The essence of the program is to promote sportsmanship and honor participation, achievement and effort.

Athletics Requirements: • All students—at least one interscholastic team sport per year. • Freshmen and sophomores—all three seasons, either an interscholastic sport or a PE option. • Juniors and seniors—participation in two seasons are required.

“Coaching at a small school like LFA should always be student centered. I strongly believe that if you focus on building the character and resilience of the player first, everything else will fall in line. Sports are the center of what creates leaders in life. My coaching philosophy goes past teaching a sport but how can these skills translate into real life. ” — Tanika Golota, Athletic Coordinator, varsity girls basketball coach

“Coaching LFA student-athletes is a rewarding, unique experience. Whether students have the goal of pursuing their sport at the college level, or they simply want to join a team and have fun, everyone has an opportunity to participate. In my 12 years at LFA, my favorite part of coaching hasn't been the high quality of the play or big wins but rather working with such a great group of kids year in and year out.” — Paul Makovec, varsity boys soccer coach
