NUMBER SENSE POWER WORKOUT Whether your child is struggling with math or crazy about numbers, the NUMBER SENSE power workout is for them! Problem solving skills, the centerpiece of modern mathematics education, have their roots in NUMBER SENSE, which is an integral component of everyone’s “mathematical toolkit”. A student can be said to have basic NUMBER SENSE when s/he can count from any number, to any number, by any number; split a number into any number of parts; compare any two numbers by subtraction and division; use all of the above and the idea that “the whole is equal to the sum of its parts” to solve non-routine problems and determine the reasonableness of their answers. Your first session will be an assessment where your child will be assessed to learn exactly what your child knows and what they need to learn or improve on. Your child will then have a customized learning plan which identifies the math concepts needed to meet the specific learning goals for your child. 10 week session.
