Sometimes, late at night, when my mind gets quiet, I think about my life and where it’s going
what it might ultimately stand for. I wonder if it will have mattered and if in my final days I will be filled with feelings of satisfaction or regret. In these moments I think about Jenn and Camden and Hayden and wonder if I am doing my best as a husband and a father. I also spend a lot of time thinking about 4moms and what it means to me. We accomplished a lot in 2014. Revenue was up 60%, marking nine consecutive years of revenue growth. We started the year with 110 people and ended with 174. We switched to SAP and moved into new offices in the US and Hong Kong. We hosted our first International Partner Summit and launched the rockaRoo. Our first app went live on iTunes and Android stores and we began shipping the mamaRoo 3.0. We rocked tradeshows from Las Vegas to Cologne. Every aspect of our business from Supply Chain to Customer Care is conducted differently than it was twelve months ago. Once again we are ending the year doing more than we have ever done and we are poised for a tenth consecutive record year. However, when my mind is quiet, and I think about the future, and how I will feel about my life, it’s not our outwardly facing accomplishments that I think about. In times of reflection, I think about our team and the community we are building because that’s what I am most proud of. What we have done is great. How we are doing it is exceptional. That’s hard to explain, but if you get it, you get it, and this book is for you. There is nothing I’d rather do and no one I’d rather do it with. 2015 is going to be our best year yet. HOW WE GOT STARTED In 2005, Rob Daley and Henry Thorne met for lunch. Six hours later, they’d decided to form a company. Rob’s business acumen, Henry’s engineering expertise, and a shared conviction that increasingly inexpensive electronics could add value in static product categories gave them confidence. Not long after, a focus group of four moms gave them insights, ideas, and a name for their company. From that first Digital Spout Cover to the mamaRoo infant seat to the origami stroller and more, 4moms products are innovative, elegant, and helpful to parents everywhere.
