determinar o T-score ideal para cada aparelho de ultrassonografia quantitativa. Este exame constitui, porém, uma forma interessante de selecionar doentes que teriam benefício na realização de densitometria por absorciometria radiológica de dupla energia, considerando-se que esse é um exame de alto custo e que muitas vezes não está amplamente disponível. Também são necessários estudos com dados nacionais para elucidar questões sobre prevenção e fatores de risco de osteoporose na população brasileira.
