For thirty years, it has been developing effective and competitive solutions to meet the energy needs of any type of user, always with constant respect for the local area. Under the guidance of experienced, qualified management, it is now an important player in the energy sector, with a turnover of almost 500 million euros. The result is a new brand, PVB, and a different organisational structure, with the Group divided into four main business areas: Fuels, Power, Facility and Systems. • PVB Group Spa is the holding company and the core identity of the entire Group. PVB Group provides administrative services to its subsidiaries and holds minority stakes in companies in the energy and environmental services sectors. • PVB Fuels Spa oversees the wholesale industry, supplying diesel for propulsion, agricultural use, heating and fuels in general. Environmental awareness has led PVB Fuels to expand its range, including more products that are more sustainable and of plant origin. 4
• PVB Solutions Spa operates in Energy & Facility Management, adding to the services it offers with energyrelated services such as management of thermal/cooling energy, electricity, public lighting and Energy Performance Contracts. PVB GROup A commitment that has lasted over thirty years
PVB was established in 1980 as Petrolvilla. Its launch was promising from the start thanks to the clever intuition to complete the range of petroleum products with heat management services for condominiums, hospitals and public administration. After twenty years of uninterrupted growth, 2000 saw the establishment of the Petrolvilla Energy and Environment Group which, by making the most of considerable group synergies, increased its penetration force in extra-regional and international markets. Meanwhile, thanks to the liberalisation of the energy market, Petrolvilla also dedicated itself to the production and sale of electricity. In 2010, the Petrolvilla Group celebrated thirty years of business and begin a significant internal reorganisation process. The result was a new brand, PVB, and a different organisational structure, with the Group divided into four main business areas: Fuels, Power, Facility and Systems. 5

PVB acts on the principle that it is not possible to pursue profit in the company without trying to improve wellbeing in the local area at the same time: creating jobs, taking special precautions to protect the environment, implementing initiatives to promote more responsible use of energy and environmental resources. For this reason, it is a founding and active member of both Habitech and the Green Building Council Italy, and a holder and promoter of LEED principles in Italy, LEED being one of the world’s most widely used standards for the certification of environmental sustainability of buildings in various forms (new, existing, historical, public, residential, hospital and industrial buildings). The commitment to the environment has gained significant recognition with the appointment of Sergio Bortolotti, Chair of PVB Group, as the Chair of the Habitech Trentino Technology District. The need to compete with an increasingly wide and competitive market, and to provide customers with highly qualified products and services, along with the awareness that the environment is one of the most important resources, and also the most delicate, have encouraged PVB to implement and develop its management system in accordance with the requirements regulated by the UNI EN ISO 9001:2000 and UNI EN ISO 14001:2004 standards, to ensure ongoing improvement.
PVB has also received major SOA certification to demonstrate its ability (directly or by means of subcontracting) to carry out public supply and installation works with a base bid amount exceeding â‚Ź 150,000. In detail, the certification was obtained for having demonstrated the ability to complete construction, renovation and maintenance as part of specific processes that are, typically, part of the process to create a work or intervention or works or interventions that are completely finished and ready to use. The qualification requires effective operational and organisational ability regarding productionrelated factors, specific expertise in the technical coordination of work, in economic and financial management, in awareness of all technical and administrative rules governing the execution of public works and, in specific cases, the possession of all specific technical and administrative qualifications envisaged by applicable legislation and regulations.
BS OHSAS 18001:2007 certification PVB has achieved BS OHSAS 18001:2007 certification. The acronym OHSAS (Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series) identifies and regulates the requirements of an Occupational Health and Safety Management System worldwide.

The Group has an extensive distribution network, made up of several warehouses in northern Italy, with a large fleet of trucks, serving over 38,000 customers every year. PVB also ensures timeliness and punctuality for each supply (80% of orders are shipped within 24 hours), responsiveness and speed of response (97% of telephone calls are answered within a few seconds) and courteous, professional personnel.

Excise consultancy
The core business is the supply of diesel for heating, diesel and petrol for propulsion, diesel and petrol for agricultural use and fuel oils for industrial use and heating.
The portfolio is completed with excise consultancy services for companies that use diesel for special purposes, such as the production of motive power, mineralogical uses or selfproduction of electricity. The service leads to real opportunities for savings. The consultancy provided involves interfacing with installers, consultants and the Customs Agency, in order to enable customers to achieve the economic benefits envisaged at legislative level.
Environmentally sustainable products Company policy, based on environmental sustainability, is focused on an ongoing search for alternative sources to provide the market with energy solutions with a limited environmental impact.

At the beginning of the 2000s, PVB launched an internationalisation campaign, which led to industrial development projects, especially in Eastern Europe. These achievements enabled the group to play an important role in the local area, importing know-how and technology that was useful to the economic growth of the countries concerned.

TRUE DEVELOPMENT IS RESPONSIBLE Hydroelectric and wind power for a conscious lifestyle
PVB designs, builds and manages its investments in the renewable energy sector. Thanks to a young and dynamic structure, consisting of dozens of engineers and employees, PVB ensures operativity in Italy and in most countries in the Balkan region, especially Bulgaria and Romania. Since 2003, PVB has been developing specific know-how in the field of run-of-the-river and low head hydroelectric power plants. 2 power plants in Bulgaria put into service in 2008. 3 more under construction will be put into service by the end of 2012. A further 16 will be operational by 2016 in Bulgaria and Romania, for a total power level of 130 MW and annual production of over 500 GWh/year.

PVB Transilvania
PVB currently has major projects involving the construction and management of hydroelectric power plants and wind farms in both Italy and Eastern Europe.
PVB Transilvania is the result of collaboration with a Romanian partner with the aim of designing, building and managing 7 low head, run-of-the-river hydroelectric power plants along the Somes river.
PVB Power Bulgaria
PVB Croazia
PVB is active in Bulgaria through its involvement in PVB Power Bulgaria. PVB has created a public-private partnership with the Municipality of Svogue, giving rise to VEZ Svoghe SpA, a special purpose entity, certified as a class A investor in 2010. The purpose of the partnership is to build nine run-of-the-river hydroelectric power plants along the Iskar river. The second special purpose entity created in Bulgaria is VEZ Maritza. The project involves building five hydroelectric low head and runof-the-river power plants along the Maritza river, situated to the south of the capital Sofia.
With the participation of a local partner, PVB’s objective is to design, build and manage wind farms in Croatia. It is in the process of obtaining the authorisation and management of a 60 MW wind farm on Mount Kremen in the Croatian hinterland.

PVB Power in Italy In partnership with municipalities and government in the Trentino-Alto Adige region, PVB is currently involved in several mini-hydroelectric power plants with an extremely low environmental impact. PVB Power also plans to build a wind farm consisting of 7 vanes with an installed power of 15 MW in the municipality of Lacedonia in Campania.
