Welcome to Continuing Education! Going Out on a Limb Since 1970 As we anticipate fall’s arrival, we look forward to the leaves’ mass exodus from overhead to their new (albeit temporary) habitat on our sidewalks, cars and yards. The bare boughs above remind us of our great capacity to bend with changes, reach for our goals, and branch out in many directions as we go. This fall leave the leaves to the wind and take stock of what you need to stretch and grow with a class from Continuing Education.

Mariko really knows the material. She is full of examples and has done the research to provide the class with confidence. She is also willing to do a lot of extra work to help students work towards their goals. I like the idea of working on goals in a small class setting. I’ve taken Finding the Work You Love, Finding the Life You Love (with Subhan Schenker), and will be taking the Neuroplasticity and the Eight Senses of Awareness (with Vija Rogozina, page 22) class next, as well as a meditation course. They all complement each other well. I’m very appreciative that North Seattle College Continuing Education is offering these types of classes. – Ryan H. on Something’s Got to Change with Mariko Navin

Fall’s installment of Schlock Cinema starts with Jack Nicholson’s film debut, The Cry Baby Killer (1958) wherein a poor a little rich kid upon believing he’s killed some punks flees arrest and holds a family hostage at gunpoint. Star Schuyler Hayden put up $200K of his own cash to fund this long-lost psychodrama about a maniacal folk singer determined to burn down the world while expressing himself through music. Next, we get a taste of epic Sword and Sandal cheese with Hercules Against the Moon Men (1964). Super Hunk Alan Steel (AKA Sergio Ciani) must defend the kingdom of Samar from lunar invaders. It gets a little loony from there. We skid to a close with The Car (1977). James Brolin plays chicken with a demonic Lincoln Continental and soon finds himself in a race for his life down a road otherwise paved with good intentions. 7114 10/18/2018 - 11/15/2018 7:00 - 9:00PM 5 ses Th Hopkins On Campus: LB Bldg Room 1131 $79
