HOW TO REGISTER • Log on to www.recreater.com, create an account and register online. • Call 301-600-2936, have your program number (i.e. #24099) and credit card number ready. PROGRAM CANCELLATIONS/ WEATHER-RELATED CLOSURES Please see your instructor on the first day of your program for a schedule. If there is a change in the schedule, you will be informed by Parks and Recreation staff of the update. If you are not sure whether a program will be held, call our program cancellation line at 301-600-6291. During inclement weather, outdoor programs may be cancelled. Every effort will be made to make-up missed classes. Refunds will not be granted for rescheduled classes that are missed due to conflicts with personal schedules. The Division may cancel a program for any reasonable cause. AGE POLICY Program participants must be the advertised age of the program before the program ends. All age requirements are set to benefit the participants and to make sure the instruction is consistent and safe. REFUND POLICY Our refund policy encourages early decisions, so as to not affect other customers or our ability to deliver efficient programs. All requests for refunds must be made at least 10 business days prior to the start of the program. A 20% administrative fee will be charged per refund transaction. Registrations that require advanced tickets are not refundable. Refunds for Sports League registrations must be made prior to the listed league registration deadline. There are no refunds for missed sessions.

Programs utilize trained staff, adapted spaces and equipment, and a high staff/ participant ratio to provide a positive experience for participants.

This program is designed for people ages 16+ with various disabilities to enhance their social skills and expand their communication skills. Join us Friday nights as we create, play games, and enjoy the company of friends. There’s no telling how much fun is in store for you. Participants must be able to provide self care independently or with the assistance of a parent/guardian/caregiver who is onsite and be able to actively participate in a group with a instructor participant ratio of 1:4. Start now to let your hair grow as wild and free as your sense of adventure and celebrate your new found unruliness by venturing out into the park to race among other Hairy Monsters. The more creative can keep their well kempt look and embellish with faux hair to bring out their inner monster. This event is designed within the confines of Catoctin Creek Park and each individual or 2 person team will create their own strategy to reach each checkpoint. The racers will use map and compass to find a variety of checkpoints. The distance of 5K is an average of the course and each racer could lessen the distance or go farther depending on their strategy. The “Titles” that are at stake are The Fastest Monster, The Hairiest of the Hairy, and many other “monstrously” fun victories you could achieve during this race. Join staff and like-minded outdoor enthusiasts as we hike Choate Mine, Dolfield and Serpentine Trail at Soldiers Delight Natural Environment Area (SDNEA). This loop series is a moderate 5.4 mile trail with less than 500’ elevation gain; trail surface is mostly rocky and uneven. SDNEA is comprised of 1,900 acres of serpentine barren and has over 39 rare, threatened, or endangered plant species as well as rare insects, rocks and minerals.
