FOREWORD

Welcome all, to our first ever “Woking Weekender”

The Weekender has grown from our 100th Stadium Anniversary, a whimsical idea we ran with back in 2022, to what we see this week – 3-day party to celebrate the best of Woking and the wider community. These community driven events are made possible by the unbelievable support of several partners, and for the last two years have been the highlight of the year for many people, including mine. There are too many people to thank individually for their support, but I trust you all know how grateful I am.

The Weekender is not just about football, it’s so much more. It’s an opportunity to bring the entire community together, spend time with family and friends, celebrate local music, support charitable causes, showcase what’s great about Woking, and most importantly, have fun in a safe environment.

Of course, football is at the heart of what we are – meet past and present WFC greats at the Legends game on Friday, contest our Cardinals Gold Cup on the Saturday, or watch as hundreds of budding young footballers play on our pitch as we look to inspire the next generation of Cardinals as part of Sunday’s Pitch Party.

There really is something for everyone, and with your support, these events will continue to grow year-on-year. The importance of this event for the community and the club cannot be understated, and with all the planning and hard-work done, and I thank you all for your support. It’s still not too late to purchase tickets, and all the information for the entire weekend can be found here. So, grab your weekend or day-ticket, bring the entire family and head down to the Laithwaite Community Stadium for what I am confident will be our most memorable event yet.

A Woking Legends and Invitational match will kick-off the Woking Weekender!

Head down to the Laithwaite Community Stadium to kick off the weekend as past and present WFC players take to the field from 19:00pm. Bring a friend for free when you purchase a ticket online before midnight on Thursday!

Lloyd Wye & Grant Payne will be pitting their team against Ian Selley’s & Martin Tylers, with support from a host of local players, sponsors and volunteers of the club – it’s going to be a cracker, and they’ll need to your support!

Fans will have the chance to buy in to a team, lining up with legends of the Club and Celebrities. For information of how to buy into a team and fees, please email weekender@wokingfc.co.uk

Join us for the return of the Cardinal Gold Cup on day two of the Woking Weekender! Entrance to the day events are FREE before 19:30pm, so friends and family can cheer on their teams!

Day 2 of the Weekender sees 12 local teams battle it out for our Cardinals Gold Cup.

In tandem with the Cardinal Gold Cup, there will be a Community Music Day in the Cardinals Bar, with very special guest Colin Giffin recanting tales of his time touring with the Beatles. Whitton Community Big Band, Emily Hallet & WFC’s very own volunteer of the year 2022 Bob Raikes & Ban will be performing, too. The Fan Zone and bar will be open all day – and it’s free admission until 1930:pm!

Once the day’s activities have wound down, head to the Cardinals Bar for Esquire’s 90’s House Party, from 19:30 until late, for just £5!

After the success of the last two End of Season Parties, we will be wrapping up the Woking Weekender in style as we again go even bigger and better this year!

Head down as we take over the pitch, with more giant inflatables, toddler town, local market stalls, football tournaments, and music and food galore!

This year, we are delighted to have Noasis headlining on the pitch main stage, with a fantastic supporting line-up playing some great music ALL DAY!

We are delighted to confirm the lineup for the day on the mainstage!

DJ Rich of Scooted & Booted will be on from 22:00-23:30pm to see the night out.

We will also be hosting our End of Season Player Awards, with the Men’s, Women’s, and Academy teams all in attendance, with members of the management team being involved throughout the day.

We are delighted to announce we have 3 incredible charitable partners for our inaugural Woking Weekender, of which we are seeking voluntary donations on ticket purchases – halow, Woking Sam & Beare Hospice and The Surrey Wildlife Trust. 94% of all donated proceeds will be split equally between the three charities!
