In a landscape characterized by its very lack of definition, the project supplements the interconnective function of the bridge with that of forming a new identifying sign of the city. The structure, consisting of twin steel arches which bifurcate as they des­cend towards the ground, and of four series of cables which are suspended from these, define and separate the pavement of the wide lateral sidewalks and support the access stairs to the future station and large park situated either side of the railroad tracks.
