Stars In Healthcare Event

Over 130 interested individuals attended this special open house. Anyone interested in getting into healthcare was invited to attend a special 3-hour event at Albany Technical College (ATC). The Healthcare Technology Building hosted a Future Stars of Healthcare event October 27, 2022, in the Healthcare Technology Building. The healthcare programs opened their labs and classrooms to showcase what’s happening in their program. This open house was a chance for future students to see behind their walls and explore the programs of interest.

Ten programs, including instructors and students, were showcased: Dental Assisting, Healthcare Information Management Technology, Medical Assisting, Nurse Aide, Nursing, EMT/Paramedicine, Pharmacy Technology, Practical Nursing, Radiologic Technology, and Surgical Technology.

“This event is designed to allow the public exposure to all of the healthcare programs we offer at ATC,” said Lisa Stephens, Dean of Business/Healthcare Technology.

“Participants will be able to tour program classrooms and labs, participate in hands-on demonstrations, speak directly with program faculty, and meet with admission, financial aid, and several other support services on campus.”

Community partners were at the event to discuss career opportunities for each of Albany Technical College’s healthcare programs. At this unique one-day, 3-hour Future Stars of Healthcare open house, educational and career opportunities came together. Swag bags were given out for the first 150 visitors, along with light refreshments and other entertainment.

Student services was on-site to assist with Financial Aid, Admissions, and various grants.
