Financial and Housing Obligations Detailed listing of dues information and housing policies are in your PNM Journal. Payment plans are typically available. Paying your dues is part of the commitment you sign up for. Each chapter maintains a chapter house that must be filled each year. Most chapters require the newest members to fill the house the next academic year. It’s the same cost as living in a dorm on campus. If you are concerned about money or housing, talk to to the women you meet in the chapters.

Academic Obligations Any female student is welcome to go through Panhellenic Recruitment regardless of age and GPA. Each chapter has a grade requirement specific to their chapter as academic achievement is very important. If you feel your grades aren’t where you want them to be, talk to the chapter about it and see what support they have. Panhellenic continues to uphold a GPA higher than the all women’s GPA on campus – let’s keep it that way!

What to Expect During Recruitment Meet on Greek Row nightly – Park in the Rutherford lot across from the houses. We will finish late, so for safety, please drive if possible. You will travel in your recruitment groups on Friday. Cell phones will not be allowed in the houses and will be takenup after you receive your schedule. After Friday, everyone’s schedule will be different. There will be down time; bring homework, things to do, etc.

What to Expect During Recruitment Attend all events you are invited to. It is important to maximize your options and you may find a connection with a woman that you did not expect. If you ever feel like something odd happened at any time, talk to your RC immediately. Do not talk to women in your group about your conversations and experience. They might feel differently. Keep an open mind throughout the process. All chapters are amazing! If there is ever an emergency, go to HQ tent and find Leslie.

Schedules and Selections on the Row Prior to rounds starting, you will be emailed your schedule. It will go to the email that you provided on your application. You will then write your schedule down in your PNM Journal, and then give your phone to your RC in exchange for your nametag. After your rounds are completed, you will then make your nightly selections on your phone. We will walk you through it each night. After you have been cleared to go, you may leave. If you are missing a day, your RC will contact you and make your selections for you.

What to Expect During Round 1 Round 1: Philanthropy, Friday, August 30th Arrive at 3:00pm on Greek Row. Dinner will be provided. (Pizza) During the first round of recruitment, you will attend events at each of the six sororities. These events are 30 minutes and you will have the opportunity to meet several women from each chapter. You will also learn about each sorority’s national and local philanthropies.

What to Expect During Round 2 Round 2: Values/Sisterhood, Saturday, August 31st Arrive at 11:30am. Eat beforehand. You will have the opportunity to attend a maximum of four events. Each event will be 45 minutes in length. Sororities showcase the chapter’s personality, sisterhood, and much more. This is a time when it is important to ask any questions you might have ⚥

about each particular sorority. What to Wear: This night is dressier than the previous night. You would want to wear something that you would wear to a daytime wedding, such as a sundress.

What to Expect During Round 3 Round 3: Preference, Sunday, September 1st Arrive at 1:30pm. Eat beforehand. You will have the opportunity to attend a maximum of two events. Each event will last one hour. Preference night is serious in nature and is a time when members explain the values of their organization. This is a time for you to consider which sorority meets your personal values and where you ⚥

will be happiest. What to Wear: Cocktail attire (Black is not required)

What to Expect on Bid Day Bid Day: Monday, September 2nd Arrive at 2:00pm in this ballroom. Dinner will be served by the chapter. This is the day you will receive an invitation (bid) to the sorority you were matched with through the mutual selection process. Everyone will then walk outside to meet your new sisters. Then, you will travel back to Greek Row for a Bid Day event. ⚥

Leave your backpack and valuable things in your car/dorm. What to Wear: Casual bottoms and your bid day shirt. You will be given a chapter bid day shirt after all bids are distributed. (Some shirts will be tanks, so wear appropriate undergarments!)

What to Bring Each Night Sunglasses Sunscreen / bug spray Things to freshen up Water & snacks Umbrella / rain jacket Comfy shoes Something to write with Homework – you will have some breaks

Mutual Selection Formal Recruitment is a mutual selection process. This means that both the chapters and the potential new members have a role in where a PNM is ultimately placed. Each night the chapters select the women they feel could be an asset to their chapter, and they then extend invitations. The number of invitations varies from chapters to chapter and round to round and is based on release figure methodology (RFM).

Mutual Selection Similarly, each night PNMs are selecting which chapters they would most like to go back to. PNMs need to focus on where they are invited back, not where they are no longer going just as the chapters will focus on the members they have returning.

Strict Silence Prohibits verbal, written, printed or text message communication from PNMs to sorority women. It lasts from the end of Preference to bid distribution on Bid Day. You can talk to your Recruitment Counselor before you make your selections on the final night, but refrain from conversations about selections afterwards.

Excuses Tonight you will complete a “Conflict Form if you have a conflict with timing. While we hope you all can make all of the recruitment events, we understand that not everyone can. You must complete this form with your RC tonight. You will not automatically be released from a group if you are excused from their event. We communicate with the chapters and let them know who has turned in excuses.

Leaving the Process If you are not invited back to any rounds or do not receive a bid, your RC will call you and let you know prior to the rounds beginning each day. If you choose to withdraw from the process, you will need to notify your RC and complete paperwork at the HQ tent. In both of these situations you can still receive a snap bid or be COB’d by a chapter.

MEMBERSHIP RECRUITMENT ACCEPTANCE BINDING AGREEMENT (MRABA) You will sign a MRABA after Preference Rounds if you choose to accept a bid. We will go into details about what exactly a MRABA is before rounds on Sunday. By signing, you are agreeing to accept an invitation to membership from any Panhellenic sorority you have listed, even if it is your 2nd choice. âš¡ Cannot be altered or changed

MEMBERSHIP RECRUITMENT ACCEPTANCE BINDING AGREEMENT (MRABA) If you receive a bid from any Panhellenic Organization that you list, and you choose not to accept it, you may not join any other Panhellenic sorority on the campus for one calendar year. If you do not receive a bid from any Panhellenic Organization that you list, you are eligible for continuous open bidding. You must understand that not all Panhellenic Organizations will hold COB.

MEMBERSHIP RECRUITMENT ACCEPTANCE BINDING AGREEMENT (MRABA) Your options when considering your agreement are: ⚡

You may choose not to complete an agreement at this time. (Withdraw
