militarism and Struggles for Self-Determination

We want to create spaces for feminist analysis and dialogue to address critical issues affecting women’s peace and security in Asia-Pacific and Africa. Together we will develop common strategies for women to advance their participation and leadership towards a world where peace, justice and security prevail for all.

II. Women Rebuilding Lives: Post Conflict Reconstruction and Recovery after Natural and Man-made Disasters

III. Women Leaders in Sustainable Development and Actions for Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation We are now accepting abstracts for paper presentations on any of the above themes. Creative presentations and story telling are also encouraged. Abstracts and other presentation concepts should not be more than 250 words. PEACE WOMEN PARTNERS, INC. The Peace Women Partners, Inc. is an organization of educators, activists, professionals, indigenous and grassroots women from Asia Pacific and Africa, who are dedicated to build a peaceful world through ending all forms of violence against women. The Board of Trustees of the organization is based in the Philippines, with an International Advisory Council of women from several countries in Asia. Australia and the Pacific region.


ABOUT THE VENUE Lingayen is the capital and the seat of government of the province of Pangasinan in Northern Luzon, Philippines. It is a beautiful coastal town with a rich history dating to the 16th century. Lingayen hosts the World War II Memorabilia Museum and majestic heritage structures built during the 1900s. Tourists enjoy the Lingayen Beach and the world famous Hundred Islands. The Conference Venue is Sison Auditorium, the International Convention Center of Northern Luzon.

REGISTRATION DETAILS EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION (UNTIL DEC. 10, 2015) THE REGISTRATION FEE ENTITLES THE PARTICIPANTS TO THE FOLLOWING: Paper Presentation, panel discussions, workshop and plenary session | Conference kit CD bearing the conference proceedings | Certificate of participation/presentation | Lunch and snacks The Registration fee for foreign participants includes the local travel from Manila/Quezon City to Lingayen and back. A TOUR to a fishing community and the beaches of Alaminos, Anda and Bolinao, Pangasinan will be offered on February 6, 2016. Tour fees are US $ 50.00 for foreign participants and PhP 1,500 for local participants. Registration fee does not include the Tour Fee, visa, accommodation, and preparation expenses. The Local organizing committee can provide an invitation letter or acceptance letter or the processing of visa.

ACCOMMODATIONS There are several hotels which are within walking distance to the Conference venue. Participants may select their accommodations at the Capitol Resort Hotel, PSU Hostel, Consuelo Hotel and President Hotel, Lingayen, Pangasinan.
