NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR FOR INSTITUTIONAL ADVANCEMENT

(ATCEPA) program overseeing a 3-million-dollar budget, Interim Dean of Construction, Manufacturing, Transportation & Engineering Technology, and most recently, the Director of the Community Development Block Grant deemed as "Rebuild Southwest Georgia" initiative where she was responsible for a budget of 8.3 million dollars.

Prior to her work at Albany Technical College, she served in a variety of administrative positions, including Teacher Education Coordinator, a collaborative position between Broward Community College and Florida International University, Evening Campus Administrator, Student Success Coordinator/Adjunct, and as an Enrollment Services Officer at Broward College and Tennessee State University.

Michelle has served on numerous college committees. She currently serves as a Board Member for the Albany/ Dougherty Kiwanis Club, Albany Chapter of 100 Women Who Care. She formerly served as a YMCA Board Member for the Albany area YMCA for several years.

LISA HARRELL assumed the position of Vice President of Academic Affairs at Albany Technical College (ATC) effective January 16, 2023. Mrs. Harrell has over 11 years of experience in higher education. She began her experience as a Marketing adjunct instructor in 2011 with Moultrie Technical College. She started working full-time at Albany Technical College in January 2012 as the Department Chair/Instructor for the Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Management program.

Dr. Emmett Griswold, President of Albany Technical College, said, "We are very excited to have Lisa Harrell to move into the role of Vice President of Academic Affairs. Her 11 years of experience in higher education and her commitment to providing quality education to our students make her the ideal choice for this position."

In 2015, Lisa Harrell was awarded the Rick Perkins Teacher of the Year award for

Albany Tech and was a finalist in the Technical College System of Georgia's state competition. In 2016, Mrs. Harrell was promoted to the Dean for Academic Affairs in the Technology, Business, and Personal Services Division. In 2018, she transitioned to the Construction, Manufacturing, Transportation, and Engineering Division. Mrs. Harrell has had the opportunity to manage programs through the renovations and opening of the expanded Carlton Construction Academy. She is currently in the planning stages of the new Dr. Anthony O. Parker Transportation Academy.

Before her work at Albany Technical College, Mrs. Harrell was the Director of the Albany Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB), where she opened the Albany Welcome Center, participated in Leadership Albany, became certified as a Travel Marketing Professional, led the Albany CVB to be the first of 3 Gold Accredited CVB's in the state, and started the Albany Marathon.

Mrs. Harrell has served on the Keep Albany Dougherty Beautiful Board and is the Finish Line Coordinator and Board Member for the Albany Marathon, now named the Combos Marathon.
