Dallas Texas Art Art is a wide array of human activities in creating visual, auditory or acting artifacts (artworks), expressing the author's imaginative or technical ability, designed to be appreciated for their beauty or psychological strength. In their most general type these actions include the production of works of art, the criticism of art, the research of the history of art, and also the aesthetic dissemination of art. The earliest documented kinds of art are visual arts, including creation of objects or images in areas including now painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography, and other visual media. Architecture is often included as one of the visual artsnonetheless, such as the decorative arts, or advertising, it includes the production of objects where the practical considerations of use are essential--in a manner that they usually are not in a painting, such as. Music, theatre, film, dance, and other performing arts, as well as literature and other media like interactive media, are included in a wider definition of art along with the arts. Until the 17th century, artwork referred to any ability or command and wasn't differentiated from sciences or crafts. In modern usage following the 17th century, where aesthetic considerations are paramount, the fine arts are distinguished and separated from acquired skills generally, like the decorative or applied arts. Art may be distinguished in terms of mimesis (its representation of reality), narrative (storytelling), saying, communication of emotion, or other attributes. During the period, artwork came to be viewed as "a distinctive faculty of the human mind to be categorized with religion and science". Although the definition of exactly what constitutes art is contested and has changed over time, overall descriptions cite an idea of technical or creative ability stemming from individual agency and creation.
