BRIGHT FUTURE FOR THE DENNOS

This year the Dennos Museum Center produced 14 gallery exhibitions and 10 concert performances, while also hosting many performances from NMC and the community. You may have enjoyed works by regional photographer Ken Scott and ART PRIZE winner Ann Loveless. You may also have seen the expanding paper sculpture of Li Hongbo of Beijing, the incredible light sculpture of Chul Hyun Ahn, and explored tools as art among other amazing exhibitions. In the Milliken Auditorium, you could have experienced Chinese Acrobats, African Guitarists and Japanese Taiko in addition to great comedy, blues, and folk. We continued to have impact beyond the walls of the Dennos by sending two major exhibitions organized by and shown at the Dennos to museums and schools across Michigan. The Dennos was one of 25 U.S. museums invited to the conference Meeting the West: Exhibitions from American Museums in Nanjing, China. In partnership with NMC’s Audio Tech Program, and with the support of the Begonia Foundation, we produced the Grammy Award winning jazz pianist Bob James’ second live CD, Bob James: Live at the Milliken Auditorium.

Your support makes it possible to bring these incredible works to the Dennos. Thank you.
