OTHER PROGRAMS Free Mattress Recycling Voucher Mattresses and box springs are recyclable and are banned from garbage disposal in Metro Vancouver. A $15 per unit recycling fee is FKDUJHG WR UHF\FOH D PDWWUHVV DW WKH 9DQFRXYHU /DQGȴOO D XQLW LV HTXDO to one mattress or one box spring). To waive the recycling fee, Delta residents can apply for a mattress recycling voucher at City Hall or the North Delta Recreation Centre and take up to two mattress units to the 9DQFRXYHU /DQGȴOO IRU UHF\FOLQJ IRU free. One voucher per household per year. Proof of residency is required.

Gardening and Sustainable Living Workshops Sign up for free workshops to learn about vegetable gardening, backyard composting, water wise gardening and more. Workshop dates are announced in the spring. Visit delta.ca/greenliving for more information.

Events Free Compost Week Delta residents can pick up one cubic metre of compost for free from WKH 9DQFRXYHU /DQGȴOO IURP Saturday, March 9 to Sunday, March 17, 2019. Maximum one pick up per vehicle. Proof of residency is required. )UHH 3HVWLFLGH 'URS 2΍ 'D\ Safely dispose of unused or leftover pesticides at the Engineering Works Yard (6404 64 St) for free on Saturday, April 27, 2019 from 9 am to 1 pm. Pesticides can be disposed of for free year-round at the Scott Road Bottle Depot (12111 86 Ave).
