Local Film Production With a Social Conscience On October 8th 2008, the film “Don’t Make a Sound” was world premiered at K-”Cineplex, Strovolos, under the auspices of the Minister of Justice and Public Order. The film was created by a highly talented crew and actors, most of whom are Cypriot with extensive experience abroad. “Don’t Make A Sound” contrasts the life of two women, one who sacrifices her dreams to maintain her life or comfort and affluence the other who lives in hope that her abusive husband will stop beating her and terrorising their two children. The film is a creative response to the growing problem of domestic violence in Cyprus and all proceeds from the premier screening will go the shelter for those suffering abusive within the family.
