IS ALSO ... Reminder of the Law... From the age of 10, a child who has committed an offence may be subject to a punishment (confiscation of their device, extra school work, possibility of being sent to a special boarding school, or a civic training course, etc.). They would have no prison sentence but any fine would have to be paid by their parents or legal guardian. From the age of 13, a child who has committed an offence is considered as legally responsible for their actions. This can lead to a punishment (probation, judicial supervision, confiscation of your device, extra school work, possibly sent to a special boarding school, or a civic training course, etc.) as well as an appropriate fine and/or prison sentence. From the age of 16, a child who has committed a crime is considered as responsible with regards to the law. If someone decides to press charges, an investigation will take place during which the child will be heard. Facts will then be filed in their criminal record, for life.
