Have you ever heard of Ouagadougou? It’s the capital of Burkina Faso and this is where Burkina Electric originates from. After trying herself out in more traditional bands, quadrilingual singer Maï Lingani has founded a collective of African musicians and a New York-based composer, Lukas Ligeti (son of the world famous György Ligeti), resulting in a modern electronic take on West-African music.

Cloud 9+ 20

19.00

Tim Presley from Darker My Love has started his own project in 2010. The guitarist has released many albums since, collaborated with Ty Segall on Hair and got praised by critics. His music is recognisable for the distorted guitars, and the Californian garage rock feel with a psychedelic influence. The other band of the evening, Haunebu are a stoner garage band consisting of former members of significant Hungarian rock bands (Esclin Syndo, The Moog.)

Hungry for fresh Hungarian pop bands? Take a listen on Cloud 9+’s so-called rockstep fusing rock, drumandbass, dubstep and hiphop, with two boys on the mic: one vocalist and one MC. Fatal Error is an exciting up and coming pop-rock band, while Dizzy Effort make you jump up and down effortlessly. This event will be recorded and be shown on national televison, so don’t forget to get into the first row!

Mouth of the Architect 24

20.00

MOTA has released their fourth album called Dawning and we will part of their European album release tour. If you were a fan of Dead Blue Sky, Twelve Tribes or basically any American hardcore band in the 90s, some elements of their music might come out as familiar, but Mouth of the Architect is fundamentally a post-metal band with a more ambient and psychedelic sound. Don’t forget to check out the support band, Octahed either!

Matias Aguayo 26

23.00

Aguayo was born Argentinian but has grown musically in Cologne in the heyday of German dance music. Now based in Berlin, he is responsible for the most intense house and techno parties and summer club hits. Come and party on two dancefloors with him and a fine selection of Hungarian djs!

Technokunst

Takaaki Itoh 05

22.00

First known as a party promoter in northern Japan, Takaaki Itoh soon grew to be an acknowledged producer and dj with his rich, layered and skillful tracks. Japanese underground techno is a real treat for EDM fans and the best place to fell in love with it is the inside of our ship. More heaviness by Isu and Dork, and visuals by the genius Glowing Bulbs, as usual.

Every Saturday from 2 PM Isu, Crimson, and Chrom are on the decks with the perfect accompaniment for a chilling summer afternoon. It is the third year that you can listen to the finest minimal-tech-house music over a drink with friends on the terrace and the only condition is the sun shining brightly. If so, get your sunglasses and let’s meet on the boat!

Friday at A38 This series has started last year for the fans of jungle, garage and liquid drumandbass by different djs each week. This time the Bladerunnaz crew, including Ren, Spinline, Mentalien Markov, Statik and many more, are fine with people sitting on the dancefloor, sipping cocktails or eating a burger, but if you feel like dancing, you can start your Friday night party here – from 5 PM already.

HISTORY A38 is the reincarnation of ‘Tripolie’, a Ukranian stone-carrier ship, built in 1968. The name comes from Artemovsk, which is the ship prototype, and this one was the 38th unit of the ‘Artemovsk’ class. The re-building project lasted for one and a half years. Architects, ship engineers, acoustic designers, electricians, musicians and promoters contributed their skills and experience to make it a both artist and audience friendly place. After years of constant development, A38 has become a cultural entertainment centre with international programme, a restaurant, five bars, one main concert hall, open-air terraces and lounges all in one aboard as one of the most fascinating venues in Budapest. Since its opening it became the flagship of Budapest nightlife, a must-see spectacle on the Danube with scenic view and one of Europe’s coolest clubs, which has been voted ‘The World’s Greatest Bar’ – according to the poll of Lonely Planet in 2012.
