APPLICATION PROCESS (Additional requirements can be found online)
Please read the instructions carefully prior to filling out the application. Applications not completed correctly will be disqualified. All research scholarship information is available on the AAST website, www.aast.org. Applications must be filled out electronically by February 1, 2016 at: https://.aastscholarships.communityforce.com Scholarships are open to post-residency applicants only. Incomplete or late applications will not be accepted. Only electronic applications will be accepted. Applicants selected for possible funding will be contacted to present an overview of their project to the Scholarship Committee in April via webcast. Applicants selected for funding will be notified by June 1st. Scholarship recipients are required to attend the AAST Meeting in September in Waikoloa, HI. Your name and research project will be recognized during the Annual Business Meeting. All scholarship monies are sent to the University or Hospital. Scholarship monies are distributed in six month intervals: July and January. It is the responsibility of the scholarship recipient to notify AAST if they relocate to a different University or Hospital. Unused monies must be rebated back to AAST. RESTRICTIONS ON THE RESEARCH SCHOLARSHIPS: Research monies awarded are to be used for research project only. Salary support for the PI is not allowed. Scholarship monies are to be used by the recipient only and not the University or Hospital. A budget must be submitted with the application. YEARLY REPORTING: A final/yearly report is required. The report must be submitted by July of the following year of initial monies received. Research grants funded are requested to present an oral report in 2018 during the Scholarship Presentation at the AAST Meeting in September in Baltimore, MD.
