HAPPY NEW YEAR!

2016, and a full 12 months stretch before us so that we can enhance ourselves daily and become better, kinder and more caring humans co-inhabiting our wonderful planet earth.

The New Year is the perfect opportunity to start afresh being kinder to yourself, and all those who share our planet. As you know I am an animal activist and am always telling people that you need to have respect for those who do not speak your language. They may look different to you and me but their soul is no different, they love and feel pain in exactly the same way as we do. So please take time to be kind to them as well.

Di Riseborough is a best-selling author, transformational speaker, intuitive life strategist and ‘F-Word’ Specialist. Featured on the Oprah Winfrey Network, she teaches people how to use the “F-word” more effectively in their lives, and learn to face unresolved unconscious fears and discover how to forgive themselves and others. Using her intuitive abilities, she assists her clients to develop selfawareness, reconnect to their inner spirit and gain clarity and emotional perspective by incorporating her Seven Keys of C.O.U.R.A.G.E., a 7-key acronym she uses to teach people how to live their best life. She is the author of the #1 best-selling book “Forgiveness: How to Let Go When It Still Hurts.” She has been featured on numerous media outlets such as Women’s Movement Radio Show, 21 Answers To Emotional Freedom on the Women’s Movement Television Network and the Don’t Ef UP Love video series. Her work has also been published in the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Best Seller Simple Reminders book and Aspire Magazine, the #1 Women’s Magazine for the Soul.

Di Riseborough, born in Johannesburg, grew up and studied in Natal South Africa and now living in London Canada since 2002. The London confused me greatly whilst trying to set up the interview, only to learn that there is a London in Canada and bless them they even have a Thames without the bridge to it. Well known throughout the world Di’s story is one that makes you smile in parts, want to cry out and say that life sends some people the most awful lessons and yet, listening to her there is a realisation that those trials have brought forth an individual that understands the hurts and frustrations of dealing with situations that most would run away from. A women who has learnt to have true grace and compassion, and who embraces those two words and holds the medal for true forgiveness. Going off to university her idea was to obtain a veterinarian degree, well this did not happen she graduated with a master’s degree in animal health management. She was a Poultry Specialist and, jokingly Di says ‘’she didn’t want to be a farmer, she just wanted to tell them what to do’’.

She has had 2 profound moments in her life. The first when she was a mere 9 years of age. She was shown a vision as she puts it. The film tells the story of a young seabird who, after being outcast by his stern flock, goes on an odyssey to discover how to break the limits of his own flying speed. {Information about the movie taken from Wikipedia}. The event that would change her life forever in so many ways happened in 1995. Working from Durban, she had to go to Johannesburg for meetings. She would generally stay with her parents and had made arrangements to take her grandmother out to dinner on this fateful evening. During the meeting the secretary called Di out for a ‘’phone call’’, only to inform her that her grandmother had been murdered and that the police had been trying to contact her. Di describes this moment in her life as being surreal, and somehow she can’t recall exactly how but she was taken home.

ing time with seeing billboards pronouncing the murder trial, reporters getting information wrong etc. Watching the women responsible for the death of her beloved gran and so much more. And there was no psychological counselling available as such to the family. So everyone had to try and cope as best they could.

Some disturbing factors began emerging. Her uncle who had married Suzanne and adopted her 3 sons had divorced without anyone knowing. The murderer was the eldest of these 3 boys. In a confession which Today she lives in the country of her childwould be retracted he admitted that his hood fascination, even as she was growing mother had put him up to this crime as they up she just knew she would land up living believed the older women was extremely there. Walking through the grandmother’s house, she recalls having said to someone that a family member had committed this heinous crime. Her ‘’I need to solve this’’ ideology had kicked in so she was walking through the kitchen – and keep in mind the police had combed the house and were still busy taking finger prints. For some unbeknown reason she opened the microwave. Inside stood a coffee mug – and one of the ‘’good’’ mugs reserved for special visitors as Aneis de Vida

To make matters worse, her uncle passed away a few months after her grans murder, also under strange circumstances, one would think that by now this family had their fair share of horror, but no, many other things took place resulting in so much hatred, bitterness and hurt. Anger literally became rage. Di knew she had to work on herself, and try and sort her emotions out. Her move to Canada gave her the ability to start trying to heal her anger, hurt and rage. It took 3 years of constant hard work on herself. And after all the hard work, it happened she did not feel the rage, the anger and she - tested this concept – and it seemingly was working. Late in the month of November she had this feeling of Suzanne pop14

ping inter head (as she believes we are all interconnected) and this continued for about a week and then the image of Susanne faded. The following year she had this distinct feeling that she needed to see the man who had robbed her of her Gran. Go and tell him face to face that she had forgiven him. Friends and family thought she had lost the plot and could not understand her motivation. Yet for Di it was not just a motivation, it was a conviction of true forgiveness. At the prison she spoke to the warden and asked whether he had shown any remorse, and no it seemingly was not shown. The warden did say however that as of the December there had been a change, his mother had died of a heart attack – now depending what you believe, it somehow

made Di sit up and wonder who actually released who (did Di release Suzanne, or did Suzanne release Di with her death?). For 2 hours they spoke the man who took her Grans life and Di. Di told him that she had forgiven him and that he needed to now forgive himself. He didn’t feel he could. He however asked if he could give her a gift. And as strange as she found it at that moment, he went off to return with a butterfly that he had made. She says it was a moment of pure grace and forgiveness. An experience truly from the very soul. She has always known her life purpose was one of service. And her lesson out of this experience was to learn TRUE forgiveness, to learn how to be compassionate after facing such great sadness. Today Di is a global therapist with a deep understanding and acceptance on a soul level. Her approach to her clients is on a holistic basis, bringing together the human journey in this life as well as healing the emotional aspect of any given situation. As Di says we often forget to integrate the human and emotional and therein will lie many of the problems we seem unable to face and overcome. She believes that you hold the power to create your life and hates the idea of anyone giving away their power, herself included when she is dealing with a client. Di makes sure that you understand from the onset that she will guide you and assist you but she does not want to take your innate power to help yourself, that is your very own gift to yourself.

Eternity does not begin at death; Progress is open to all now! Any action, or intent to change, to promote soul growth and progression, creates a positive reaction. There will always be the opportunity to develop and move forward, no one is ever deprived of the all-embracing love of God. These principles were the summary of faith of Emma Hardinge Britten, a pioneer for the UK's Spiritualist Movement and were adopted by the SNU. Emma was a medium and gifted orator and it was during her many speeches in trance state, that 'spirit communicators' gave various statements of faith. This resulted in the creation of the Seven Principles of Modern Spiritualism in the UK. Many believe that the influence of the 'spirit' of Socialist Robert Owen was paramount in this process. Minister Steven Upton Vice President (administrative) of The Spiritualists' National Union, Minister of The Spiritualists National Union, and a teacher at the Arthur Findley College. Steven has had 2 near death experiences in his life. And as he so aptly puts it ‘’I don’t mind going as long as it doesn’t hurt’’. Well that is a statement most of us would agree Aneis de Vida

His first encounter of the near death experience happened about 20 years ago. At that point in time he was in the sales field and was waiting to go into a meeting. Sitting in the reception area he suddenly did not feel too well. For some unbeknown reason to him, he slid off the chair and sat on the floor. The first thing he became aware of was the change in light – it was brighter and whiter in intensity. He also recalls that his thought process was not affected, his thinking was very clear. However, his ability to hear in the normal sense started to fade. Initially he thought it was as if he had gone into a trans-like state. His mind however was completely clear, just his body seemed to be shutting down. And he recalls very clearly how he thought ‘’do I have identification with me’’ as he is renowned for forgetting these things. Steven says the one thing that he did feel was a kind of disappointment for not having done many of the things he still wanted to. The light ahead of him became more intense, words can’t quite describe the colour or the brightness of the light. And then suddenly he was back, as someone had called the paramedics and they were busy giving him oxygen. They rushed him through to a hospital. And lying in the hospital bed he became aware of the fact that there was no one else, nor any of the normal hospital going’s on. It was pristine, and he was convinced he had already died but no one had bothered to let him know. A nurse came in, did not say a word to him, just took his blood and there lay Steven, telepathically saying to the nurse ‘’its ok you can tell me I have died, I can handle this information as I am a spiritualist. Of course there was no reaction from the nurse, and he again had the fleeting thought go through his head that – ‘’oh well the telepathy has not kicked in

I am also a clairsentient which means I will feel how you are feeling, sad, happy, tired, and will pick up on emotional issues with clients. This helps me to pin point your feelings and my guides will help you to release these emotions so you can move forward in life without emotional baggage. How were you brought up in relation to where you are today in your spiritual journey? In a very strict and conservative home. You did what your parents told you to and if you didn’t there were serious consequences. Religion was a very big part in our family when I was growing up. My father was always an elder in the church, we had to go to service twice on a Sunday. I remember even the Sunday after my Matric dance (at the end of secondary education there is always a dance for pupils), my parents forced me to go the Sunday morning service. I lost faith in the church after I had my second miscarriage. I was back home after spending 1 week in hospital and I was an emotional wreck. The minister came to visit. After having tea and a chat he asked me when they (the church) could expect my monthly contribution!! This is where my absolute belief in church religion was shattered. I tried a few different churches after that and eventually gave up going.

You have found a different way of belief, how do the two compare (your way of being brought up versus what you experience today)? I was taught that you have to fear God, respect your parents and elders and that you will be punished if you do anything wrong. I was also taught that only our “faith” or “church” was the correct one (the one I was brought up in). All the others were “wrong”. The thing that did not resonate with me was that you could abuse your wife, husband, children, etc during the week, and when you go to church you are forgiven and can start doing it all over again thereafter.

With spirituality it is different. I don’t have to go to a church to find God. I know when I ask God or the angels for guidance, love, or protection that they listen. I also believe that you are the creator of your own life. What you think so you shall create. If you keep thinking and telling yourself you are poor and without money, you will have no money. I did my Reiki training in 2012 and was running my practise part time, but did not complete my Masters training. to work”. I was not very impressed, after all, I did travel for 12 hours by plane to get there and to be healed. I did not expect to hear that it was up to me.

In the recording, they talk about crystal bed healing, or crystal light therapy. I was intrigued, as I am addicted to crystals. Part of the reason why we own a crystal and gemstone store. My Reiki Master Teacher happens to have one of these “crystal beds”. This gave me the opportunity to have a healing session on the crystal healing bed. I was blown away. This was what I had been waiting for.

During these meditations I deeply connected with the Healing Spirits that work with John of God. It was as if I was watching a video clip of my current and past lives. They helped me see the origin, feeling the experience and the pain, and then releasing it and replacing it with a deep sense of love.

Your experience in Brazil was a stripping away of your old self, how did you experience this?

What changes have you made in your life thus far?

This meant that I had to sit in the “current room” which is like a mediation room, you are not allowed to move, or open your eyes for as long as John of God is healing people. The average session was 4 hours.

It was a very emotional time for me, but every day, I started to feel lighter and more in love with the person I was becoming. When In May this year, I went to Brazil, to John of I left Brazil, I had a deep understanding of God. Whilst there I received permission from who I am and what my journey forward has Spirit to bring a healing bed back to South to be. I could no longer continue living the Africa. When I went, my intention was to bring back the healing bed and as an afterthought to get some healing while there. Before going, I was suffering from continuous back ache, as well as a “frozen” shoulder. Everyone who goes to the Casa de Dom Ignacio (John of God), expects a miracle and to be healed instantly. So I went to the Casa and followed the process to see John of God. Your time with him is very limited, as there is an average of 3 000 people per day that go for healing. When I went in front of him, spirit’s message to me was: “You have Aneis de Vida

Hops

These are natural plant hormones that are commonly used to treat pre-menopausal symptoms and are a natual replacement for HRT. There are many plants that contain oestrogenic constituents at different doses. The most common compounds possessing oestrogenic activity are based on phenolic chemical structures.

This plant is used in the alleviation of postmenopusal symptoms. It has also long been used in beer making and as a flavouring agent, although the amount detectable in beer is too low to pose any cause for concern.

Many people turn to natural hormones because they are perceived to be safer, especially with regard to breast cancer. Here are some examples of phytoestrogens.

The Paradox of Making a Choice By Deborah Sutherland Aneis de Vida

48

January 2016

Society has us confronted with more choices about any given subject than we can comprehend. When we are faced with making a decision, it calls for us to make a choice. To make a choice of what action would be of most benefit becomes possibly the most challenging decision to make. So much so, is that we may go as far as to make no choice at all; make a choice and regret it; or spend hours of uncertainty, wondering if our choice was correct. How do we ever know if we chose wisely? In our decisiveness we do not trust in our Self. We have forgotten how to listen to our own inner wisdom; the inner, practical wisdom that would assist us in navigating through the options and know that one perfect choice that would make relevant only to one Self.

So what does all this mean when we think of health? In the past we would get ill, go to the doctor and get a prescription. The world of health we believed, was confined to our body and the ownership of correcting it landed squarely on the doctor’s shoulders. This can no longer be the case. We now have to look further afield to our environment to find out why we are getting ill. The state of our planet shows us to the degree that we now are required to actively participate in crucial changes. When we ask, “How can we participate?”, we take back our power; the inner power that we have quietly given out to others when we don’t make decisions for ourselves.

The health of our planet being; the condition of the soil, the water, the air, the insects and animals (the relentless workers that keep our planet in balance) all participate in the ultiMaking a choice means that we will bring mate consequence of our health. LIVING IN AWARENESS STARTS WITH SELF

“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else, is the greatest accomplishment.” - Ralph Waldo Emerson Have you ever sat down with your morning coffee, taken a few sips and then noticed that your cup is empty? Have you ever been driving to a destination and upon arriving you realize you have no recollection of the drive itself? This is known as “mindlessness” or being in “auto pilot”. Being unaware in this manner has become far too common an event for most of us in this fast paced day and age. There is a greater need to multitask in order to keep up with the many demands and obligations we face. It’s easy to get lost in the stressful juggling of jobs, finances, home life and relationships by coping in the best way we can, even though we aren’t fully aware of what’s actually going on in the moment. The dictionary defines Awareness as “the ability to perceive, feel and be conscious of events, objects, thoughts, emotions and sensory patterns in the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting one’s feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations”. what is happening in each moment and being in right relationship with it. There are three key arenas that we are in constant relationship with, they are Self, Life, and Others which must be developed in this sequential order. We can’t have a good relationship with life or others if we have a poor relationship with ourselves. To be in right relationship ourselves requires our willingness to get to know who we are by listening to what we really need right now and then to ensure we meet these needs. This involves paying attention to our inner dialogue and filtering through the negative self-deprecating thoughts and beliefs in order to discover the best way to nurture, satisfy and care for ourselves. Contrary to societal norms this is not selfish, narcissistic or self-centred, we say that this is being in a state of self-ness. Ignoring or placing our needs last, puts us into deficit making us susceptible to stress, depression and illness. Living in this way depletes our energy levels and hampers our ability to be of any help or value to life or others.

we’re not being true to ourselves and changing is painful because we must let go of what we know and face the disapproval and rejection from others. It’s only natural to avoid such pain, therefore the motivation to change will only come when the pain of having a poor relationship with ourselves becomes unbearable. Who we truly are is difficult to clearly know because our identity changes with the role we hold in each relationship. The persona we portray at work will probably have a very different set of values, labels, behaviours and beliefs than the one we use with our family, our significant other and even with ourselves. Within this tangled web of confusion, we extract our identity from these different roles. We are far more than this, in fact if we were to add them all up we still wouldn’t have the whole picture of who we truly are.

Imagine for a moment that you are standing with your back pressed up against a flowering tree. Your true self is the trunk of the tree and your identities are the branches, leaves To know our true selves is to know our visions, and flowers. Although they are extensions of goals, purpose, values and beliefs. This can the tree, they do not define the tree. into our core and become the trunk of our own tree. Initially it will take conscious effort, discipline and practice to learn to live with more awareness without allowing distractions to draw us away from focusing on the moment. The key is to find value in placing our attention on our feelings, sensations, thoughts and the inspirations that come from “Living in Awareness. This will not only have a positive impact on our quality of life, it will open us to opportunities for growth, new experiences and fulfilment. Recognizing this truth is an essential step in discovering how

The Power of Ritual By Jimmy Henderson Jimmy Henderson is a cognitive scientist and metaphysician. His books are available on Amazon.com (Jimmy Henderson) or via his website Aneis de Vida

The pathway to divine revelation by way of the mind was hidden in ritual by the old masters until candidates were ready to understand and appreciate their true meaning. In other words, it could be said that ritual is a symbolic representation of the great truths regarding man, soul, God and reality. Normally, divine revelation only takes place during meditation, an altered state of consciousness in which our brainwave patterns are slowed down by means of physical and mental relaxation. In this state the subconscious mind opens, and we experience a 'mindfulness' in which the God-mind can be more easily accessed. The effect of the solemnity, focus, actions and gestures of a ritual, which is full of symbolism, is such that it can also produce a similar introspective state of mind, one which also allows for access to the subconscious mind and the transfer of inspired thoughts and hidden truths. The aim of ritual is therefore to prime our minds for the inflow of sacred knowledge and divine revelation. However, this normally requires a certain preparedness and state of readiness in which the mind is gradually unfolded through guided study and discipline, as would be provided within the framework and teachings of fraternal organisations based on the ancient mystery schools. This readiness can be explained firstly as being fully open to new knowledge and experiences. A closed mind and a critical, judgmental attitude will certainly not be conducive to spiritual revelation. Second, the mind should be clear and not cluttered with emotional or psychological baggage from the past. Strong negative emotions such hatred, intense anger and festering resentments will block any subtle impressions from the deeper levels of the mind. In other words, in order to experience the true power of ritual, an initiate should have a

reasonable level of emotional wellness and be able to maintain a relaxed, peaceful state of mind which will allow him/her to hear the whispers of divine revelation as they pass through his/her subconscious mind.

Aneis de Vida

Ideally, the images, symbols and gestures of the ritual will impress themselves upon the fully receptive mind, pass through and resonate with their hidden meanings existing in the subconscious, and lead to powerful emotional or spiritual experiences and revelations of truth.

ening our circle of compassion

CHAKRADANCETM is a moving meditation practice that with regular practice brings about a deeper personal awareness and it also balances the chakras that are our ‘software programmes’ that both regulate and record our lives. Becoming more aware of these dynamic energy centres enables us to create more conscious lives. In CHAKRADANCETM we listen to music specifically composed to resonate with each chakra to lead us into an altered state of consciousness. In a safe and sacred space we respond to the music with spontaneous movements that release muscle memory and we then observe the images, thoughts, symbols and stories that come up, without judgment or analysis. Last month I wrote about the SOLAR PLEXUS CHAKRA – the just get on and DO IT frequency! This month we explore the Heart Chakra – the centre of our chakra system: where body meets spirit, where yin meets yang, male meets female, shadow meets light and opposites unite, and in so doing understand our heart’s deep desire for peace and compassion.

to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty!” Albert Einstein When we tune into the rhythm of the Heart Chakra we tune into the heartbeat of the universe – we become part of the galaxy of stars and planets; we join the stellar community! Our human relationships are the framework upon which we build and create our lives. Without relationships, there would be little point remaining in a human body. Freedom. Lightness. Love. Compassion. What awesome concepts for our body to dance to!

ras. It is located in the centre of the chest, right there where the lungs cradle the physical heart; this chakra is the powerhouse of the love frequency. The air we breathe into our lungs is believed to be a gift from our Creator and ‘air’ is the symbolic element of the heart chakra. When we mindfully engage with our Heart frequencies as we dance, we breathe in inspiration and lightness as we open up our hearts to giving and receiving. In giving freely and receiving graciously we begin to create a new sense of love for our selves; and we explore self-love so that we can love others better. “There is one word that may serve as a rule of practice for all one’s life: reciprocity.” ~ Confucius

Come a dance into effortless meditation with CHAKRADANCETM! CHAKRADANCETM is a dynamic form of moving-meditation, developed and perfected by Australian Natalie Southgate and is primarily concerned with reconnecting to our true essence and hearing what it has to say. Offering similar benefits to yoga in terms of the chakras, CHAKRADANCETM increases your awareness of the connection between your body and soul and leaves you with a feeling of inner peace and serenity. The aim in CHAKRADANCETM is to form an on-going relationship between our unconscious and consciousness so we can reach our fullest potential via the 7 main chakras, which govern the health of specific body parts and organs. Each chakra influences a different aspect of your lives: belonging; pleasure; self; compassion; integrity; intuition and rationality.

When our Heart Chakra becomes blocked, we are unable to be lovable; we exclude others from comforting us; becoming hard and unapproachable; untrusting and suspicious, and in so doing we experience profound pain and suffering that we may feel even in the physical heart. Allowing one’s body to be moved by the frequencies played in CHAKRADANCE’s music, we spontaneously create unique movements and tap into the lost parts of our Soul – and retrieve those fragments. By simply observing whatever emotions, stories and symbols are presented for our attention, we soften and allow the Love of our open heart to soothe and calm us. Our dance reflects the meeting of opposites and their union. dance through their own energy centres. No dance experience or prior knowledge of the chakras is necessary. With a scarf tied over the eyes in order to access our inner world more effectively and guided by music resonating to each of the seven chakras, participants are taken on a spiritual dance journey. With practice and appropriate application, these experiences can then be integrated into our everyday lives. Participants leave the humdrum world behind – surrendering to the music and dancing from the inside out – ultimately freeing our natural energy flows and feeling more alive! After we have danced, we express our experience through mandala art as spontaneously as we created our movements. The mandala both contains our experience and reflects the healing frequencies newly revealed in our energy fields. It is amazing how adept one becomes at this art even if you have never believed you can ‘draw’! Practicing CHAKRADANCETM aids in relieving and balancing the stresses of modern day living and generally brings balance into our lives.

Self-esteem means to esteem, respect and honour one’s true authentic self. In other words: that, which is infinitely precious, spontaneous, unique, magnanimous and beautiful about one’s soul…one’s essence…one’s spirit. Most of an individual’s self-image is learned and often very far removed from the true self. As children we are unable to discern between what is true and untrue about what others say about us, to us and often reflect in behavior back to us. We then internalize these messages and it becomes part of WHO we believe we are. Often these messages are so subtle that we are not even aware of its impact until much later. Unfortunately these messages add up to a set of beliefs about WHO WE ARE. For example, we may believe things like:

I’m not very smart.

I’m naturally passive.

Women aren’t any good at business.

I’m too old to start over.

I’m painfully shy.

I am not good enough.

Like, don't eat pork, crayfish, camels, etc, as they are bottom feeders. They eat junk basically. Things like cleanliness and moral stuff, all these "rules" were in place to protect them from themselves really. So, the promise was, if you stick to my rules, you will be healthy, etc. Jesus came to fulfil the law and basically what that means is that we no longer have to follow a bunch of rules, what we eat or don't eat does not affect the "sin" in our hearts, it is a heart matter now. However, eating like that is healthy and if you don't eat like that you won’t not go to heaven, but you might go sooner. At the end of the day Jesus said that the 2 most important commandments are to love the Lord your God with all your heart and all your mind, and secondly, to love your neighbour as you love yourself. And in doing these 2 you pretty much fulfil the rest.

something that draws them to Christ, not any bible-punching I may do, or trying to correct any perceived wrong in them. No Christian is perfect. We all mess up daily and in the eyes of Christ, lying, or misleading, or any supposed tiny thing is as big as murder or whatever we perceive as terrible or evil. Christianity is a way of life in which we are to live in peace with one another, giving and receiving grace and not thinking of ourselves more highly than anyone else.

How much of the Old Testament is relevant today>

Well, I never used to read the Old Testament much because the God of the Old Testament seemed to be a disciplinarian and it seemed to be all about history and war. Not really my cup of tea. But over the years I have learnt to read it more deeply. It shows truly how patient our God is and He has a father heart. He put up with so much from His children and gave them chance after chance, warning after warning. And only then acted and you know, as soon as the repented, He relented. He withdrew His punSecond part of the question. I cannot speak ishment. But He never just punished them for as to what other religions believe or feel or no reason. The Old Testament is also a diawhy they follow what they do. But for me, I gram of what was to come. It speaks of the would say to anyone who asks why follow coming of Christ and what all that will Jesus, His way, Christianity (true Christianity) is mean. It speaks of a time that has not yet about love and grace and serving others be- come, the end. So, is it relevant? Yes, absocause you want to, not because if you don't lutely. to the future (taking into consideration that many have a strong faith with regards to God, Jesus etc)?

there is a God does not make you a Christian.

I can only say that anything they were able to do, any Christian can do if they have the faith and the Lord has given them the power to do so. Having said that, anything done supernaturally in terms of Christianity ALWAYS brings glory to God, not the person doing it. God sometimes gives people the gift of knowledge, to speak into the life of someone who needs encouragement or protection. He sometimes gives people the gift of discernment. And the gift of healing. I believe that we see miracles today but you often see them played out for the glory of the healer and not for the one doing the healing, God! And that person's pride eventually gets the better of them. Pride is a big problem in people, and Christians are no different, that is why God's ways are so opposite to what we would do, eg, if you want money, give money freely. Want healing, pray for others. Want promotion, humble yourself, etc. It is interesting that you say that many soothsayers have faith in God. It says in the bible even the demons believe. So believing

Jesus Christ himself. Yet when looking at Christianity there seems more fear and ‘’hate’’ preached – where does the difference between God Love and human love draw the line?

I would also like to add that sometimes God I will answer this question in the way I am in- does not give a gift of something supernatuterpreting it. They were ordinary folk who did ral to someone because although that perextraordinary things in Jesus name, and toson may think he wants it for the good of day could be seen by non-Christians as some someone else or for God's glory, God is all sort of spiritualistic person. You are very right in saying what Jesus preached and what one sees in a lot of Christians today are not the same thing. Firstly, there are genuine Christians and there are not. Secondly, no Christian is perfect and we are all a work in progress. Even the bible says we are to grow from glory to glory, as in we need to be growing and going forward and not backward. Thirdly, and most importantly, I think an individual should judge God by the standard of God, and not by the standard of people. What I mean is, EVERY SINGLE CHRISTIAN is going to let you down. There are no perfect churches because they are all made up of broken people. If I go to church and the pastor messes up, he has an affair with his secretary lets say, and I judge God by that, leave the church and turn my back on God, then I was never 85

looking to God in the first place. I was looking to man. And seriously, man (or woman) disappoints. God WILL NEVER let you down. And Christianity is a relationship with God. It’s a one on one thing. So if I go to church, the pastor messes up, and I go to God and I say, now what? This man is supposed to represent You, and lead me to You, and telling me how to behave, and look how he behaves? God says, that pastor I will deal with, now about that lie you told this morning....? God says we are not to judge and if we do we will be judged in like manner. He also He is the judge. We all will have to answer for our actions one day. In the bible it says don’t worry about the splinter in another's eye, deal with the log in your own.

Jesus himself tore down synagogues and yet Christianity in many instances builds these brilliant temples – and are among the richest in the world (Catholicism) – how would one bring these together when preaching to a world that is in most parts suffering with wars, hunger destruction. Why be a part of a religious order that preaches one thing and does another? A very broad question. Firstly there are those that preach prosperity, behave, be a good Christian, tithe everything you can, and God will prosper you. I do believe to a certain extent this is true. There is only one place in the bible where God says test me on this, and it is with regards to tithing. He says tithe to me of your first fruits, and see that I will make sure that your barns are full to overflowing. Now I touched on this above where I said God knows what you can handle and also, He knows your motives. Are you tithing to get in return, or are you tithing in obedience, just because He says so, whether He makes you wealthy or not? I believe that churches can be decent buildings that reflect beauty and Aneis de Vida

all the creativity that God has given us, but I also believe that there is a time and a place. For example, the church I currently go to NEEDS to expand, too many people, too little parking, making the neighbours mad. So, they bought another piece of land and want to build something which I think is totally excessive. It is a problem for me personally. I believe at this time in the world, yes, build a building, make it practical and build it well, but just what you need. Not something that people will go to because it’s an awesome building better than something worldly. We as Christians need to be investing in people not in buildings. Does it need to be a crystal palace? NO! But that is my own personal feelings on this one particular thing. Catholicism is very ostentatious and very traditional and over the top, and there are many good Christians in catholic congregations but I cannot really speak into their desire for ornate buildings etc. I don't really have a good understanding of how they operate. As to the temple, it was totally over the top, built with the finest materials and much money was spent on it. But the temple was one building many travelled to. It was to the people God's residence on earth and He is worthy of the best. The temple wasn't your local church on every street corner. And God's presence is no longer in a building. It is in anyone who welcomes Him into their hearts and lives. He says in the word that our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit, which is God, and we should look after our temples.
