There are more than 40,000 licensed NHRA drivers that compete at 130 NHRA member tracks around the United States. After more than 60 years of operation, this grassroots racing organization continues to uphold its original ideals to promote the excitement and passion of drag racing. NHRA fans continue to have the best access to the behind-the-scenes action of racing as they get up-close and personal views of teams rebuilding engines in less than 75 minutes between elimination rounds. Drivers are often found in their pit areas, signing autographs and chatting with fans. That is just one reason why NHRA fans continue to be some of the most loyal of any sport. NHRA has thousands of members and a strong network of member tracks throughout the nation that support countless events hosted by NHRA. Second to only NASCAR in terms of attendance, fan appeal, and sponsorship commitment, NHRA is moving quickly into mainstream America. The NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series crisscrosses the U.S., making 24 stops in 21 cities over the course of 10 months.

Since 2001, ESPN2/ESPN2HD has been the exclusive broadcast partner of the NHRA and NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, with same-day tape or live coverage.

The Star Racing Legacy Four Decades of Championship Performance In 1980, George Bryce and his wife, Jackie, founded Star Racing to support the motorcycle drag racing community. This high performance motorcycle company has evolved into a successful mail-order parts business with engine building and machine shop services. Star Racing’s state-of-the art machine shop houses a 5-axis Haas CNC machine; Sunnen boring and honing equipment; DTS and Superflow engine dynos; a DynoJet chassis dyno; and a Spintron. With more than 33 years of experience with motorcycles and racing, Star Racing specializes in parts for older drag bikes and late model sport bikes, stocking a large and varied selection of race products in the onsite warehouse. Star Racing has also evolved into the development of late-model hot rod VTwins for both the street and strip. They now offer a full line of S&S engines and support parts for drag racing enthusiasts, as well as for other motorcyclists, dealers and distributors. For the past 20 years, this unique motorcycle drag racing company has also contributed to the future talent of the sport by teaching a Pro Stock Motorcycle Drag Racing School. Through a partnership with Frank Hawley Drag Racing School, this Pro Stock Motorcycle course, taught by Star Racing owner George Bryce, has shaped many prominent racers in the class such as three-time NHRA Champion Angelle Sampey.

Meet the Team: The Owner & Motorcycles

George Bryce & Star Racing For more than 25 years, George Bryce has been the dynamic force behind the exciting NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle series. To date, he has won six NHRA national championships and 80 event wins as a rider, owner or crew chief in 154 final rounds of competition. Starting out as the owner/rider/tuner of the Star Racing machines, Bryce garnered enough knowledge in all three areas to become the most sought after man in the business today. He is credited with developing more talent than any other team owner in the history of the sport. Against all odds and with naysayers at every turn, George took a raw, untested Angelle Seeling and turned her into the most victorious female racer in NHRA history. He has had similar experiences with nearly a dozen other riders. Untiring in his winning effort, George Bryce is widely acclaimed for his ability to manage all aspects of a successful racing operation. Melding the psychological and physical aspects of the sport has made him indispensable to potential professional racers, so much so that he teaches Pro Stock motorcycle racing at the acclaimed Frank Hawley Drag Racing School in Gainesville, Florida, for the past 20 years. The classes are always full and repeat attendance speaks volumes about George's knowledge.

In the more than 30 years since George and Jackie founded Star Racing, they have positioned the business as a premier motorcycle racing and R&D facility. Among other things, George remains team coach and head tuner.
