PROGRAM CANCELLATIONS/ WEATHER-RELATED CLOSURES
Please refer to the session meeting dates in your ActiveNet account, or see your instructor on the first day of your program for a schedule. If there is a change in the schedule, you will be informed by Parks and Recreation staff of the update. If you are not sure whether a program will be held, call our program cancellation line at 301-600-6291. During inclement weather, outdoor programs may be cancelled. Every effort will be made to make-up missed classes. Refunds will not be granted for rescheduled classes that are missed due to conflicts with personal schedules. The Division of Parks and Recreation may cancel a program for any reasonable cause.
AGE POLICY
Program participants must be the advertised age of the program before the program ends. All age requirements are set to benefit the participants and to make sure the activity curriculum is consistent and safe.
REFUND POLICY
Our refund policy encourages early decisions, so as to not affect other customers or our ability to deliver efficient programs. All requests for refunds must be made at least 10 business days prior to the start of the program. A 20% administrative fee will be charged per refund transaction. Registrations that require advanced tickets are not refundable. Refunds for Sports League registrations must be made prior to the listed league registration deadline. There are no refunds for missed sessions.
COVID-19 REFUND POLICY
In light of COVID-19, we have revised our refund policy. If a participant is unable to continue in a program due to illness or exposure related to COVID-19, they will receive a credit that is pro-rated based on the number of days that is missed of said program(s). The participant may request a refund of the credit via email at parksandrecreation@frederickcountymd.gov or by calling the Central Office at 301-600-2936.

This league is for adults 16 years and older. All games will be played on Sunday’s at the new Utica District Park basketball court. We will provide the uniforms and balls for game play. League play will be limited to stick checks and minimal (involuntary) body checks. All games will be played on the synthetic turf at Utica District Park on Tuesday evenings starting December 8th. All registrants will receive an XL reversible jersey with their pre-paid registration. Gates to the field open at 6 pm. Goalies are free to play (preregistration is required). All athletes must provide their own equipment (helmet, sticks, gloves, shoulder pads, arm pads, etc.). The county will only provide the goals, and balls for game play. CO-ED FLAG FOOTBALL LEAGUE FOR ADULTS
BOY’S BOX LACROSSE LEAGUE
This is a brand new box lacrosse facility and league in Frederick County! This league is for boys aged 10-19 years old. All games are played at Utica District Park’s new Turf Field #6 each Saturday between 9a-4p. Teams will be guaranteed a minimum of one game per week. This is a 6-game league with the last weekend being a round robin competition. There will not be games on December 26th. Jersey’s are provided. Participants must provide their own equipment (helmets, pads, sticks, etc). The registration deadline is November 18th. Volunteer coaches are vital to the operation of this program. Play is 5 vs.5 with a minimum of 2 females required on field at all times. Maximum of 15 players per team roster. All games are played at Ballenger Creek Park on Sunday Afternoons. Format is NFL FLAG rules modified for adults, everyone is eligible to receive passes. League play consists of approximately 8 weeks including a post-season playoff competition. Game times will vary each week depending on team schedule. Individual sign up only - indicate team at time of registration or sign up as free agent. Full fee must be submitted at time of registration to secure spot. Team Captains will be sent complete information packet and requirements for entire team. Registration deadline is Wednesday, January 6th. 5v5 non-contact league. Jersey and flag belts are provided. Games will be played on Saturdays at one of Frederick Counties Turf Fields (Utica District Park, Othello Regional Park, or Ballenger Creek Park). Join staff and like-minded outdoor enthusiasts as we hike the Appalachian Trail towards Annapolis Rocks and Black Rock Cliffs. An 8 mile in-and-out trail with a 800’ elevation gain, this hike serves is one of the most popular in Maryland, perhaps stunning vistas overlooking Greenbrier at Annapolis Rocks and an 180 degree panorama west at Black Rock Cliff. The trail is a mostly pleasant meander with a brief encounters with elevation differences. Make sure to wear comfortable, closed toe, hiking shoes and bring a water bottle, snacks/lunch. SNOWING OUT? Frederick County Parks and Recreation offers a sled run and ice skating pond at Pinecliff Park, available to the public for FREE. The sled run and skating pond are checked daily by Parks and Recreation staff. Sled Run The sled run is approximately 20 feet wide and 150 feet long and is open as long as there are no areas devoid of snow (bare areas). Once the turf is showing through or there are rough, icy spots or other safety hazards present, the sled run is closed. Ice Skating Pond The ice skating pond is approximately Âź acre and 10 to 12 inches in depth throughout. The ice skating pond is open as long as the thickness of the ice is at least 4 inches and there are no rough, icy areas and no open water, standing water or other safety hazards.
